I was…read moreapprehensive (to say the least) about putting him in daycare, but it was something I needed to do. So I did my due diligence and started hours and hours of research. The usual "chain" daycare names came up, but I didn't really want to go that route. My husband and I set aside a day to do some visits to non-chain daycares that were reviewed well and thought they were fine, but I didn't think I had found "the one." So as we drove home I did one last search and Kids Kampus came up - we called and were told we could come tour anytime so we dropped in 5 minutes later. I was immediately struck by how friendly Maria (who had answered my call) was. She gladly toured us around the center and answered our hundreds of questions - even answered some things we didn't think to ask. As we looked around, we were struck by how clean the facilities were, how well equipped every room was, the great outdoor play area, and how kind all the teachers were. But mostly we noticed how much fun the kids seemed to be having. I walked out knowing I had found the one. In 2 years, Kids Kampus has been amazing. They were fully cooperative, compliant, and glad to work with us regarding our son's food allergies. They educated themselves on food allergies, cross-contamination, worked with their outside caterer on special requests, and anything else we were concerned about without hesitation. They also accommodate his speech therapy without hesitation. I've got a little boy who is FULL of energy (and opinions) and they've always treated him as if he were one of their own. Everyone from the owners to directors to staff is patient, kind, and always go above and beyond. I have never had a moment's hesitation about my son's health, safety, or happiness in their care. And the app they use to keep track of his day is pretty cool, too! I recommend Kids Kampus to everyone who asks about high quality care for their children. We'll miss them when it's time for him to start school.

I am looking at these reviews and trying to figure out how their reviews are this high. It is very misleading!! PLEASE, if you care about the sake of your child's health and well-being, do not send your child here!! THIS PLACE IS FILLED WITH ALL YOUNG PEOPLE WHO EITHER DON'T HAVE KIDS OR DON'T KNOW A THING A KIDS. AND ONE OLD LADY IN THE BABIES' ROOM. Unfortunately, I sent my daughter to this daycare for over six months. They seemed like a good daycare the day I was touring the facility, but as time passed, more and more things started to reveal themselves. Every time I would pick up my child, she had dried up snot all over her face, and not only that, that place started having a foul smell when I would walk into the facility like they were not cleaning anything at all. Yes, I get that kids cry, but why not use a wipe to ensure that their faces are clean? They will neglect your child and have them just crying in the crib, trying to get them to shut up. My mother and I witnessed it when we would drop in. They leave the kids to wipe their noses themselves, and that's exactly how the germs and sickness were spread constantly. Damn, nearly every month of my child being in the facility, she was sick, constantly coughing, and having diaper rashes because they would not change her diaper in a timely manner. This "day"care" is not dependable. It was days they would text our phone SAME DAY, stating that they did not have enough teachers to support the classroom, so I would have to pick my daughter up earlier. 10/11 am most days because of their need for more staff. Also, the director, Jill, was very rude. I would call her, and she would not answer, so I had to leave voicemails. Instead of returning my call, she would email me at the end of her work day to avoid me altogether. Whenever I saw her in the facility, she never spoke to me or my child. What kind of atmosphere is that to have your child in? My last straw with them was when I picked my child up, and she had dried blood coming out her nose, and no one could explain what happened. THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR tried to tell me her nose MAY HAVE started bleeding because of the cold air.GTFOH! WHY TF SHOULD A FACILITY BE THIS COLD FOR MY INFANT DAUGHTER'S NOSE TO BLEED, AND IT TAKES ME TO COME TO PICK HER UP FOR ME TO ADDRESS IT. My daughter's nose has never started bleeding randomly, NEVER! I told them to check the cameras, and they stated that this place had no cameras. THEN I CHECKED THE REPORT AND THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR LIED AND STATED IT WAS "DRIED BOOGERS AND NO BLOOD TO COVER THEIR ASS OF NEGLIGENCE. WHAT BOOGERS BLEED?! GTFOH! IT'S A REASON THEY DON'T HAVE ANY BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY DON'T TAKE CARE OF THOSE KIDS! That was the last day I had my daughter attend that school. I transferred her immediately. This place should be shut down because it is no place for ANY CHILD, especially those who can not talk.

Many of us still have our children there years later. I would say the two biggest drivers are the people and the activities. The director is extremely focused on activities and events - this includes lots of socials, trips, etc. We've met many wonderful teachers over the years. Our kids have admired many of them! We got regular updates on what the kids were doing. I really appreciated the proactive approach that the Director took to keep everyone healthy during cold and flu season by limiting visitors and exposure opportunities too. The group is fabulous and takes advantage of their location to downtown Lombard. My little one just started school with her older siblings and was so well prepared and eager to be off to a "big school" after her year at Creative Day. We also can't wait to come back for the summer program next year.

At one point we considered holding him back for a year to make sure he would be ready. But Kensington helped prepare him, making our worries disappear. Between the teachers working with him every day and the Jolly Phonics books they use, he is reading almost as well as his second-grade sister. He has such a head start now and we have no worries about him being so close to the age cut-off. Kensington is a preschool that puts a lot of emphasis on learning, not just playing. The kids are always doing fun projects, learning about trees and plants by planting their own gardens, or learning about animals by raising caterpillars into butterflies and letting them out into the wild. The classroom walls are always covered with artwork and results of their latest science projects. Our son moved through three classrooms with three sets of teachers as he grew, and he loved all of them. He looked forward to school every day and made some great friends in the process.
