This place does the job. It's like the faithful person in your life that never lets you down but also never goes out of their way for you. It comes in clutch in a hurry but there's absolutely nothing crazy good about it. They have a wide variety of baked options, soft drinks, and some basic breakfast items. Sometimes the latte machine is broke but they always have coffee. It's open when nothing else is in the morning and you are in need of breakfast or coffee. read more

The boy cooking tonight needs a lesson in manners and respect. I asked him to make my grilled cheese but not to make it open faced like they usually do (asked for it that way every time because it dries out the cheese... never once had a problem). This time it came out burnt. I even mentioned to the cashier when he brought it and I said "uh oh". She knew what I meant because she said "oh yeah no". I asked for another one and he rolled his shoulders and looked away and said "I did what you asked". I told him I've always ordered it that way and never once has it been burnt and that the attitude was unnecessary. He just said "I'll have someone else do it". Then as I looked over at them, he was pointing over at me. If something's burnt, don't blame it on the customer, they didn't cook it. read more

I stayed at L'Auberge and arrived around 8 p.m. on a Saturday. I was looking for a quick meal before hitting up the casino and there are a bunch of dining options in the hotel. Modern Pantry had good reviews and I knew it would be quick so Modern Pantry it was. In the morning, they have various pastries and desserts but the dinner menu is a little more limited. You can get a Philly cheesesteak, pulled pork sandwich, or a meatball sandwich if you're looking for a hot meal. The problem is that all three of these options aren't super fresh as it's already made and is sitting under a heat lamp. I went with the pulled pork sandwich. This is a large sandwich! Served on a nice bun, they packed in the pulled pork which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the BBQ sauce was just too sweet. And this is coming from someone who likes sweet sauces. This was just a bit overboard. Not a bad sandwich but a better BBQ sauce would've made a big difference. While not the freshest or best of meals, if you're looking for something quick, Modern Pantry is the way to go. read more

Food is good! Unfortunately staff and service is HORRIBLE! I'm ok paying for overpriced sandwiches and coffee in a casino but at least have good service. Everything I ordered I had to go back 3 times to the register and REMIND them of what I ordered because they keep "forgetting". Moderate portion sized so you may need more than one order...or maybe I just got the Texas appetite and eat a bit too much. Who knows? And I don't care. Both of these chicken things are pretty good. They got yogurt, beers and some wines and others here too. It's inside the casino. Wish there were more options. The Philly cheesesteaks were a better option. Each time we visit L'Auberge, we stop by modern pantry to get something for dessert. We usually get a scoop of gelato. Our favorite is the chocolate. They seem to rotate flavors. This time around, we decided to try their hot food. They have a fridge section of foods that you can grab and go or have them heat it up for you. They also have a menu of hot food they can make for you. I ordered a cheeseburger ($9.50) and my bf had one of their subs today. We weren't disappointed. This used to be just desserts and gelato and they've merged it with their existing PJ's Coffee and included smaller items to eat there or take to-go. Whenever I'm at the casino I have to go to here for my coffee fix. The coffee here is great and there are different flavors to choose from. The atmosphere is family friendly and you can enjoy a salad or sandwich any time of the day, the prices are a little high but it's worth it. Modern pantry used to be soooooo good. They had tons of candy, chocolate strawberries, more flavors of ice cream. And now it's gone :( there is really nothing good there to eat anymore.
