Great place. They all seem very helpful and work well with each other in a way you would think they were friends forever. Front staff very friendly and accommodating. Great personality. They make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. Very clean environment. And my therapist, Julia, was absolutely fantastic. I seen her work with patients of all ages. Works very well with everyone she sees. Makes you relax and builds rapport with you in an instant. Lucky you if she is working with you. Better yet, ask for her. My mother who is in her late 70s and doesn't speak great English was being seen for knee replacement therapy. The pt she worked with Rama Khatib - was very aggressive in her treatment , but backed off a bit when told she was causing pain. She backed off so much that my mother progressed very little. She was also observed to be rude to my mother as she was frustrated. My mom can't speak great English but is not dumb - and could see Rama being much more kind to her other patients and left my mom on the bike for 30 minutes without much intervention or care. Rama and I spoke to each other several times - and she didn't say much - except 'that's what I'm saying' when I would point things out that my mom needed to improve. Would never return here and never recommend to anyone. read more

I am currently receiving physical therapy at Athletico North for a partial knee replacement. I had previously received PT here for: a total knee replacement on my other knee, issues with my shoulder, and plantar fasciitis. I cannot say enough about this facility. Dan N. has been my therapist for all but my foot and he is the best of the best. He asks me each session how things are and if I am having a problem then he will direct therapy to help with that issue. I always have questions and Dan is always able to answer them - he knows his stuff! Jake, physical therapy assistant, is also very skilled. If Dan is working with another patient or off, Jake can easily step in and provide excellent physical therapy. Athletico North has been my choice over and over and if I have PT needs in the future, I will certainly choose to return. read more

After having a reverse shoulder replacement, my surgeon, Dr. Drake, recommended I receive physical therapy at Athletico. Nicole at the front desk, easily scheduled by initial eval and all follow up PT appointments. Nicole greets me on each of my visits which is very welcoming. My Physical Therapist is Derek. He is extremely knowledgeable about shoulders and shoulder replacements. He set a program for me to gain and expand my range of motion, soon building strength back. He shows concern as to how my shoulder is functioning in daily life skills. Jacob and Alyssa are the assistants that are at therapy on the days and times I am there. They are very helpful in assisting in equipment that I may need and or adjustments. They keep the equipment clean, sanitized  and organized. Everyone has been very personable and welcoming. To date it has been a very positive experience. read more

This facility is overcrowded. Space is small and limited, forcing programs to readjust to available equipment and/or space available. I was scheduled for work conditioning, 5 hours, 3 times per week for a total of 18 visits. As far as billing, Athletico gets paid for 2 hours/visit, but can extend and get paid for more, not to exceed 5 hours. Athletico starts programs at 5 hours, before assessing the client, which may be considered an unnecessary use of time and money. Patients can take a 15 minute break on an empty chair, the entryway in the reception area or in your car in the middle a 5 hour session. Please know there are other facilities out there that do not just see the $$$ but want you to succeed. Do your research and find a facility that caters to your healing in a nice environment. read more

I had ankle surgery and I started with PT at this place. I did not like the service due to the reasons below: - The therapist does not focus on your treatment - He was focused on more than 4 people at the same time - It seems they are more focused to bring you in for more sessions - They are more focused on business side of treatment than treatment itself - Now I went to a new location with much better service with 1/3 of a charge!! Nicole, Betsy & Jackie are absolutely wonderful! I feel like I'm truly in great hands here! Finally! Something is giving me some hope for my severely painful ailments! I had a private room consult with Jacquelyn "Jackie" Hendrix, PT, DPT, LMT and I felt like I could really talk to her, she was so chill and just an awesome lady, I really felt comfortable opening up to her. I learned that she actually was a massage therapist for 10 years (I think?) prior to being a PT, which was music to my ears, because my referring MD really wanted me working with someone who could give me the "manual physical therapy" I needed for my case and my ailments. I set appointments for the next several weeks with Nicole at the front desk, and it was very easy & painless (yay finally something painless). I learned that typically patients only have 30 minute sessions, and are out in the main room on one of the many PT bed/tables, but my individual "special" self needed to have one-hour blocks in a private room...but they totally worked with my schedule and I was able to set up several weeks of appointments with ease. After my initial evaluation appointment today, I left with some hope for healing, with actually SOME ounce of hope that I could get better and return to a normal life... and be able to fully take care of myself , be a normal adult, and return to working... something I have not been able to do for months now. Jackie took great care of me physically and emotionally, and I finally feel like, I might be normal again, which is a huge deal... and if you're looking at this page, and into a physical therapist, you obviously are struggling with some of the same issues as me, and are probably seeking independence as a self-sufficient adult again. I feel hopeful, and like Athletico - Schaumburg will be able to help me with that... it's hugely empowering and I can't wait to "get to work" with Jackie... she seems like the best of the best and I feel very fortunate to have found her, and can't wait to start gaining some progress and pain relief! read more

Well run facility. Although I'm not new to workout regimens, I learned some valuable new knowledge here while treating my torn miniscus knees. Sumeed was my therapist and he was friendly, dedicated and helpful. The workers there seem to apply a team approach to your time there. In one session you may start with one therapist and then get switched to another one, while your original therapist jumps in with someone else. It sounds disruptive, but it's not. I found all the workers there to be upbeat and helpful. read more

