This review is solely for Jessie the receptionist and her management. They occasionally send texts with available time slots for dental cleaning. My appointment was at 8am this morning - confirmed through a reminder text. I checked-in at the counter, wrote my information on the board and waited. There was no one else other than me in the waiting room and I waited until 8:32 to approach the receptionist to ask what was going on and what I was waiting for. She replied "your husband is at the back - not finished with his appointment". I came in alone and there was NO ONE ELSE in waiting room to be confused with. She assumed that was my husband at the back because we share the same last name? Very unprofessional to say the least. After she realized she made a wrong comment, she promptly informed me I am booked for a 9am. They had a mix-up in the system and booked me for 9am while I received a confirmation text for 8am. I talked to her manager and she replied "it's human error". Please step up your managing skills because I believe schedule management is one of them. Double check next day appointments and reconcile with confirmation texts you send out. Those are monitored by front desk people - not system generated. This is MORE THAN A HICCUP. I am very upset with this experience and manager couldn't resolve this issue other than offering to reschedule me to another day. I will be saving the confirmation text and voicing it to the other two doctors in my future visit. Dr Mikhail was aware of the issue when I was talking to receptionist and manager. He just looked at me, stood by and left without getting involved. Very upsetting management team. read more

I was very impressed with my first visit at Fairfax Dentistry! The receptionists were very polite, the waiting area was clean, and I was seen promptly at my appointment time. The dental hygienist was amazing, fun to talk to, and thorough - one of the best cleanings I've had! Dr. Mikhail was friendly and explained everything in detail. Dr. Ham is fantastic and very nice, a joy to see (if you can say that about a dentist). His staff, however, tends to be on the rude and curt side. Maybe that's the way it works, but I'd like to see more consistency from such a small staff. No reason to keep that bulldog at the front desk, she's just making you look bad! read more

I can't recommend this practice enough. The office is brand new and spacious after a recent move. The receptionist is warm and welcoming, and gives a great first impression when you walk through the wide glass double doors. Appointments are readily available, and I have never had to wait longer than five minutes for my appointment to begin once I am checked in. Cleanings are very thorough and efficient. My husband and I both see Dr. Choi for fillings and anything else more complicated than cleanings. She is kind, very professional, and very capable. I take a long time to actually get numb after receiving shots of Novocaine, and Dr. Choi is always very patient and ensures that I am sufficiently numb before she begins work. Dr. Choi also performed a root canal on me, and was very thoughtful and compassionate throughout the process. The crown I received was very well-formed and looks very natural. My teenager recently had braces installed by Dr. Lee, the practice's orthodontist. The office offers in-house financing for orthodontia, and is flexible when making payment arrangements. My daughter's braces will cost me $3000 out of pocket (yikes) but the practice was very accommodating when setting my deposit amount and payment schedule. I haven't had a better experience with any other dental practice, anywhere. Again, I highly recommend Fairfax Dentistry! read more

I have been going here for about two years and am unbelievably happy. They are thorough, nice and very professional. I had the most horrible front teeth. Crooked, discoloration, chipped, etc. I had seen several dentists and orthodontists over the past few years. Dr Ham recommended an approach that no one had before. And it was much less expensive than others. He really cares. I love my teeth now and am learning to smile!! read more

My entire family has been going to Dr. Ham for years, starting with my elderly parents becoming Dr. Ham's patients over 30 years ago. Skillful, thorough, and caring, Dr. Ham is the best dentist ever! He sets the tone for Fairfax Dentistry's professionalism and is surrounded by top notch staff. My son was going to have to leave for college without getting an already overdue checkup/cleaning because I had forgotten to schedule an appointment. Kayla, one of the schedulers, could not have been more helpful when I called. This practice has been my dental health support for a number of years. Dr. Truvan is my primary dentist and he does an excellent job. He is caring and he takes the time to explain what is going on and what needs to happen. I have a terrible gag reflex and Dr. Truvan takes the extra time to assure my comfort through careful numbing of the gag triggering areas near the work that needs to be done. This does take extra time, and I am sure it impacts his schedule, but he never complains. His care in this matter makes all the difference in my comfort. His work is exemplary. His care with crowns is beyond the level of my experience with other dentists and his efforts to save teeth are very effective. Dr. Lee has helped me on occasions when Dr. Truvan was not available, and she has been very professional and expert in her technique. On the rare times that additional knowledge has been required, Dr. Ham has provided it with ease. As with everyone else, his mission is to provide excellent care with maximum comfort for the patient. I have never been pressed to spend money on discretionary items, as I have in the past at other practices. These people, the whole team, are good, caring people. read more

I have had my share of bad dentist experiences and I was very nervous coming here a few years ago even though it was a referral. They have a large staff but everyone is very friendly and once you find a good hygienist they are good about making sure you consistently see that person for your cleaning. I have seen all the dentists here (there are about three of them) and I feel very comfortable with any of them to do any dental work on me. Every time I have a tooth issue they are able to see me right away and provide quick treatment. I have had at least two root canals, cavity fillings and replacements, night guard fitting etc all done here! I like to mention that the staff here is not too pushy or sales like! They would give me recommended dental work but don't give you the pressure that you have to do it (unless it is a much needed root canal of course). read more

