Never will I come back for service on my Silverado. I have been here a few times and the first two or three times it was fine. I came in for an oil change and the advisor wasn't trying to sell me unnecessary services or anything. He got me in and out. The last time I was in for an oil change the advisor (one I had never worked with) reminded me there was a recall on my truck. I have known about this recall and put it off because I knew how big of a job it was and was afraid someone would to mess it up. I have several years experience working in the service dept of a dealership and my husband has been a mechanic for over 30 years, so we know a little bit about cars to say the least. I decided to move forward with the recall because the parts were in stock and I had a couple of good experiences at this shop. I should have trusted my gut. I had my husband take it in the day of because I knew if anything was done wrong he would be able to spot it. Sure enough, when the truck came out the roof liner looked beyond horrible. It was broken in a couple of areas and there was grease all over my truck. They took the truck back to "clean it" and it came back for a second time still dirty. The service advisor argued with my husband about the liner being broken and told my husband that he was lying and that we brought the truck in dirty and with the broken pillar. I take better care of my cars than most people and I know for a fact my truck was clean and without damage. We requested the service managers help. She did not want to pay her technicians time to redo it. My husband asked her to order us a new liner and he would install it himself. She went ahead and ordered the liner. months later we called to see when our liner would be in and they kept pushing us off. We decided to show up at the dealership one day and requested to speak with the manager. They told us she would be in shortly. We waited for almost 2 hours. She never showed up. The service advisors looked into the part tracking and told us it would be another week. We walked over to the parts department and the employee behind the counter told us that the part had been in for weeks. We brought the roof liner home with us that day and my husband installed it himself. I typically take my truck in for small services, but from now on my husband will be doing everything himself. Step One will never get any more of our business. read more

First let me say Lonnie Reaser was a top notch sales person. My husband bought a truck and we ordered my Blazer, all dealing with him when it was Premiere. Now with Step One I can't even talk to someone to schedule service. I have called 5 times just today. I have been transferred to a voice mail for a lady in Ft. Walton Beach, I have been hung up on. Update - gave deposit on car and worked with Scott & Danny on transaction details. At the end had to decline to buy due to a misunderstanding on the taxes & fees part - they declined to give my deposit back even though they had told me prior to my deposit that they had others wanting to buy if I didn't. Mike, COO, stepped in and refunded deposit and so am raising my rating. I believe that StepOne did the right thing and could be trusted without buyers remorse to purchase a vehicle - just have to make sure everyone on the same page for the transaction. read more

My experience with Chevrelet Bessemmer and Grant Copeland was the best! I'm "Greg from Pell City" with Storm Restoration Roofing and everyone knows how important my truck is! I was looking for a specific type and color that would go with my advertising wrap and this task was far more difficult than I had planned on. Inventories at all dealerships are down and they're just wasn't a bunch to select from. I hadn't gotten out my car completely when I was treated by a kind young man that was respectful and had been trained properly. He was more concerned with my needs and wants than trying to find out where I worked? That question is a car salesman way to find out if you can afford a car? He was knowledgeable of his brand, options and the inventory of his dealership. If I buy a Chevy I will buy from him in a heartbeat. Right now I'm still undecided on the type of vehicle I'm going to buy. Unfortunately I drove a BENZ last week and I didn't want to get out of it. It was a van that can be modified with a ramp for my brother but I can't stress how much I love that van. The worst customer service ever. Got and used car with 200 miles and no spare key. They still haven't made an attempt to help with this $300 key. Then I got a flat 2 months later and surprise no wheel lock in the car. They did nothing to make it right. For $20 I could go to meineke and be done in 20 min, but with this place it's a 45 min job. read more

I called here on 5/6/21 ready to purchase a brand new suburban. When they transferred me to sales I spoke with Donnie who said he'd let me know if the 2 suburbans were on the lot. He never called back, so I waited 2 hours and called back for the sales manager who didn't answer. After that I called again and this time I spoke with Pat who said he would check as well and call me back. Shocker he did not call back either!! The next day 5/7/21 to put my theory to the test, I had my husband call and ask if the suburbans were available. He spoke with Brian who went to check and immediately called him back. By then 1 had been sold and the other, their stock holder was out driving around for the next 5 days. So in a nutshell this is a sexist dealership who clearly thinks a woman cannot be taken serious nor can she close a deal on her own. Time is money and if I was the manger at premier I would want to know who was costing my business not only money but other future sales. Donnie & Pat need to go because clearly they're not interested in selling 62k + vehicles. I'm now happy with my new purchase that I went out and got on 5/7/21 at a different dealership. My salesman, Wallace Herman, was gentle and kind- not the pushy, wheeling-and-dealing, greasy-haired, stereotype by any stretch of the imagination. He was more of an Otis Redding character- someone you'd like to know and have as a friend. He was very honest and straightforward and I am more than certain that I received the very best deal on my Chevy Spark. Their service department has improved steadily over the last few years, and my last visit was pretty impressive. Tire rotation and oil change, my truck was ready before the courtesy vehicle could even get back to pick me up. All of the work on the work order was completed, and I'm good for another 5,000 miles. I was in transit and stopped in for an oil change. I asked for and received a shuttle ride across the street for breakfast, we had breakfast came back an hour later and our vehicle still sitting in service drive. after an hour and half we were ready to go. got in vehicle and the oil sticker was not replaced, oil change light was not reset and tire pressures were not adjusted. I have worked in the dealership world for over 45 years and think the service department could use some improvement. read more

