9/10/2025: My friend and I had an early birthday dinner for me at GRS. The service was exquisite from start to finish. We started with the complimentary bread with our wine. The butter they serve with the bread has small pieces of course sea salt in it which was divine! It was the best bread and butter I have ever had hands down. For our meal, we ordered the beef wellington and brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious! The servings are large enough to split, especially after the bread and wine. The restaurant is tucked away in a corner of the casino. You have to pass a shop and then a pizza by the slice place to get there. The restaurant is waterside, so the view is pretty. I recommend this place for special occasions. The atmosphere alone is impressive, but then when you add the service and the food, you will be wowed! read more

Absolutely amazing experience. We had a party of 10 for my brother's bachelor party and made reservations in advance. The only slot available was 9:30, but it worked out perfectly--we got to enjoy the casino, play a few tables, and then head straight into dinner. From the moment we arrived, the night felt special. We were greeted warmly and taken to a private room, which was an incredible touch that set the tone for the whole evening. Pro tip: if you're coming with a larger group, ask about the private dining option--it really elevates the entire experience. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. We had a team of servers who were gracious, kind, and full of great recommendations--both for the restaurant and around Lake Charles. They felt less like staff and more like friends who wanted to make sure we had the best possible night. And then, of course, the food. Top notch. World class. Sure, it's not one of Gordon Ramsay's Michelin-starred spots, but it delivers. We started with Gordon's famous lobster risotto, and good Lord... I've seen this dish on Hell's Kitchen a million times, but tasting it in person is something else entirely. Rich, perfectly balanced, and deeply satisfying--honestly, if you came here just for that one dish, you'd leave happy. For mains, some of us ordered steaks, others tried the pork chops or salmon, and I had to go with Gordon's specialty--the Beef Wellington. You can immediately see why this is his signature. It's such an intricate, technically demanding dish, but when all those layers come together, the flavor is unlike anything else. Truly a showstopper. Every plate was spot on, perfectly cooked, and generous in portion size. Nobody left disappointed, and a few of us couldn't even finish. The sides--from the brussels sprouts to the mac & cheese--were just as impressive. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. Since it was a celebration, the restaurant surprised us with a special dessert for the groom-to-be, and we also ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding. If you know, you know--it's rich, decadent, and absolutely unforgettable. All in all, Gordon Ramsay Steak made the bachelor party night feel extraordinary. For years, I've been wanting to try the Chef Ramsay signature Beef Wellington. I was so disappointed, I sent it back. It just didn't taste freshly prepared. Took my wife here for our anniversary. Service was top notch. Our waitress really knew the menu, specials, and was able to provide good info based off her personal experiences with menu items. The drinks were delicious, and the food was great. I got the Wellington and my wife got the 28 day aged prime rib. I have to admit, I've absolutely had a better steak at high end steak houses in Texas, but that's a tough comparison because no one does steak and BBQ like Texas. The restaurant was nice, wasn't crowded, and with our reservation, we were sat immediately. Overall it was a good experience and I'd recommend giving it a try. My family had dinner here a couple of weeks ago. The setting is very cute. The restaurant has a very large window wall facing the lake, but unfortunately due to the glare of the interior lights, it was hard to see out unless you were right on the window line. There were three of us and the table we were seated at was cute but a bit strange. A booth in the shape of a very "flat" semicircle, kind of seems like we were all sitting on one side of a long table. The service was very good. I had called ahead and confirmed they have a corkage fee so took our own bottle of wine. Coming from Houston, this was a treat as we have yet to find a fine-dining establishment in Houston that allows this. We had: Shrimp Cocktail (2/5) - Easily the most disappointing dish of the night. At this type of restaurant the price, you expect big, flavorful shrimp. What they served were pretty small gulf shrimp (size-wise, think 30/lb type shrimp). Flavor wasn't bad but again very disappointing at a high-end steakhouse. British Ale Onion Soup (3/5) - Interesting. I thought this would be a take on the French onion soup but it was very different. As my daughter said, she thought it tasted like a cross between French onion soup and Indian curry (pretty good description!). The consistency was more of a sauce than a soup. Lobster Risotto (4.5/5) - Very good risotto, would have been a hit even without the small lobster tail. 14-oz New York Strip [American Wagyu from Snake River Farms] (4/5) - We're big fans of SRF and this did not disappoint. Very flavorful steak. Maybe a bit over-seasoned??? 