Do not use this pool service…read more We have been not stop arguing with this company for month now We have rented a house for a few month here, instead of fixing the issues and sending the correct response to the landlord they send bullsh!t report Some weeks our pool stays green for a week , some weeks it with alge, and some days it clean but rarely One of the last report they sent was "This is will with aloha pools I wanted to let you know the pool was very green because the power to it was shut off so the pool wasn't running I added shock to get the algea gone I wasn't able to vacuumed it because I can't see the bottom but I scrubbed all the walls " Th pool turned really green. We have been telling them for month now the pump is not flowing right. It has good flow a day or 2 , sometimes 3 hrs then it stops working. The pump stays on , the vacuum keeps staying in one spot floating to top , I mentioned to them the wheel got weathered so it was jammed. Then how the pressure keeps going on and off so it not working properly then it can't make it up the hill without the wheel rubber on , an the bag keeps getting caught since the strap is weathered and tore off. None of this was sent to the land lord or mentioned. Until I finally got ahold one of the cleaner that came buy and started asking these questions Then he told me he ads chlorine in the floater everytime they came out. Im like how have u been doing that if I just literally bought that yesterday. Because when we moved in the one here was broken since havent had one in a few months. He changed the conversation to he put chlorine in Then he came out , said he was just a tech so he doesn't clean the pool. He just work on the filter and pumps and stuff. This company make so many excuses and lies it unbelievable for a company to be this bad. I hope you choose a better pool company because we can't get our landlord to change ours so we are having to deal with them still. Today is Wednesday. They come out and suppose to clean the pool but yet we have alge and on the wall a floating vacuum and very minimum pump flow. Looks like the bond was either not applied correctly, didn't get time to dry before the next layer was added or just poorly applied. I am not a pool professional, but I can now see the layers on the chunks of plaster off the bottom of my pool. I was unimpressed after about 6 months after the work was first completed. Trying to get a response after money was paid was impossible. May be good for pool cleaning, but I would NEVER invest in having them do another major pool job.

Barely got through one year of a very expensive resurface high end product and gray dots started popping up here and there... at year 2, they've made it all the way to the spa. I've tried talking to Mike / Justin about it and he's so all over the board. So said he no longer uses the team who resurfaced our pool ... he sent out a guy who said he could dump chemicals in and it would take it all up , but he couldn't guarantee it. $900 dollars for a gamble is way out of my comfort zone. Have tried communicating with Mike / Justin but omg he's so not on this planet. I hope he's well it was so obvious he couldn't concentrate and had heavy trouble keeping track with a conversation. That being said, I can not recommend this company . Great on the front end, but nothing on follow up. Only up sales and odd customer service. We'll have to resurface our pool to clean out their poor workmanship and drop another huge expensive amount of money to fix this mess. I have read in my research that the product used was not applied correctly and not allowed to dry correctly. Between all of the rain, they had to excavate, wait for the ground to dry, then come back to install the pool, pour the concrete footing, complete the backfill, do the framing, and finally pour the concrete decking--all while working around the rainstorms. They made the best use of every dry day they had. The entire team was professional, courteous, and respectful of my work schedule, making the process as easy as possible for me. Now that everything is complete and the weather has finally cooperated, we are absolutely loving our new backyard! The pool and decking turned out beautiful, and it was worth the wait. I really appreciated the informative contract that they go over with you. It has lots of information and any questions I had they answered. It was super easy to text or email them and get a response. They don't take accountability for anything and are blaming everything on a third party contractor that we had no knowledge from the beginning that they would even be a part of our project. Now they are withholding our refund until we sign a form releasing them of any accountability. That is not standard business practice. Also Mike W. who commented on these reviews that he had a spa and pool put up by the company is the owner of NTX pools along with his wife Shara W. its public record...look it up. we were told by their son who does the installations on the pools that our refund would be coming and they still refuse to give it to us and are no longer answering our emails. response to their comment: Every company that I have ever worked with has been up front that they will be using a third party. We were never told that. I do know how things work so don't try to patronize me. we have signed forms that the work is done after every step. You are adding in a new form and trying to get us to sign it. There is no "going to bat for us". My contract was not with the concrete company it was with NTX/NTXI. You told me at the beginning that the patio wall would be $2500. Then when it came time for us to get the refund you tried to say it would only be $1800. we argued back and fourth with you about it. It wasn't until i looked back at my emails and found where you had stated what the price of the wall was originally that you finally agreed to it yet still haven't given it to us. Obviously I'm not the only one with these complaints so please tell me who is being untruthful? Initially I thought I had found the…read moreperfect company (I got the "we'll fix your gate latch" treatment and they loved the family dog in the sales meeting...). That has all subsided and it has been a very poor experience. I have never written a negative review of any business prior to using Ranger Pools, but I feel compelled to inform others of my experience. The issue arose when I noticed a leak in my pump, of which I could tell they left a piece off the equipment when servicing it. What followed was 2-3 weeks of frustration