It had been a few years since I used Stellar last, but the experience was good so I thought to give Luis a call again. Answered my text quick, good so far. Was able to get the window I needed from the dealer, it was not available after market. I did need to pay half of the install up front, via venmo, which I did. But that's when communication broke down. After a few days he finally answered my text and scheduled a time to replace the window. When he arrived I asked what had changed from the last time he worked for me. He said there were staffing changes. I left it at that. He and his helper worked to clean out the glass from the damaged window and replace with the new one. I took them three hours only to discover that they did no have everything they needed. Luis said he would get the part and return the next day or two and finish up. Needless to say I never heard from him again. I refuted the venm charge on my credit card and contacted Safelite Auto glass. For a few bucks more they were very professional and able to get me fixed up. I feel bad for the guy, but he provides a service and is not fulfilling his promises. read more

Making an appointment here was not easy! Definitely try calling vs. using the messaging feature from Yelp. You will get better results of actually scheduling an appointment. I had a side window replaced. Problem #1, he let a lot of broken glass fall behind/into the trim and said he didn't have a way to prevent from falling OR clean it out. Broken glass rattles a lot. So I had to use my own vacuum. Problem #2, he left a bunch of scratches on the plastic trim. I had this brand new vehicle for only a year, and he gouges it without saying sorry. Problem #3, the installation was slightly off center (sticking out). His excuse was "can't make it perfect like the factory." I am always a little wary when a place gets all 5 stars because it feels a bit off but I see why Luis and auto glass solutions have this rating. A neighbor and my window were broken out by a terdwad and I really need to get the window replaced since I parked on the street. SAG was able to come in two days and did the job professionally and quickly. The appointment time was a bit late but this is a small business and we understand not everything goes as planned. You know what is really awful? Walking out to your car and finding a smashed window and knowing you've been a victim of car prowling. It ruined my day, I felt terrible and like this would be super impossible to resolve quickly and affordably. You know who wasn't super helpful? My insurance company. They said 'we'll connect you to an approved vendor' but since my deductible was $500, there wasn't much chance it'd be helpful at all to resolve this. I chose not to be connected as how can I tell that this is a good vendor without checking Yelp first? So I checked Yelp instead and used the 'get a quote now' option - do not recommend this- what I DO recommend is not to bother with the 'four quotes' - you will find that Luis at Stellar is less expensive than the other quotes if you just reach out to Stellar directly, saving yourself time and hassle. Stellar is mobile so they will come right out to where your car is. You don't have to even hassle with it, let Luis help you while you go relax and calm down, file a police report or just have a beer. Oh, and the time and hassle of getting your auto glass replaced? Luis made that feel like there was none of either. He came out, cleaned up the glass like it never happened, put in the window and was done so quickly it was amazing. My insurance company suggested safelite... however they didn't have any openings for 2.5 weeks. (Since I live in the Seattle area- there was no way I could wait this long with the weather). I found Stella Auto Glass & Tint on Yelp. The reviews were insanely good. So I decided to send a Yelp message on Sunday. (Keep in mind this is technically when they are closed) The Owner Luis responded within an hour! He quoted me 30% less than Safelite and 3 other places I contacted for quotes. Was even able to get a technician sent to my house the next day! The technician and Owner were super communicative. The rain set them back on time, yet they kept giving me calls with new ETA's so I didn't feel out of the loop. The window was replaced in under an hour and a half, the technician cleaned up the glass as well! (I would still recommend a detail interior clean as the dusty glass can be concerning) HANDS DOWN, the best experience. Smashed window repair done onsite within 45 mins. 3 times cheaper than the dealership quote and much cheaper than other auto glass shops I contacted. LONG VERSION: My car was broken into over the holidays with a smashed window. Most repair shops were closed but Stellar Auto Glass (owner named Luis) got back to me quickly. Of the places that did get back to me, most wanted 30% more to more than double what I ended up paying Luis. Best of all, Luis is a mobile vendor so he did the repairs onsite. This saved me huge hassle and time of having to drive to a repair shop and wait a couple of hours. The only hiccup was that Luis originally said he could do the repair the same day that I called. However, he didn't show up at the estimated arrival time and I couldn't contact him for about an hour. Turns out that because of snow, he said he got stuck and then when he got to the glass warehouse it was already closed. I don't fault him because the national weather service issued a storm alert so I guess that's why the glass warehouse closed early. The only thing I wish Luis had done was contact me a bit earlier so I didn't have to worry about a no show. Without the part, Luis agreed to contact me the next morning after confirming if he could get the glass part.
