Didn't think anything of it. There was only one bartender tending and he was over worked. He appeared a lot when we first sat down, but hadn't received any menus, so we needed a minute. Then he disappeared for a while. Finally got his attention and put our order in. The crab bowl came and the eggs were missing. We sent it back and the gentlemen came back saying the chef agrees there's no eggs and we can add them to this bowl. No thank you. It's been taken around and people were poking in it looking for the eggs that weren't there. They remade it but this time they added 1 slice of turkey bacon and 1 slice of regular bacon. We asked for turkey bacon. My bread was soggy and evened up not eating most of it. The rest was fine. The beignets were not as airy but still fine. The two ladies making coffees were so behind that I think they lost the coffee order we had placed. We finally got it along with silverware after a moment of waiting. This place was nonstop busy and perhaps understaffed. I'm sure when they're on their A game everything is fabulous. This day was not it. Would I go back, sure. I'd give them a second try. But I would go during the week if I'm in town.

They were all so patient, kind and willing to help. The cronuts are something to write home about lol. They're huge, they're filled and they have so many flavors available. If this place was in Houston I'd never go to Starbucks again in my life. The fruit teas are so delicious and with real fruit, no synthetic syrups. I've had coffee here numerous times because they are attached to a bookstore…read more The service used to be hit or miss (they cycle a new cashier/barista through every couple of weeks). Lately, however, the service has been downright rude. Last night I took my wife and children to get coffee. Our barista (Ashley) failed to welcome us when we stepped to the counter, instead mumbling "what are the drinks?" (???). She failed to take the order accurately, and failed to ask my young son which candy he wanted in his frappe (she later yelled the question across the room). When we got up to get our coffees (without being prompted), all of us (including the kids) told her "thank you" without reply. Part of her job requires her to ask her customers if they belong to a membership club and if they would like to sign up for magazine subscriptions. I'm fine with that. This cashier asks the questions in a tone that is meant to communicate "I don't want to do this, I'm just going through the paces." What it really says is "I hate my job and I don't want to make a personal connection with my customers." Ashley's attitude is as bitter as a poorly brewed es If you are interested in getting a coffee in Lake Charles, please consider going to a locally owned cafe like Stellar Beans. Even Starbucks, located a few blocks away, can deliver better coffee with a better attitude. Update: Ashley still works here. Her service is as bad as always.
