My family and I love Rainbow Academy…read more It was stressful evaluating the choices of what to do when it was time for me to go back to work after having our first child. We knew she loved being around other children, so we thought we would give daycare a shot. We're so happy we found Rainbow Academy. They go above an beyond for the children. Even though our daughter is still an infant, they keep her engaged with daily activities and tons of seasonal celebrations. We were able to take the morning off and come take her trick-or-treating with her class. That was so cool to us! All these little things add up, and we know she's being taken care of very, very well. Plus, our daughter loves it there. I was able to go back to work full-time sooner than I thought because of how much she loves it. She's attached to her teachers and has a blast all day. Her teachers helped her adjust to the daily routine, and we see the benefits all the time of the love and devotion they put into her every day. She comes home so happy (and tired from a big day of play!) and we notice her picking up new skills. I also love that they separate the infants into the really small children and the older children. It gives our daughter a chance to get more focused attention on the things she needs to be working on. I also appreciate how much charity work this business does. For instance they are currently having a drive to create care packages for soldiers. That kind of environment is exactly what growing children need to be immersed in.

Ownership and…read moremanagement truly care about the kids and are very hands-on themselves in the overall care and attentiveness to their kids and facilities. The education and curriculum is far superior then most other daycares. The place is extremely clean as well. I would not recommend this school. We had a terrible experience there with our 4-year-old, whose…read moreattendance at the school was a short 4-months. From just a few weeks in, we noticed that he was more irritable, and somewhat sad on a fairly regular basis. He would constantly ask us to stay home, stating that he "hated" his new school. We also noticed that there were constantly new teacher assistants, (none of whom would ever introduce themselves), and he was switched into a new class just 2 months after he started. He began asking us if he was a bad kid and he also started telling us that he would "never let us down." For context, he attended a wonderful Goddard school prior to our move back to the area, and we never had any problems. We had an in-person meeting with the school's administrators to address some of the concerns. He was put a plan to help "correct" his troublesome behavior, and 1-week later, without warning, we were contacted and told that he could no longer attend. On his final day, he came home and told us that his teacher told him he was leaving the school because he was a bad kid. The administration told us we should have him evaluated as his behavior was "troublesome". Against our better judgement, we had lengthy meetings with both our pediatrician and an outside evaluator, and both informed us that he was a perfectly normal 4-year-old. They both agreed that they thought something else was going on at the school that we had not been privy to. It's been 2 months since we left Goddard, and our son is a different person. He is so much happier, and his "spark" seems to be back. In summation, this school does not care about the children that attend. And the insinuation that something was "wrong" with our kid was beyond reproach. In retrospect, I am grateful our tenure was short-lived and would not recommend this school.

If I could give Diana more than five stars, I would…read more Diana has cared for my two sons (ages 2 and 4), and she has created such special memories with them that they still ask when they can go back to "Diana's house." Every time we drive by, they excitedly wave out the window and yell, "Hi, Diana!" That alone speaks volumes about the love and care they've received. From day one, Diana made me feel completely at ease. Before her, I had never sent my children outside our home for daycare, so this was a huge leap of faith for our family. After meeting her and seeing her interact with my boys during a trial playdate, I knew they were in wonderful hands. I have never once felt nervous leaving them with her. Diana goes above and beyond in every way. She is an excellent communicator, keeps a daily journal of the children's activities for parents to read, and regularly sends home printed photos that have become treasured keepsakes for our family. She is consistently upbeat, patient, and brings so much positivity into her home each day. What makes Diana truly exceptional is that she doesn't simply supervise children - she genuinely engages with them. She thoughtfully plans activities, encourages learning through play, and creates an environment where the children build meaningful friendships and a true sense of community. My boys absolutely flourished in her care. I also deeply appreciate how responsible and attentive she is. During bad weather or power outages, she always reached out to check in with parents and keep us informed about how the children were doing. That level of care and professionalism meant so much to us. Our family's needs have changed now that our boys are starting school, but choosing to leave Diana has been bittersweet. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done for our family, and if we ever need childcare again, she will be the very first person we call. Thank you, Diana, for loving our boys so well. We couldn't have asked for a better daycare provider.

Director Amanda is excellent and responsive. My son was in the Pre-K room there and my daughter in the 2s and then Preschool Rooms. Megan is/was the Pre-K teacher and I adored her. She was open and up front with the parents. Which is always appreciated. Paulina was my daughter's teacher for the majority of the time she was there and I miss her. She was sunshine. A couple of things I didn't care for: When we'd pick up the kids (at 4:15) my daughter's preschool class was often mixed in with the Pre-K class. And the same when we'd drop them off in the morning. At those times, I kind of felt like they were never doing anything....always running around playing but not doing anything organized. And by running around playing I mean that it came across as complete chaos sometimes. In the end the school did not offer Kindergarten so that is why we pulled my kids out. The school is pretty new, considering the ages of many of the places around here...so I think in time and when there are more kids there, that the kink I mentioned above may work themselves out.

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Mini Steps! As a former employee (director…read morequalified) of five years at KinderCare and an early education major, I held Mini Steps to high standards going in. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised to realize that I could drop my children off at a "non-chain" daycare and receive exceptional care at an affordable price. My youngest son started attending Mini Steps when he was only 10 weeks old. As a single mom, nothing was harder for me than leaving my newborn at daycare while I went to work every day. The quality of loving care and nurturing that he received on a daily basis from Ms. Marie and Ms. Jan was beyond any of my expectations. I quickly felt at ease leaving my newborn at Mini Steps in the loving and capable hands of the staff there. As my newborn grew and moved up to the toddler room, the transition was so easy and natural because he was already so comfortable and attached to Ms. Jan. From the toddler room he moved on to the 2s room with Ms. Sarah and again, I have nothing but amazing things to say. Ms. Sarah loved my son as she loved her own, and I knew that he was in the best hands possible. In the 3s room with Ms. Robbin and the 4s room with Ms. Barbara my son grew into the adorable, stubborn, hard-headed, sweet, hilarious, and smart child that he is today. He loved going to school and playing with his friends, and I loved how much he was learning through play and not even realizing it! My oldest son was a schoolager when he started Mini Steps in first grade. We both love Ms. Kay and cannot say enough wonderful things about her! She is a teacher and friend to her students, which can sometimes be a hard combination, but it comes as second nature to Ms. Kay. Not only is she caring and compassionate, she is strict when she needs to be. I recently purchased a new home in a new school district and had no other choice but to remove my children from Mini Steps. I cried on their last day. How do you say "Thank You" to the amazing teachers who helped you raise your children for 5 years?? Words just don't seem like enough. Tracie and Moe, thank you for giving me peace of mind every single day for 5 years while I was away from my boys. Thank you to the entire staff of Mini Steps for loving my boys the way I do. I will forever be grateful. xoxo
