My son attended there for two months at the end of 2020 in the toddler room. The teachers and directors are absolutely amazing. They have an app to get constant updates and photos/videos and they all have been very accommodating to certain needs I had in order to support the work being done with my son's speech therapist and nutritionist. They also take Covid-19 very seriously. They don't allow anyone but the children inside the building(pickup/drop off is done on the porch), teachers and students over two always wears masks(and parents have to wear masks at pickup/drop off), they take the temp of the children and parents at drop off, and every day when I would pick up my son I could see teachers/aids through the window in the door cleaning/sanitizing toys. Also, the few times they did have a potential threat they closed the school for a week, longer in the rooms where the threat occurred, and had professional sanitizing done in the entire facility. Yes, it was a pain to go without childcare for a week or two but we didn't have to pay for that time and I personally think it is worth it for the safety of my family. However, in December my son was suddenly diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. In fact, it was the detailed reports from Kindercare about my son's urine output and behavior change that helped us determine something was wrong and led to the discovery that he has a tumor in his bladder. Being non-verbal at almost two we may not have discovered it as soon without their thorough attentiveness and feedback. Needless to say this was a very emotional and stressful time for our family and the angel of a director started a meal train, as well as working with the staff and families to put together a giant gift basket of toys and snacks for my son. The outpouring of support from the staff and the other families(who didn't even know us) has been absolutely overwhelming, in the best way possible. Just writing this brings tears to my eyes. We had only been with them for a few months, but we were already a part of the family. They held our spot, at no charge, and now that we have a grasp on handling his cancer treatments, we will be returning later this month. They are letting him return to the toddler room, even though he has since turned 2, because it's familiar and he's a bit out of sorts right now from everything he's going through. They will wait to move him to the 2 year old room until he gets comfortable being back. In the short time my son was there last year his language and social development increased DRAMATICALLY. He's still non-verbal, but before we had to take a leave of absence he was so close to talking I could taste it!!!! I can't wait to get him back there as soon as possible. Every classroom we went through had caring, knowledgeable teachers who truly understood what they were doing. They were attentive to my daughter's individual needs, receptive to my requests, and consistently provided age-appropriate activities that kept the children engaged and happy. The upper administration is professional, responsive, and clearly takes great pride in the school. I especially appreciated that they have their own children attend the center as well--it speaks volumes about the trust they have in their own program. Any concern I ever brought to leadership was addressed quickly and promptly. Most importantly, my daughter absolutely loved going here. We only left because she is now enrolled in private school, otherwise we would have happily continued. I am a very picky parent and have high standards when it comes to my child's care, and this daycare consistently met them. I am incredibly grateful for the care and support they provided my daughter over the past 3.5 years. The first time I visited the daycare alone, I noticed what appeared to be reluctance and a lack of warmth from the two ladies working in the administration office. However, I chose not to make assumptions and continued with the enrollment process. I was informed that I needed to bring my child in for an observation. When my wife, my child, and I arrived for the observation, I noticed that there were no Black children in attendance. Again, I did not think much of it and remained positive about the opportunity for my child. After the observation, my wife and I were informed that our child would not be accepted into the program. The explanation given was that she would not fit in because she was coming from a smaller social environment and might have difficulty adjusting to a larger classroom setting. While I understand that schools must assess whether they can meet a child's needs, the way this decision was communicated left us feeling uncomfortable and singled out. I asked directly whether the decision had anything to do with my child's race. Heather, the manager, quickly responded that it did not. However, her response did little to address my concerns, and I felt that my question was dismissed rather than genuinely considered. The entire interaction left my family feeling unwelcome and discriminated against. As parents, we want our child to be evaluated fairly based on her abilities and potential, not on assumptions or biases. Every child deserves an inclusive and welcoming environment where they are given the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. This experience was deeply hurtful and disappointing for our family, and it has left us questioning whether diversity, equity, and inclusion are truly valued at this daycare center.

We have built long-lasting friendships that have survived different elementary schools and activities due to the tight bond the children built while at AMT. The same teachers that welcomed our oldest child when we first started so many years ago are the same teachers that are seeing our youngest child off to kindergarten at the end of this year. The consistency of staffing and lack of turnover are truly unique and it is one of the primary factors that led us to AMT in the first place (and we have not been disappointed!). There will be many tears shed by multiple members of our family when our last child graduates and we move on from this phenomenal, nurturing, home-away-from-home that has been so instrumental in the development of who our children have become. We are eternally grateful for the incredible staff and administration at AMT who have made the lives of these two working parents so much easier and less stressful knowing our children are in the most capable and loving care while away from us.

In addition there is a huge gym for indoor play and new playgrounds (one for toddlers and one for older children) that my children love. My children have attended a handful of daycares in the area due to covid closures; since starting ACDS in 2021 I have been consistently pleased with ACDS' compassionate teachers, routines, and communication. The director is strong in her leadership and vision. She is very easy to approach with questions and is also hands on with the children. I give ACDS a 10 out of 10.

Even now that the abuser does not work there, we have been promised access to video cameras and that has not happened. I've generally found the staff to be very unfriendly and unhelpful sending parents notes like "Leave headbands in the car. This is not a hair salon." and refusing to help potty train saying, "Once you have potty trained at home, we will follow up." How does someone potty train a toddler only certain parts of the day?!?! I would not recommend this school.

Nothing was or is being done about it. Since it's "normal and acceptable" behavior! Do your research, I'm far from the first to pull my children! If you want peace of mind while you are working and can not be with your children, then please find somewhere else! It's sad, they go through so many teachers..i no longer wonder why. But there are and have been some good teachers that actually care! It is disorganized with your children constantly being transferred back and forth from class room to class room leaving you never knowing where to drop them off or pick them up. Considering the cost (even of you get government assistance), this place is not the place to send any child!