18-oz Ribeye [Dry-Aged] (4/5) - Good, flavorful steak. Not sure we tasted the "dry-aged" aspect of it. Like the other steak, a bit over-seasoned. This is the second time I have dined at GR Steakhouse and I am happy I returned! The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Even though we didn't order it, the daily special Cajun risotto, sounded delicious! My husband and I really enjoy ordering lots of appetizers and sides to share for our meal and eat family style. This time we ordered the shrimp cocktail, the beef tartar, the crab cake, the market wedge salad, and the lobster bisque. In order from least to most favorite dish: - LOBSTER BISQUE: at $17 this was a very overpriced tomato soup with toasted brioche and lobster added in almost as an afterthought. I would not order this again as it lacked so much flavor. - THE MARKET WEDGE: made with Butter Lettuce, Crisp Pancetta, Stilton Blue Cheese, Tomato Raisins, and Green Goddess Dressing, this is nothing like any wedge salad you've ever had and honestly it probably could use a name update because it was very disappointing in comparison to a regular wedge salad. - SHRIMP COCKTAIL: served with a Bloody Mary Cocktail Sauce and Gin Pico de Gallo. The shrimp were cooked perfectly but they would have been highlighted much more had it been served alongside regular cocktail sauce instead of something so elevated. - SMOKED BEEF TARTARE: served with Truffle Egg Emulsion, Coriander Vinaigrette, Manchego Cheese, and delicious Yukon Gold Kettle Chips. A MUST TRY! - CRAB CAKE: made with Louisiana Blue Crab, and served with Crispy Asparagus, and Lemon Hollandaise this is the star of the evening! Don't be an idiot sandwich, order the crab cake!! Finally for dessert we ordered an off the menu dessert recommended by our waiter. The key lime cheese cake was pretty disappointing but the citrus sorbet that was served alongside it was unbelievable!! I'd order an entire gallon of it if it were available! My birthday is in August; usually 100 degrees every year! We usually take some sort of trip with Rooster and grandma. There was some debate about to do this year. I had mentioned a month or so back to the boy (now a junior in HS BTW) that Gordon Ramsay had opened a steakhouse in Louisiana. This got him thinking about actually trying food he has only seen on TV. Fine, plans were made to head that way. Hotel prices are ridiculous at the actual venue so we stayed about a mile away in Westlake. Four thirty reservation; haven't eaten dinner in some time so I skipped lunch all together. The space is elegant and lakeside. Service was exemplary and provided by Dezmenn. Drinks and wine ordered; prepare for about $20 each since it's not listed. My oysters were a fine start. The described "Bloody Mary" cocktail sauce was on point as was the other provided sauce. Not too pricey at $22. This is a steakhouse so of course there is bread served. A very soft focaccia with black salted butter. Nice bites and we were offered another round. The wedge salad was ordered split between my GF and my mom. The kitchen didn't get that memo so we split it at the table with an additional. The other miss of the meal was the bone marrow. When it arrived it was not liquid enough to be gently scooped out on the provided bread. I sent it back for more heat; they put the dish in a salamander and now the bread is burnt. Flavor was off too. First time I've have not enjoyed this dish. Ok, main courses. Might as well try some of Gordon's famous dishes. Rooster ordered a wellington as did we to be shared between my mom, GF, and I. For good measure why not order the bone in 20oz ribeye too. The steak was perfect. Don't think it's the GOAT but definitely in my top 10. Back to the "wellie", it was fine. Rooster at his plus half of ours. If you're a total meat dude/dudette you'll find the fanciness a bit boring. Beautiful red center surrounded by puff pastry. The duxelle of mushroom didn't come through as I expected. I also didn't find the veggies on the signature dish to be that flavorful. Same with the asparagus. I would have preferred it to be grilled; sauce was fine. Best bites for me was the baked potato with smoked gouda béchamel. Lardons on top could have been less cooked for my taste. Desserts were fancy and artfully presented. I being the birthday boy didn't even order a dessert but one showed up anyway. Cheesecake, truffles, sticky toffee pudding with cute butter and knife ice cream presentation. You're thinking this is alot of words for a review. How much per paragraph? The bill was just over $500 not including tip. Ehhh, I enjoyed the experience. But, dammit why are the fanciest places in the world only open for dinner??? This is my 2nd Gordon Ramsey experience in States and I loved it! We had ordered wagyu filet and New York strip steak. Although they didn't