I, like most people, am not exactly fond of dental visits and its associated procedures. However, Fairfax Dentistry has created much better experience for me and has started to nurture my toddler to be a fearless adult patient. The office is modern, wait-times are low, and the front office staff know what they are doing. I specifically worked the most with Priscilla, the Assistant Manager, who is very well-rounded with treatment information, billing/insurance knowledge, and keeping my anxieties low. There are several doctors within the practice but my son and I were seen by Dr. Kim. He is very professional and easy to talk to. My 5 year old son had to do an extraction procedure and he very patiently answered the ridiculous amount of questions I had as a concerned first-time parent. I would highly recommend Fairfax Dentistry to anyone looking for a dental practice. I've already referred four other people and they've all given me positive feedback and are happy with the doctors, hygienists, assistants, and office staff. read more

I have been a regular to this establishment for about 3 years. Started off getting braces with Dr. Sora Lee, she is so great and always made me feel comfortable everytime i was there to get my braces tightened. Dr. Sora Lee is extremely knowledgable about orthodontics, she clearly knows what she is doing. I have gone to get fillings, dental crowns with Dr. Truvan who is super professional and nice. All the dental hygienists that helped to clean my teeth are all quick, efficient. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone. read more

I had a bit of work to do so I have been a few times over the past few weeks. I could not be happier with my experience with Dr. Kim. GO TO DR. SORA!!! She is absolutely amazing. From bedside manners to being a perfectionist, I would rate her a 20/10! I got Invisalign done by Dr. Sora and she made sure that I was going to go through a painless and breezy treatment. The process took about 2-3 years (I forget how long it took), and after I thought I was done with my Invisalign trays, she asked if it was okay if I went through another process from tray 1 and start over to make it even more perfect. I was thankful to have had a great orthodontist like this. Others probably would have said, "it looks good enough, lets put retainers on." But I started from tray 1 all over again about 3 times because she wanted that perfected alignment. Invisalign is not cheap, but Dr. Sora was very understanding and made sure I was able to make my payments to my comfortability. I started referring her to my friends and they love her as well. If you want beautiful straight teeth, go to her!!! ALSO - she does not forget about you just because you're finished with your treatment. I've gone this office many years since I was 20s, (now I'm 40s) but stop going to see Dr. Ham because of his lack of professional. He did my root canals (3 or more) and failed after 5 years later. I found out later that general dentist like him is not specialized in root canals so only endodontists can do the root canals. He still practices root canals and he did root canals for my families (including my parents and sisters, and their husband) and now they had to re-do after 5 years of each root canal. He said that it's very common to replace the root canal after 5 years. Seriously? My new dentist told me that a root canal should last long more than 10 years. Most of his patients are Korean and he charges too much to elder Koreans who can't speak English. I do not recommend him and please stay away from him if you want to have healthy teeth. read more

My family and I have been going to see Dr Ham and his associates for over 20 years at least! I have also seen Dr Truvan who is also excellent!!! I will never change dentists. If you need orthodontic work please go see Dr Sora Lee who is also in the office. She is perfect at what she does! We've been patients at the practice for some years. Everyone at the practice is friendly, professional and competent. My son and daughter are also patients of Doctor Sora Lee. She's friendly and competent and so is her orthor assistant Erika. The other orthor assistance is not competent and thoughtful like the rest of the orthor team. On two occasions we've had issues with her. We will continue going to this practice but will most definitely avoid being treated by this other orthor assistant. read more

I've been a patient now for 10 years. Dr. Truvan is my main dentist, although I've been seen by others and also multiple hygienists, and I've been pleased with all of them. They inform you of needed procedures, but only pressure you to get the ones they feel are necessary. Billing is sometimes a pain in the butt when your insurance denies a procedure they cover, but they will continue to fight your insurance to get the money on your behalf. The front desk staff is usually good, although there's one particular admin who gets snitty and all passive-aggressive if she's having a bad day. But having to deal with her makes me grind my teeth, which keeps me coming back. Hmm... maybe that's their plan.... Overall, this is a great dentist office. Highly recommended. read more

By far one of the best experiences I've had.. actually it is the best. If you need any dental work I would highly highly recommend this place. I came in for an appointment I made. I was welcomed by the staff who made the process quite simple. I do recommend coming in 20 minutes prior to fill the form. Very professional staff under very good management. I had some difficulty with the process and the two management staff were very understanding, friendly, and quite amazing! The two managers were Daniela and Priscilla ! I also got my regular teeth cleaning done by Jamila who was very precise on doing it the right way and made sure there was no discomfort. I was able to get my teeth cleaned have xrays done for my wisdom teeth done in a timely manner. She's an awesome hygienist. Very professional staff. Very satisfied customer. If you don't want to have issues in the future avoid this place. I had multiple situations where I had second thoughts I should have walked away from this practice. To begin, I was advised By Dr. SORA Lee to have a tooth extracted when I was pregnant! I even had my appointment scheduled and at the time when they told me they could not do it because I was pregnant. This all happened in the same office! they should have known better. I still continued my treatment since I had already paid for it as they request payment before the treatment starts which had to be delayed until I give birth. Lastly, after I had completed treatment and submitted all my payments the office refuses to give me my records. They are charging me $250 to have My own records released. I have contact them multiple times, they won't call me back. My insurance said they cannot charge me for my records but won't release it. I am writing a review because I am tired of giving them the benefit of doubt and wait for them to contact me which to this date has not happened. So, if you don't want to run into future issues, possibly mal practice or billing/records issues stay away from this practice. They only care about collecting their payments. read more
