My son is 12 months and barely fussed during his teeth cleaning and the whole ordeal was over in under a minute. I have a clear game plan for my son's dental hygiene. And I especially want to give a kind shoutout to Lindsay, the patient care coordinator who graciously answered three of my phone calls in less than 10 minutes while I was frantically trying to coordinate my life with a young toddler. If you are looking for a pediatric Dentist that is clean, organized and makes children feel right at home, this might be the place for you

They really take the time to help them get comfortable with letting him brush a stuffed dragons teeth while cheering him on and answering all my questions to explaining how we'd get his cleaning down via teamwork between myself and the dentist to discussing tips on how to create positive dentist memories. I never felt rushed. I also appreciated the private room for little ones first time and an employee even came in just to hold my phone so he could see and hear his favorite songs to help him through the cleaning which honestly took just a few minutes for the whole thing and as soon as it was done they brought out a bubble blower that helped him quickly get over being upset about getting his teeth brushed. The bathroom was beautiful and clean as was the front waiting area which was colorful and had many activities for toddlers and older children and best of all giant vending machines that your child gets a special token to use after they are done- his adorable rubber duck from the machine quickly brought a smile to his face! The also take and provide you with a cute first visit dental photo printed out -it has a qr code to download the file- what more could you ask for!? The employees at the front desk also went above and beyond helping us check to see if another insurance would have better coverage and now we can add him to one of our other policies to get coverage at a much higher rate!

At the last check up, she refused to open her mouth, was scared of anything going in or near her mouth (even a toothbrush!), and was especially afraid of the potential of getting an xray done. At the last practice we went to, they were insisting we should try to get an xray done, but they used the xray card that adults use, so my daughter was very uncomfortable, scared, and she kept gagging. They tried several times, but in the end we didn't get the xray, and instead we left with intense dental fear instilled. We were referred to Dr. Keaney by a friend, who raved about how gentle and kid-friendly the practice was. Upon arriving, we were greeted by friendly staff and they made us feel really welcome and comfortable. The white board at the front desk even had a welcome sign that included our daughter's name! All the rooms were pleasantly decorated and themed. Shortly after we went in, we saw Dr. Keaney, and she was exactly as described: patient, kind, excellent with children. She and the other staff (Jessica) actually took time to read our forms and talk with us about our past experience, and took special care to cater to our specific situation. During the checkup, Dr. Keaney carefully explained/demonstrated each step she was going to do, and was really able to put my daughter at ease. In the end, she was awarded with a balloon and goodie bag, so we definitely left on a happy note. They also had My Little Pony on the ceiling tv playing, which was another extra bonus. I really appreciated how we were asked if it was OK to keep the TV on during the checkup, which I thought was so respectful and thoughtful to me, as a parent. We live over 30 minutes away, and there are many closer pediatric dentists in our area, but we are more than happy to make that extra drive to this practice now. We are looking forward to the day my daughter gets excited to see the dentist, and I really believe Dr. Keaney will get us there. Thank you to Dr. Keaney and all the wonderful staff!

It's really rare to experience an office where all staff members are kind, helpful, and friendly, but that is this office. From the admin person to the front desk staff to the hygienists to the dentist herself, this is an office that truly cares for the kids and their families. All the staff are all positive and supportive. The office is very clean and conducive to kids, with tvs in the ceiling, toys in the waiting room, and kids decor throughout. There is a dry erase board where each kids name is written to welcome them, a very nice touch. Each kid gets a goody bag at the end and a token which can be used on the toy vending machines in the lobby. This is a HUGE hit with the kids! They usually get little jewelry trinkets or toys that they get excited about. One time the staff gave them balloons which was sweet. The dentist herself is very kind and gentle and thorough with the kids. She'll take time to answer questions and explain things. The same go for all the hygienists here. I always get a good vibe when coming to my kids dental appointment!

I wasn't planning on writing a review, but I feel compelled to caution parents to seek second…read moreopinions and not be swayed by appearances alone. I understand that dentists are not perfect and that all treatments carry some degree of risk, but my experience with this office was one problem after another. The office, staff, and dentist were all very pleasant. However, two of my children were recommended treatments that other medical professionals later told us were unnecessary. One of my children underwent a root canal and crown on a back baby molar, which later became infected. When I initially asked why the tooth couldn't simply be extracted rather than the root canal & crown, I was told that it would be several years before the adult tooth erupted. After the infection developed, the dentist explained that the tooth would need to be extracted after all and that a spacer would then be placed. My son was seven years old at the time. Rather than proceed with that treatment, I sought a second opinion from his previous dentist, whom we had only left because we moved farther away. They told me the root canal and crown had been unnecessary and that the tooth should have been extracted from the beginning. My four-year-old daughter has a mild lip tie, and this dentist recommended laser surgery to correct it. After consulting her pediatrician, an ENT specialist at Children's, and a speech pathologist, I was told that the procedure was not recommended in her case and could potentially cause more harm than good. I'm glad I did not move forward with the treatment. My daughter does have a mild speech delay, but it was attributed to recurring ear infections. She has since had tubes placed in her ears. Based on my experience, I was left with the impression that this office may be recommending procedures that are not always necessary. After receiving multiple second opinions that contradicted the treatment recommendations we were given, I began to question whether financial considerations were influencing those recommendations.