cook mine medium rare but it was still tasty and yum! We had oysters and they were fresh and delicious! Love the ambiance of the restaurant and especially we could sit by the window. The River view is amazing. Our waiter Ted provided great service. First, let me say that we had reservations for Valentine's Night at 8pm. So, we probably arrived after a very busy day/evening. That being said, the restaurant is located in a very smoke filled Horseshoe Casino. Once you're in the restaurant the smell of smoke is completely gone. We were very happy about that. They had live music as we were walking in. They seated us right away. I can't remember our waiter's name and while he was very nice he was in a constant state of hurry. I ordered the wedge salad for an appetizer. It was delicious. I NEED some of that dressing for my house. My husband ordered the crab cake and really enjoyed it. They also served fresh focaccia bread with garlic herb butter. We both wanted more because it was that good. For our entrees, I got the Wagyu NY Strip and he got the ribeye. I also ordered the chimichurri at the suggestion of our waiter. The steaks were flavored well, but mine was a little under cooked so I ate the parts that I could stomach eating. My husband really enjoyed his steak. However, I didn't care for the chimichurri. For sides we order the Brussel sprouts which we both agreed were some of the best we've ever had. The Mac and cheese which would have been delicious had they not forgotten to bring it to me & then when it finally arrived was like warm at best. The loaded baked potato which was very good. We finished the night with 2 desserts and a $400+ bill. The date cake with the sticky toffee pudding served with the brown butter ice cream was one of the best desserts I've ever had. It is really sad to have a well known establishment with such great service, a warm ambiance with awesome plates and presentation end up giving my 87 year old mother and myself FOOD POISONING! We went to have the Gordon Ramsey experience and arrived at 7:30 pm. the night of June 10,2026. We both woke up around 3am the morning of June, 11 2026 with severe diarrhea. The food didn't smell or taste spoiled however something from what we were served obviously contained undetectable bacterial colonies and made the both of us severely ill. We paid 296 damn dollars to have the Gordon Ramsey experience and we were food poisoned!!!!! We ordered two crab cakes, 1/2 dozen oysters, 2 rum margaritas, bread, compound butter, brussel sprouts, beef wellington and seared rack of lamb. We shared the crab cakes, oysters, and Brussel sprouts. She had the lamb and I had the beef wellington. Could the hollandaise sauce under the crab cakes have been tarnished? Perhaps the crab meat wasn't kept at the correct walk in cooler temperature? Perhaps the oysters were not immediately placed under ice as they came in on the loading dock, off the delivery truck, and into the kitchen cold storage ?I have worked as a sauté cook at their local steakhouse competitor across the lake at the Golden Nugget. The cycle of food from delivery of raw products to production by manufacturing into a fancy plate is standard across the board. Food products must be rotated out during production meaning you move the older raw food products or prepped food items towards the front or the top of the shelf, bin, or drawer. You manufacture those items into a serving, then replace the storage areas with the newly arrived raw or prepped products in the proper storage areas at the proper temperatures. There are hundreds of different species of bacteria making up diverse populations that can grow at room ,walk in cooler, and deep freezer temperatures. Therefore, systems MUST be in place to monitor any possible bacterial growth on raw food products during this cycle so that the possibility to transfer contaminated raw food products into any manufacturing processes such as prepping, cooking, plating, then serving is kept to a non exiting occurrence. YOU DON'T HEAR ABOUT A BREAK IN THIS CYCLE FROM A FIVE STAR RESTAURANT. THIS IS UNHEARD OF WITHIN THE CULINARY INSTITUTION!! If the both of us became ill at the EXACT same time which was after digestion through the stomach (1.5-2 hours) occurring during absorption in the small intestine (4-6 hours) due to excess water accumulation , or what is known as diarrhea occurring which is the flushing process by the body to eliminate bacteria. Something was seriously missed by this establishment. Someone did not check temps of raw products before they were prepped and cooked. Someone on the prep team could have possibly formed crab cakes using bad crab meat. Someone could have shucked and served an oyster that warmed up to room temperature but was dropped down to walk in cooler temperature and it made it onto the plate that we were served. An acute change in temperature attracts bacteria. Think about it. That's why we can get sick in the summer from going back and forth from a cold house from the AC blowing to outside where it is 98 plus degrees in the daytime. Same concept. Perfect scenario for bacteria to grow. Perhaps