in them not addressing the issue (after they took the piece off). They either responded with a quick note about they will fix it tomorrow or no response at all. My frustrations really escalated when they made regularly weekly visits and did not fix it - they would send out the "everything's good" type of weekly status report. The only way I could get them to address my concern was writing a Yelp review. A few minutes after that went up they sent an email asking what I wanted. I said I know you haven't been servicing my pool to my expectations for at least the last month, please fix my leak and give me the last month's charges back and in return I would remove the Yelp review. They fixed the pump finally, but to this point there is no refund. As unorganized as they are, I'm just watching for the next month's recurring charge, even though I cancelled them long ago. I hired a new company to come out and I got even more shock. Despite the most recent weekly report from Ranger showing cyanuric acid levels as 30-50 ppm which they labelled "ideal," the new company found the level to be 300 ppm! For those that don't know, this is a chemical that slows down the reaction of chlorine so it doesn't evaporate too quickly. When you get a level over 100 ppm you essentially lock up the chlorine from working at all. And you can't get it out of your water, overtime fresh water will dilute it but at levels as high as I have I am left with the likely option of having my water pumped out and having to start fresh. This is because bacteria and algae will be certain and there are some health concerns in having that high of level of acid. Of course, with North Texas water restrictions I may have some hoops to jump through and some extended loss of use. To verify the new company had a correct reading, I took it to Leslie's and unfortunately they came up with a similar result and prognosis. The pool will need to be drained. I've tried to reach Brandon and the tech numerous times throughout this to reach a resolution and correspondence is limited and they take no responsibility. How in the world did it go from "ideal" to disaster in a 7 to 10 day period? Or did this happen in a 10 day period (Leslie's staff tells me you'd almost have to try to do that in that short of period)? Did the tech lack the knowledge to do the readings or did he just skip over parts of the service? These are all things I am wondering. One thing is for sure, they are very careless with my property. It was common to find pool items strung across the yard and landscaping, computer boxes on the equipment left open, leaves remaining in pump baskets and the gate was always left unlatched for the dog to escape if we didn't notice it first. Brandon's response to what happened and the possible resolution, written 10/1/14: "Jay We call it old water and it happens to every pool after a period of time. It's normal and unavoidable." My pool just turned 3 years old. I am not an expert but I don't think it is normal to have to drain the water every three years due to chemical imbalance. And it hardly explains why it went from "ideal" to emergency situation in a short amount of time. But maybe that is "unavoidable" for Ranger pools too. A little customer service, accepting a little responsibility and offering some form of refund or ways to correct the problem would have resolved this. But their customer service is non-existent. I'd encourage all to keep looking - don't buy into the friendly sales pitch...

Highest Price, Lowest Quality: A 3.5-Year-Old Pool Falling Apart Like It's 15…read more I am writing this to warn any homeowner in North Texas considering Southernwind Pools. I made the mistake of choosing them because they were the highest-priced bid and had strong reviews. I assumed that a premium price tag guaranteed premium quality and professional oversight. I was wrong. In reality, I paid for a luxury product and received bottom-tier craftsmanship from what appear to be the cheapest possible subcontractors. The construction process during COVID was already no fun, which I am not even holding against them. What I am holding them accountable for is the systemic failure of the pool's structure since it was completed in September 2022. The "Infinite" Leak Cycle and Incompetent Service We have dealt with multiple pool leaks since the very beginning. Southernwind was so delayed and unresponsive regarding leak detection that I had to personally pay for three full leak detections out of my own pocket. Even when they finally "fix" a leak, it is a temporary Band-Aid. In late 2024, a leak reappeared in the exact same spot they had supposedly repaired just one year prior. We were losing half an inch of water every single day. As a gesture of good faith after John reached out to "solve" my issues last year, I even signed up for their pool service again. That was a mistake. I quickly found that the pool service was not actually cleaning the pool properly either. It was just another layer of high-priced, low-quality service from a company that clearly does not value its customers once the initial check clears. Substandard Masonry and Tile Failure The tile and grout work on this pool is a disgrace. The grout on the spa began cracking and deteriorating almost immediately. Grout should last for several years, yet mine didn't even last one. After I fought to get it regrouted, it failed again one year later. The tile work is even worse. It was clearly not done properly, without the necessary sealing or treatment required for a pool of this "caliber." In 2025, the tiles began rising and falling out. They were "fixed" by Southernwind, only to have the exact same failure happen again during the 2026 freeze. This time it is a disaster. My entire back panel wall is rising and failing. It is proof that the original installation was fundamentally flawed. Don't Fall for the "Management Fix" I previously wrote a negative review about these issues. The President, John, contacted me and promised to resolve everything if I took the review down. I trusted him and deleted it. That was a massive mistake. The "permanent fixes" they promised were just enough to get me to stay quiet for a few months. Now, in 2026, I am facing the exact same structural failures all over again. Do not let the "premium" branding fool you. Southernwind Pools charges luxury prices but delivers a product that falls apart in under four years. I am now 3.5 years into owning a pool that has the structural problems of a 15-year-old installation. If you value your money and your sanity, look elsewhere.