TLDR:  Just go here, you'll be so happy you did…read more My 3yo had a dental emergency and, even though he wasn't an established patient, they fit him in same-day because he was in pain.  The receptionist, Genesis, showed so much compassion when she heard my son crying in the background and really went out of her way to make sure we could get him in to be seen right away (we saw the dentist within an hour of our first phone call to her).  When we arrived, Melanie brought my son back and she was SO GOOD with him.  He was bouncing off the walls and so excited to be out (we'd been staying home due to COVID so this was his first time out in a very long time) and I was really nervous that he wouldn't sit still for a dental exam.  But Melanie and Dr. O were beyond fantastic.  Dr. O had such a calm manner about him and, even though they had squeezed us in, he didn't rush me at all and answered all of my questions.  They have a handheld x-ray machine which made it a lot easier to get x-rays of his teeth.  While I was talking with Dr. O., my son couldn't sit still and was running around, so Melanie offered to watch him.  When I finished talking with Dr. O, I found my son with Melanie making artwork.  It was so sweet!   I really can't recommend Children's Dentistry highly enough.  Plus there was easy parking, nice building, and it's a beautiful and bright space.

He was kind, patient, and even brought a monkey and demonstrated brushing his teeth so my child could watch and model him. That approach worked. This time, the doctor acted as if he had never seen us before. Instead of showing patience or trying to understand how to examine a child with autism, his attitude was, "How am I going to do this? I don't know how to examine him." Children with autism and other special needs deserve patience, understanding, and compassion--not frustration or judgment because they cannot cooperate like a typical child. A medical professional should know that sometimes the approach has to be different. I left the appointment heartbroken. Parents of children with special needs already fight every day to make sure their children are understood and treated with dignity. We should never have to leave a doctor's office feeling like our child is a problem. I hope this experience is a reminder that autism requires understanding, not judgment.

The dental hygienist and the doctor are on top of your issues and their transition is seamless. I absolutely hate teeth cleaning but the hygienist I have there is wonderful, she's got that magic touch where I feel no pain and no discomfort, and that makes me come back for more, lol. Waiting room was fine. I get back into the chair for my appointment and the dental assistant starts working on getting X rays of my mouth. These hard, uncomfortable blocks (that I'm very used to after 30 years of dental x rays) are sitting between my teeth to bite down on - which anyone who has had dental X-rays I'm sure can relate to. The oral hygienist REPEATEDLY accidentally knocked into me -- jamming the x ray and cutting my mouth. He had no spatial awareness and it was incredibly painful. Then, the dentist comes in. She says "hi, I know you usually see (Doctor) but they're out today so you'll be seeing me." I said I am a new patient and have never been here. So that wasn't a good look. Dental cleaning was fine, pretty standard. The condition of the room was kind of grimy and I saw a bug crawling on the ground. I'm used to a much more polished dental office, this felt like a run down old Arlington apartment with old rusty radiators. Anyway, so at the end of my cleaning they say if I get fluoride it will cost $30. I said that's fine, because that was the ONLY expense I was expecting to pay. I had asked repeatedly during my calls with this office to ensure that I understood what my financial responsibility would be. They said it's all covered by insurance (other than the fluoride). So, I check out and head home. Since that appointment, I have received texts for several months now from this office claiming I owe $100. Each time I get the text, I call the office and speak to someone. Each time, they aren't sure of the charge and say they'll check and call me back. The never call me back. So I wait around over and over for another "you owe $100 text" and then call again and try to handle the issue. No one has been able to give me a clear answer. The staff is extremely disorganized and unprofessional. I finally paid the $100 since now it's "overdue" and I'm clearly not going to get any resolution. But in return, I decided to write this review. Which originally I wasn't going to do because I wanted to give this place a chance. Turns out it's disorganized, unprofessional, poor communication, misleading financial information, and generally not a good vibe. I don't recommend.