the pork belly in the Brussel sprouts was bad. Perhaps the Brussel sprouts had colonies in between the blades of each leaf. I'm not sure what happened here but it was blatantly obvious that someone in the cycle of food processing for this well known five star establishment seriously dropped the ball. There is no ACCEPTABLE or LEGITIMATE excuse for a five star service restaurant with the name of a WORLD FAMOUS RESPECTED CHEF behind it to give a first time excited customer food poisoning. The both of us feel that we have been let down and ROBBED by Ceasars casino and the Gordon Ramsey brand. I personally feel let down by being a big fan of Gordon Ramsey for years since his early episodes of Hell's Kitchen! I immediately contacted the customer service line for Ceasar's Inc and created a formal complaint. We still have not heard ANYTHING from ANYONE from the casino or the restaurant. My next move? I will be contacting the local news and tell them that Gordon Ramsay's restaurant charged me and my 78 year old mother 296 dollars and gave the both of us FOOD POISONING!!!!! If I am not contacted by their management to rectify this issue! I will absolutely not in any way, shape, form, or fashion allow this occurrence to go unnoticed. This will go past Yelp!! The bar and standards for a five star service restaurant are set high and this is a major concern that needs to immediately be addressed and rectified! We want our money back Gordon Ramsey! We recently made reservations here for my wife's birthday. We make it a tradition to go to Lake Charles for my wife and one of my best friend's joint birthday celebration. Since their birthdays are so close to Christmas, we celebrate the whole month long to make up. This particular year we decided to stay at Horseshoe and dine at Steak. We were excited since we normally stay between Lauberge and Golden nugget and this was our first time staying here since the remodel. It was easy to get reservations via OpenTable. We did bring two toddlers, that was our mistake, but our waiter was very helpful. I must say his service was impeccable all things considered. As far as the meal it was delicious. We had the beef wellington, filet mignon, the sea bass, and the a5 wagyu. By far the wagyu was the best, but was it worth it?, not, the filet was the best value, the beef wellington was good, but it's not for me, the sea bass was great as well. As far as sides we got the fries, this could feed an army, if you have a group, just get 1 order, we had so much left over. We also had an order of the brussel sprouts which were solid. We were sad we didn't get the lobster risotto, as our friends raved about it! They finished our meal with a complimentary sticky toffee cake for my wife's birthday! The Atmosphere was warm & cozy The waiter gave us the best dining experience ever from the recommendations to services The Food was so amazing.... we had everything he recommended* we got *Beautiful Dreamer *Blueberry Lemon Drop (which is not on the menu but needs to be) *Crab cake *Beef Wellington 8oz Prime Filet with a lobster tail (lobster tail was definitely on the small side for 26 bucks but it was love at first bite.. it was buttery, tender & slightly sweet) *Mac & cheese *Sticky Pudding Ending with a London fog. Everything was delicious... by far the beef Wellington was an everything I imagined it would be. The pastry was flaky the beef was so tender I really didn't need a knife & the smoothness of the potato purée was the best I ever had. I don't even wanna start on the red wine demi-glaze. We didn't finish the Mac & cheese because we had to have room for that insanely delicious sticky toffee pudding. The London Fog was strong but was a great ended after the sweet but not overly sweet dessert. So like a symphony it was masterful cooked layered with flavors. Beautiful restaurant. We sat at the bar and ordered martinis which were perfect and ice cold. I had the Caesar Salad, and my husband had the wedge salad with Green Goddess dressing. Both were fresh, crisp and perfectly dressed with house made dressing. We both ordered the crab cakes. There was so much crab in them and they were garnished with a little hollandaise sauce and a spear of asparagus. Just delicious. We both agreed the best crab cakes we have ever had. We went here for our first time this last weekend. Hosts were so friendly!! We were seated and it was soooo loud! The booth was in the center and seriously we could not hear our waiter.... Food we got an aged ribeye, sautéed mushrooms and Mac n cheese The steak was cooked perfectly and juicy along with the Mac n cheese was a very pleasant surprise. The mushrooms a huge disappointment too sweet ans trying to hard to differentiate themsleves same with the bread and butter. Service was just ok again we literally could not hear any of the wait staff and wait was long in between dishes and staff checking in on us. We arrived and were greeted warmly and shown to our beautiful table in the back room! Our waiter Desmond was outstanding and explained the drinks and menu to us in great detail! We ended up choosing the Porter House Steak as it was huge