Dr. Do is hands down the best I've encountered. His bedside manner is exceptional, he is very kind, GENTLE and explains everything you need to know very clearly before and along the way. The office staff are also quite pleasant and friendly. One thing above all is this office is HONEST which I cannot say for most dentists /dental specialists that I have seen over the years and also in the Monterey area. I recommend him to anyone who asks and even people who don't ask. I can only hope to find a place like this at every duty station I move to. Sometimes, Doctor Do himself leads me back to the room. The whole office is calming. Second: The assistants are competent and knowledgeable. I get the feeling that with every task they perform, they know exactly what they are doing and they are kind and comforting. Third: Dr. Do has exactly the right touch. He is careful, considerate, and extremely skilled. He lays out every option if you need to make a decision. He does not impose his opinion, but guides you through all of any possible outcomes. I was so impressed when he wanted to do something with my teeth that the insurance wouldn't pay for-- he called me back in, convinced that he could make them change their minds with another set of XRays. He was right. He saved me a thousand dollars because he cared. His mannerism is gentle and compassionate. As you might tell, I can't recommend him highly enough. I actually like going to the dentist.

All I remember was that something was making my jaw hurt so bad that I had semi-fainting spells. I couldn't think straight and I couldn't get ANYTHING done. I was freaking out about how bad my cavity must be. I was dreading the possibility that I would not have to remove my wisdom teeth (and stressed with the image that another stupid oral surgeon left by showing me his "hammer and chisel"). I just didn't like the feeling but was motivated enough by the extreme pain to go deal with it. Thank all things good, however, that it wasn't a cavity nor had it anything to do with my wisdom teeth. It was just a bloody popcorn kernel that had wedged itself into my gum. I have zero cavities and am part of small percentage in humanity that will never get one. =) Long story short, I've been coming to Dr Jang's office since my move to Monterey and have had no complaints regarding his practice. For one who doesn't really like dentists since childhood, he has been the first dentist that I'm willing to remain with due to his professionalism and thoroughness. He doesn't do "hammer and chisels" (remove wisdom teeth) so that thought alone keeps me seated instead of running away whenever I'm here for a cleaning. Great dentist and friendly staff. He was riding his bike to school to clean out his lab before the Thanksgiving break when he was struck by a car (hit and run!). In addition to some scrapes and bruises, three of his front teeth were broken. Our son did not want to walk around with broken front teeth so he called Dr. Carl's office right away to see if he could get in ASAP. It was 2 days before Thanksgiving and Dr. Carl was leaving early for the holiday. Dr. Carl's office said if he could get to the office before 2pm, he could work on him. Our son did his best to get there on time, but he ended up arriving at 3PM. Dr. Carl waited until he got there and fixed his teeth that day! We were so grateful.
