Walked in to get coffee. No references. No familiarity. Just helped a place in the area for breakfast and coffee. I ordered a 20 oz Caramel Macchiato, a Brie LT, and a New Yorker. The drink is excellent. The BrieLT is great and the New Yorker is excellent as well. Atmosphere - very hippy, beatnik, kinda vibe 5/5 Service - you order from a screen. Great place to work/study when in Lake Charles. Good respectable coffee - ordered the iced latte with a pump of vanilla and oat milk ($1 upgrade). They also have a food menu but I wasn't hungry so did not order any food. Plenty of seating including lounge area with couches and comfortable seating. Each table has an outlet so it is a great place to work/study. Each table also has a QR code that you can scan to order from. There is music but it isn't too loud. If you are taking a work call, headphones should help with the noise. Free WiFi is available. Restrooms are clean. Ambiance is very hipster. read more

You have the vibe of an old building inside. Love the local art hanging on the walls. They do not go over board with their name being themed inside. Food Drink - I love a Mexican Mocha and saw that they had a Mayan Mocha Latte on the menu. Their version is creamy espresso and steamed milk with dark chocolate, cinnamon, and a dash of cayenne pepper. I loved the kick of heat. I do wish they served their coffee in a mug instead of a paper cup with a plastic lid. Breakfast - Orion's B.E.L.T, staying with the business name theme. This sandwich is a twist on the classic BLT, adding the E for egg. The sandwich is served on brioche bread, a great choice. Even though you are eating the sandwich here they still serve the sandwich in a bag. Service - You can use a little terminal to order, or say hello to the cashier which I did. Stopped here on the way home from a 5 day golf/poker trip. I wanted beignets even though I was banning gluten. Got a latte, egg stack with bacon, cheddar and pesto sauce and was really good. Their prices are reasonable for the amount they give you and they have an extensive food and drink menu. Lots of flavors to try from, including sugar free. My husband and I were visiting Lake Charles and stopped in for coffee and beignets. My husband got hot coffee and I got an iced coffee. Coffee was very smooth! They asked what level of cream we wanted in our coffee with a picture of coffees modeling the differences of cream. This was great because most of the time coffee shops put so much cream that you can't taste the coffees. The beignets were delicious 8/10- highly recommend. We got our items to-go. The atmosphere was relaxed. The service was good. We didn't get any food, we had just eaten. We had black coffee or another specialty drink. They were all very good. Sat down in a chair that had a pillow. The pillow had stains on it. Nasty. IF there are going to be pillows, have them washed after a huge group of people or replace them often. Or just get rid of them, Talk about A germ home .. The employees never came around from behind the bar to clean tables that were used after folks left while we were there. .. And they weren't busy when we were there. (No excuses for tables being a mess) There's a notebook "spill the beans" with no room to write. Y'all need to put out a new book and the full book, maybe on a shelf somewhere, so others could pull and read. Great concept ... but keep it going with a new notebook! Counting us, (4), there were 3 others and 2 dogs. I LOVE the idea that we can bring our dogs with us. It's so hard to find places to eat or drink and have your dog. That's 4 thumbs up!!! OHHH and please check that AC unit out. It was hot inside... and it wasn't 11am yet. I am a people, weather and traffic watcher. I love watching people and cars, and if it's raining, I love watching it rain... I'm sure there's others that feel the same way. I was the winner because he ate his then went and got a second one exactly like mine (add the titan sauce, you won't regret it). The beignets were good, mocha with cayenne? Delish! Service 10/10! We are from out of town came in looking for crawfish at 10am and they were all super helpful with helping us find a spot. I come visit nearly every day for breakfast. I love this place. It's very cozy, affordable, and delicious. I get a croissant sandwich with egg, bacon, spinach, pepper jack, titan sauce, and sun dried tomato sauce. I highly recommend the two sauces, I feel like it really MAKES the sandwich. I look forward to it every morning when they're open (currently Wednesdays to Sundays). I really enjoy their Snickerdoodle Latte and King Cake Latte if you're interested in something on the sweeter side. They recently started giving reusable bamboo straws which is really neat. Only thing to mention is sometimes they forget the little things. I ordered beignets once, and the sauce was forgotten. I ordered a bunch of sandwiches, and the vegetables were missing. It doesn't stop me from going every day though. It's delicious, fast, and they people are very nice (sparks conversation, remembers your name). I always feel welcome. The atmosphere is amazing and honestly just the place Lake Charles needs. Stellar Beans is the only local hang out spot for people to chat, read, study, or play games. I wasn't expecting something this cool in Lake Charles, to be honest! The place was really cute - retro, yet hippy. There was live music by a very young duo - they really seemed to be in their early - mid teens, but both of them were so good! We stopped in the middle of the day on Saturday, it was not super busy. The live music was not very loud (acoustics, mostly) and the vibe was mellow and inviting. They had a bunch of coffee options with interesting names - both Anurag and his brother tried different ones. I was happy about being able to get a steamer with sugarfree caramel in it - perfectly steamed and the right amount of syrup. They also had a fair amount of local art on the walls for purchase. I would have loved to hang out some more, but we were headed to Houston, so this was a quick stop. I would love to be back! read more

Stellar Beans is my favorite coffee place in Lake Charles! It is located just off Ryan Street in the Downtown area. Close enough to 1-10 to make it an easy stop for travelers passing through. There is plenty of street parking in the area, so that should be easy as well. Stellar is located in an old fashioned storefront by a yoga studio, and has a spacious interior with furnishings ranging from tables and chairs to sofas and lounge chairs. So, it is a great place to work or relax while you enjoy your beverage. The theme is outer space, thus the name. There are stars, planets, and sci-fi decorations. Cool artwork abounds! In addition to all your favorite coffee and tea beverages, they have a great selection of baked goods. There are also breakfast and lunch options if you are looking for a more substantial meal. I have really liked everything I've tried there. If you are in Lake Charles or passing through, stop by Stellar Beans for all your beverage needs.