Athletico Schaumburg was my first choice for physical therapy based in large part on my husband's previous experience with them. The ladies at the front desk are friendly and greet us with smiles every visit. After a thorough new patient consultation (first visit) I was assigned to a physical therapist who has experience with Neuro patients. Amanda is Awesome! She is professional and knowledgable when working with me. She is always ready for my appointments with new core exercises and information for my situation. Amanda shows genuine concern and patience when assisting me with my excercises. She has created a routine specifically for me, our conversations are stellar and I actually enjoy going. More importantly I am starting to see the benefits from our sessions. The check in process is easy, I received a monthly schedule for visits, the facility is clean, the associates are professional, they offer open floor and private rooms and they are flexible with or without a prescription. Athletico Schaumburg North is hands down the best place for physical therapy. My main therapist, Sophie, was just amazing. Very patient, friendly and so knowledgeable. At one point I also saw other physical therapists, Sarah, Dereck, Jackie and Dan, and they are just as great. I actually looked forward to going because it was a positive atmosphere. They all have great senses of humor but still remain professional. Their aids were very helpful and polite, stepping in to help when needed. Sarah at the front desk always greeted me by my name with a smile. It was nice going to a place where they take time to know you. I will no doubt be going back there when I need to. read more

This review applies to the scheduling experience only. I could never actually schedule an appointment. Not that I did not give them every chance to. I called on a Wednesday to setup a first appt. the person took my info and said she would call back later that day with a time. that afternoon I called again, incase she forgot, but the person who I originally was not available but they would pass the message that I called. The next day no call so that night I scheduled somewhere else without issue. A week later I finally get a call back and she still did not have an appt. but wanted to know if I was able to come in durning my lunch. I have better luck scheduling with a dentist than here. read more

After 6 weeks of therapy, I no longer experience the unbearable nerve pain that I had before coming to Athletico. Neil identified the right treatment and week by week my pain subsided. I chose Athletico for my 3rd ACL reconstruction rehab. It was the best decision I've ever made!!! I wanted people with ACL experience, flexible hours since I have a full time teaching/coaching job, and a place close to work and home. Dan took on a lot with my injury and dedicated his time to researching my history and helping me look towards a preventative future. His assistant, Sewon, came up with new ideas to keep me challenged while also understanding my levels of pain. Katy was always super helpful and nice, and Dawn is the most helpful as well at the front desk. Everyone always was so welcoming and friendly and it made my rehab so much more enjoyable, especially since I was there 2 times a week for 6 months. I will miss them all!! read more

I'm so thankful that if I need PT, I've got Derrick Shields at Athletico Schaumburg North to rely on. He's an amazing physical therapist and he has treated my husband and I for knee issues (my husband had both knees replaced) carpal tunnel, ongoing shoulder issues for me and now I will be having rotator cuff surgery soon. This Athletico office in Schaumburg is staffed by friendly, concerned professionals. The scheduling for appointments was easily accomplished and, if there were any modifications, it was understood and quickly achieved. My physical therapist was Dan N. who assisted me in many exercises and steadfastly encouraged me throughout my treatment. Dan N. introduced new exercises to help me relieve pain so that I would be able to function every day. His care and empathy were outstanding and his demeanor was always cheerful and positive. I have had the best experience with this location. I broke my arm and dislocated my wrist in August which required surgery. I just finished up physical therapy with Alex who really knows her stuff. She was professional, friendly and extremely helpful in my healing process. She spent as much time as I needed to explain the process as well as showing me home exercises and following up with my doctor as to my progress. This is the third time I have been a patient at Athletico in Schaumburg. All of my experiences have been positive. i work in Health care and am probably more critical than the average person. The thearapists (I had Elisa this time and assistant Derrick) are very professional and knowledgeable. This is my 2nd time going to this Athletico with the same therapist and I will for sure be coming back when needed. Before I started this round of therapy, I went to ATI in Elk Grove for 1 session (location was much closer to my house) and it was absolutely horrible and I ran right back to Athletico. This was my 2nd time seeing Jackie, both of my parents also saw Jackie, and I cannot say enough great things about her! She is truly the best of the best, and I am so appreciative to have had her. She is extremely kind, friendly, understanding, attentive and knowledgeable. She always explains the reasoning behind her methods and is very flexible with adjusting or changing exercises if you don't feel they are the best fit. She is also an incredible massage therapist which was great for my chronic pain and stiffness. I recently had a knee injury from going on a ride I never should have gone on! . After having my right knee "scoped", Dr. Murray recommended I have physical therapy to get back to where I was before my injury. A friend recommended Athletico Physical Therapy - Schaumburg North. Man, was that the best advise a friend could have given me. I was introduced to a physical therapist named Kristine H. and in less than 6 weeks she proceeded to give me the best physical therapy my body has ever had! I just graduated from her therapy and I'm so pleased to say, my knee is just like it was before my injury. If you are in need of physical therapy, I totally recommend going to this location and if possible have Kristine work with you. If you can't get Kristine, I would say the other therapists there are also excellent. All of the staff and therapists are very friendly and this place is well run. I have used this facility several times now, and I have had nothing but positive experiences there. The staff is professional, courteous, and very personable. They make an effort to get to know you, I didn't feel like I was just another client to be worked through the schedule. The front desk folks (Nicole and Joe) are great at working with me on scheduling and making changes to visits when I needed them.