and 4 of us split it. We ordered lots of sides- the peppered bacon appetizer, creamy lobster Mac , pureed potatoes, crispy Brussels sprouts, garlic and truffle fries and we had the sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce! We went to Gordon Ramsay steak in lake Charles for our birthday / engagement celebration this weekend. This is the perfect big celebration restaurant to eat in SW Louisiana/ SE Texas! All of the food was incredible, the drinks (didn't get pictures of) were also amazing. Nothing was over seasoned, all of the food was cooked perfectly. The waiting staff was super nice and helpful. Oh, and the sticky toffee pudding is the best thing I've ever had This place isn't for anyone going out just for a random night out I will say, the comes with a massive price that in my opinion is worth it under certain circumstances. But overall we are VERY happy and we will be back for our next big celebration:) read more

Our first visit on arrival at reservation time They offered us to "wait in the bar lounge" while they prepared our table. The bar waitstaff forced a few strange drinks on us as we waited for a table that was obviously open. The drinks were not good at all, and expensive. For dinner, i got the aged Kansas City strip It was a bit flavorless and not as tender as I had hoped. We got the mac and cheese for side. And the wife ordered chicken, which she reported was decent. Thankfully on our second visit months later, the "lounge bar area" seems converted to tables and they didn't pull that stunt. They just seated us. This time, we each ordered the prime filet so we would get a tender steak. I got mine med rare and wife ordered medium. They came out well and med well. The $16 Caesar salad is literally 5-6 full leaves of lettuce covered in dressing. Side was baked potato, which was good but needed salt and pepper, which is nowhere to be found on table. All in all I feel we got a $50 dinner for $150 with the $150 waitstaff to go with it. The service and staff is great, but the overall vibe of the restaurant is pretentious for the sake of being pretentious. read more

Our server failed to be attentive to our table during our second experience. Our server began explaining a chef's special they had which included a potato, a lobster tail cut in half, and a 8oz filet for $42 no extra cost. When we received our bill, it was $42 just for a piece of lobster and potato. Plus an additional $60 for an 8oz filet. Which we originally ordered my son the special as well thinking it was $42. Even if it was $60 that would've been fine but not $102. Our server even failed to bring our side of Mac and cheese out. I would not recommend anyone going. You're better off going to Vic & Anthony's for the experience and money. read more

I made a reservation for my husband's birthday. After being greeted at the hostess stand, they wished my husband a happy birthday. We had an amazing experience. We ordered all sorts of food to try- crab cake, complimentary lemon ciabotta bread with butter, Caesar salad, beef Wellington, tuna tar tar, fingerling potatoes with truffle oil, chimichurri to put on top to steak,and toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert. June 27,2025 Edgar And Mary Jackson Had our anniversary dinner at Ramsay Horseshoe Restaurant in Louisiana. Had Porter House Steak. Medium Well. Had to send back to recook came out well well. Second time still over cooked. Ate anyway. We Spent almost 380.00 not including tip 20%. Waiter Great But was informed Mr. Ramsay Has Never visited this location since opening in Dec 2024. I would not recommend this Restaurant To no one.This location Needs to be on his TV Show Restaurant From HELL. Terrible !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish they could Credit my Card .That woud be nice! I could have eaten any where and had change to really enjoy our Anniversary. read more

The service is outstanding! We had Kyle as a server with a nice young lady on the 15th. The atmosphere is ideal for the setting and especially nice overlooking water. The food was good but didn't love the mushrooms. read more

I had high expectations as we are truly Gordon Ramsey fans and we were very disappointed. I reserved this dinner for my girlfriend's birthday and have to say I would have been better off going somewhere else. The plus side to the food was my gf's Beef Wellington was cooked perfectly. My steak however came out very over cooked and when I sent the steak back it took the better part of an hour to return to our table. When I did finally get the steak back it was incredibly salty and couldn't eat more than two bites. Our waiter would disappear for 20 minutes at a time to the point I had to get up and go look for them multiple times. Again I guess my expectations were fairly high after being a fan of Gordon Ramsey shows for years. I don't mind paying for food and service but, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone nor will I ever return. On a side note the cooks had on backwards baseball caps again this isn't a deal breaker but, when your paying $$$$ for food get a dress code. read more