On Friday August 14th I took my truck to Premiere Chevy for a engine problem. when I pulled up to a stop sign my truck would not idle and die. I drove my truck from McCalla to Bessemer and dropped it off with Daniel in the service department that morning. I went from the dealership to Enterprise car rentals and rented a car for the day to make my meetings. Later in the afternoon when I returned to see what progress they had made I was told they had narrowed it down to a short in the electrical system or the computer was bad. I drove back home to Georgia that night since it was going to take them a few days and I had to be in Kansas City on Monday. On Tuesday the 18th Daniel called me to let me know that it was not a computer problem or a short in the electrical system but it was actual a bad mass air flow sensor and a bad catalytic converters. I asked how much this was going to cost and was told $1100 for the catalytic converters and $600 for the mass air flow sensor. I did some research and found both prices to be extremely high but wanted to get my truck fixed and gave them the ok. Later in the week on the 20th I was called back and informed that the catalytic converter had not fixed my problem and that my piston rings were bad and leaking by. I asked what this meant and was told that I needed a new engine and for $7500.00 they could do this for me. I asked why they wouldn't just replace the piston ring seals and was told the price would be about the same price. I told Daniel that I would need a few hours to think about and that I would get back to him. I called Daniel later that evening and informed him that I wanted him to put my truck back together and to take everything off that they had put on because I was going to have it towed home to another mechanic. I asked Daniel what I could expect my bill to be once I got there and was told $300 for installing the new catalytic converter and reinstalling the old one since this took 3 hours labor. When I arrived at the dealership on the 25th to pick my truck up I found that they had not taken off the new catalytic converters and wanted to show me that the left side was bad. When they took me back to show me the catalytic converters the right side looked like it had been knocked loose and once again I instructed them to put it back on so I could drive the truck home. I was told by the dealership that I would never make it home with it in that condition. I ended up waiting 1 hour for them to remove the new catalytic converter and install the old one back(so much for three hours labor!) I drove the truck to the gas station and filled up and drove my truck 250 miles home to my mechanic. After two days of trouble shooting my mechanic found one of the valve springs to be broken and the spark plugs to be fowled out on that side. After replacing the spark plugs and replacing the $6 valve spring I was back on the road. After driving home the exhaust sounded different so later in the week I removed the Catalytic converters and looked inside and found that the driver side was removed or hollowed out and the passenger side was still intact. When the mechanic tightened up the bolt on the flanges the passenger side was over torqued and required a torch to heat the nuts in order to remove the stuck nuts. I drove back to the dealership to speak with the service manager and explained what had happened and was told he would look into it and I still am waiting for a call back to see what the outcome is. I now have a truck that has a damaged exhaust system. I feel like since I was out of town and was having problems with my truck that the service department felt like they could take advantage of me. They were trying to soak me for $9200.00 dollars for a $6 valve spring. Come to find out this is a common problem for this type of engine and either #1 or #8 valve spring usually breaks. I know the dealership should have easily caught this problem and there for was trying to get me for everything they could. To add insult to the problem the dealership offered to give me $3000.00 for my 2007 Chevy Silverado truck as a trade in when I had just received a offer for $14,000 the month before. The service department sucks!!! I had called the day before to schedule an appointment to come in today. I get there on right time AS SCHEDULED thinking they would raise the service department garage door, so I could bring my car in for service. Nope!! That didn't happen. I sat there a long time waiting in my car waiting for someone to greet me asking if I needed any help or something. Nope!! People was coming and going on about their business while totally ignoring me sitting in the car waiting on whoever to come TALK to me. That did not happen. Then a female employee finally comes out to SPEAK to me to see what I need. She tells me the employees said they came out to TALK to me about what I need. That is a damn lie!!! No one came to speak to me about what I need help with. One of the service department guys came out to smoke a cigarette as he stood there and WATCHED me the whole time sitting in the car waiting to be greeted and serviced and did nothing to help. Then they claimed they did not have me scheduled to come in at 10 am today to get service. That is bull$h!#!! I specifically talked to a lady who works there yesterday, and she told me I could come in today at 10 am. read more
