This is DEFINITELY my favorite joint in Downtown De Pere. I have come multiple times for happy hour which is 2-6 M-F, and I've never been disappointed. Was wonderfully surprised by Stella's. Highly recommend the pesto flatbread appetizer and the chicken piccata entree. Finished with the yummy coffee gelato and my daughter had a butterscotch dessert which she loved. Great ambience and excellent service. Will be going again! read more

I have to say the atmosphere is amazing , the food I had an issue with what I ordered as I did not like it. Presentation was great services was great I just did not like the dish as it was not my thing. My wife did like it so it was good just not for me. The thing that got me to write the review was the owner he checked on all the tables in the restaurant and asked us how ours was. I was honest and told him the chicken and waffles they served were just to sweet. He was very respectful and offered to get me something else or even a dessert, but I declined as my wife and I share both our meals. The owner was respectful and listened, just because I did not like it doesn't mean it's not good. The owner put this place to 5 stars and the old fashion slush. read more

This was one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had! We came in and the owner immediately greeted us and seated us. He asked us our names and where we were from. He took the time to get to know us and even remembered our names throughout the night. The service was fast, the drink menu had great craft beer selections, and the food menu is creative and well priced for the quality. We started with a bowl of the French onion soup and it was spot on. Very flavorful and the cheese was hot and melty! We also had the bruschetta for an appetizer. 6 pieces piled high with bruschetta and a slice of fresh mozzarella. Wow this was great. The balsamic glaze is fantastic. My wife ordered the alfredo. I'm not an Alfredo fan but I couldn't stop eating her pasta. The fresh spinach in it provided a great addition to the sauce. I ordered the sausage and pepperoni flatbread which was spot on and a side Caesar salad which was also great. The sauce on the flatbread was homemade and the crust was crispy. The Caesar dressing tasted homemade and excellent. Overall this was a fantastic experience and we will definitely recommend to anyone coming to the area. We wish we could move this restaurant next to our house back in Des Moines! read more

My wife and I had dinner here recently, and will certainly be back! I ordered the seared scallops and mushroom fried rice, and it was absolutely fantastic! My wife had the Pork Belly with Brussels Sprouts and corn bread which was equally as good. The menu is a very refreshing change of pace from the standard offerings from most eating establishments. But nothing is grosser than cold poached eggs over soggy, cold hash browns and partially thawed "lobster" pieces covered with cold, tasteless hollandaise. Very nice experience at Stella's. Wonderful service and the food is great. I would highly recommend the Braised Short Ribs, this is one of the best I've had in the area. Melt in your mouth beef, with a bed of spinach and a wonderful sauce. The meatballs were to die for as well. Tender, served with spaghetti and lightly sauced. Cool place. Love the atmosphere. Cozy. We sat in the bar with doors/windows open to outside. They also have seating on the warm patio out back, in the restaurant and in the bar. Service always very good. Food very good! I've had several menu items all very good. And they carry my favorite wine! Manager owner walks around and is very friendly. Love this place! The atmosphere is charming and quaint. The appetizer Bruchetta was yummy. I also ordered Pasta Alfredo, which had almost zero sauce and zero taste. It tasted like buttered noodles. The presentation was lovely, but that's where the food experience ended. This is always what I worry about with places that boast "modern flair" to their food. Wife and I decided to stop by for a date night without the kids and we both had a great experience. Great environment, our waitress was excellent, and food was delicious. I had mushroom fried rice with scallops and my wife had fried asparagus. The meal selection / menu size and drink selection was just right. I found this place to be over priced. We had reservations and I thought it was strange, we were the only ones there. It took almost an hour to get our meal. I had a Caesars salad that was meager to say the best. My main coarse was a small piece of chicken laying in a red watery assortment of olives, spinach, and a few things resembling small tomatoes. It lacked an Italian flavor. The whole time I was there, I kept thinking of Olive Garden. Personally, for the price, I wouldn't go back. The couple we were with felt the same as us. read more

My husband and I went to this restaurant following the recommendation of one of our friends. We had high expectations and were disappointed with our experience. Wait time was long, food was subpar. My husband had steak (he likes it rare) said it was dry and didn't have much for flavor. I had spaghetti and it was so spicy I could hardly eat it, I had to double check the menu as to make sure I didn't miss something, never had spicy spaghetti before. Ambiance is nice. Pretentious as a expected. Drinks are average in price. Ordered the lemon shrimp scampi $23 and the chicken Parmesan $18. Shrimp was ok, more than al dente pasta with no lemon or truffle flavor. Had a plastic aftertaste. The chicken parmigiana tastes like canned spaghetti with a fried chicken breast? Not worth $18? We heard this restaurant had new owners so we wanted to try it. It was an hour wait so we cozied up to the bar. I was happy to see Meiomi Pinot Noir! Well a couple sat down next to us and started up a conversation with the bartender. They started talking about the drama with the staff and this person's not there anymore and this person's coming back and so on. I don't really want to listen to how the staff doesn't get along. Found out the gentleman at the bar owns the building. It just didn't feel like a conversation that needed to happen in front of customers. We were seated after about 45 minutes. We ordered the bruschetta which I thought was really good. I decided on the Pork Tenderloin with Apricot preserves on it and my husband decided on the stuffed tenderloin. I asked what the 1000 layer potatoes were and she didn't know so she went and asked and came out to tell me what they were. They sounded awesome so I asked for those instead of the fingerlings. My husband's meal was supposed to come with mashed potatoes. She left to put our order in and came back after a few minutes and said they were out of the 1000 layer potatoes. Now why wouldn't they have told her that when she asked what they were? Very strange! We got our food and I wasn't too impressed. The meat was really dry and honestly if you didn't get a scoop of the apricots, there was no flavor. The mashed potatoes were terrible. My husband never did get mashed potatoes but instead they substituted the fingerlings. I looked over at one point and noticed the kitchen string still wrapped around his steak. He asked if that was supposed to be there and she said no. She was a really good waitress though and did give us a discount on our bill. read more

Had an excellent meal tonight. The shrimp and grits was very tasty, and my mom loved her salmon. The waiter was very attentive, and the drinks were good. The old-fashioned slushie was yummy! Some of the dishes on the menu seem a little pricey, but it is an upscale restaurant, so I was not that surprised. We will definitely be back. Can't wait for outdoor dining! read more

Ate here for my birthday last night and it was the most awful meal I've ever had. How do you screw up Italian? The sauce & pasta was like paste and the meatballs didn't even remotely taste good.
