We had the choice of staying with her or trying a new therapist named Marcy. My initial reaction was to go with Leida because spending an hour with her had become one of the highlights of my daughter's week. However, the more I thought about the dreaded Evanston traffic (especially at the time of our appointment- 5pm) I thought staying in Highland Park would make more sense. And so we decided to test out Marcy. It turns out my daughter enjoys spending time with Marcy just as much as she did with Leida. It probably didn't hurt that Marcy quickly picked up on her love of all things princesses and pulled out the princess puzzles, books, etc from day one. My daughter greets her with the biggest smile every week and can't wait to tell me about all the fun things they did together on the way home. And most importantly I've seen lots of great progress as I've watched her jump and climb higher (perhaps a bit too high) than she's ever been able to in the past. Based on the hour I spend waiting/working from the waiting room every week I don't think you can go wrong with any therapist here, but if you're looking for PT I highly recommend Marcy. And if Evanston makes more sense for you Leida is your gal!

The consultation recommended some additional 1:1 with a therapist..an amazing therapist but more on that later. Although not worried about my little buddy I also wasn't going to stick my head in the sand and ignore a potential problem so I quickly got on-board. Next step was my wife crying in the waiting room as our not yet 3 yo went in for his 1:1, full disclosure I wasn't there or would have been a blubbering mess!! Then my son starts talking about Ms. Meghan who I assume is a new teacher at pre-school..but then he starts asking about seeing her the day before a non-school day and I finally occurs to me to ask my lovely wife who Ms Meghan is??! Meghan is the amazing therapist referred to above (see you didn't have to wait too long!) that my son has grown to love seeing as much as he loves seeing his cat (and that's a lot!!). Of equal, ok of more importance is the development of his language skills. He has made great progress with Meghan's help and I have even less concerns that he will just as verbose as his mom and dad. Last Monday November 25 I called at 8 AM to notify patient coordinator that my babies are sick and we have to cancel our 3 PM appointment. In an hour I received 2 reminders about our upcoming appointments, so I called again to make sure the care coordinator really cancelled my appointments. I was assured that she cancelled and these reminders I got are came automatically. When I asked Why I have to pay "non showing fee" the care coordinator named Des'Ree said I had to notify her 24 hours upfront. Ok, how I can predict all sickness which can happen with 14 months twins? I notified her 7 hours upfront as soon as possible.To say that I was angry is to say nothing. In October the same care coordinator charged me for 30 minutes sessions as a one hour session. So in that case I also didn't get any clarification. I want to say that with previous care coordinator we did not have any issues. She always greeted us compare to a new lady who never say any kind of greetings for me or for babies. I guess small kids deserve a little "care" .At the same day outstanding balances were removed from both accounts. One day later these "fees" appeared again on my babies accounts. To be clear of my experience: Therapist was outstanding…read more Reason behind my rating: When I had originally enrolled my son to work with this facility my first and most important request was that he would have the ability to work with the same therapist. In receiving services with cps there was a lot inconsistency with services and the therapist was changing frequently. So naturally I thought that if we paid for private services this problem can be avoided. So I searched for a private practice . I was assured that the request for having my child consistently work with the same therapist would be fulfilled. Those assurances gave me peace of mind and with that we enroll our child. Now I'm being informed that my child will no longer be able to work with the same therapist due to policy change. I asked what the out of pocket expense would be to keep my son with the same therapist and was informed that "regrettably" that wasn't an option. Again I re-iterated to the facility prior to enrollment the importance it was for me to have 1 instructor work with my child. And now (a few short months later) my family and I can no longer be accommodated.

Nothing wrong with those specific ones but she just never really adjusted. Big Barn has been so understanding and helpful. She comes home every afternoon with a smile on her face. She's learning and making friends. Couldn't ask for more. They're very communicative and flexible. I wish I would have found them sooner.
