We took our business team out for a day of ATV riding in the desert with Stellar Adventures. They were terrific! They emphasized safety and got us conditioned on the the ATVs before we went deeper into the desert. They stopped along the way to give us some coaching on what we were doing well or not. Stopped several times to take a break and a rest. Great bunch of people. If you have a group and want to go, then they will take great care of you. Took a 2 hour ATV tour with Colton. I've ridden dirt bikes and ATVs for 20 years. Out of the three others with me, one had only ridden once before and the other two had never ridden for more than a lap around the yard. My only complaint is the 300cc automatic ATV was underpowered for my liking. However, it was perfect for the others. Maybe offering two tiers of ATVs (300cc auto for new riders and a 400cc sport for more experienced) should be considered. Colton did a great job giving riding instructions and providing overviews of each section of the trail before we hit them. The trails were great and the water and photos were appreciated. We went on the 4 Peaks Adventure this afternoon. It was an awesome time, so glad we went. We met in Fountain Hills and clambered into the Hummer. There are 2 sections - one open air on top and 4 seats in the back. Our guide Robby was excellent. Great job on pointing out the various cactuses, the many amazing features of the hummer, and he didn't sound like he had done it a million times before. He had a lot of experience with the vehicle, which helped make it pretty comfortable. I was nervous it would be bumpy and painful (since I have RA) and I was absolutely fine. Although there were moments I squeezed my eyes tight shut when he did the thrill part of the ride - going down and up the steep hill ... but at all times I felt perfectly safe. Beware of the teddy cactus - it blew on my shoe but Robbie & MH got it all off. Scenery beautiful - lake beautiful - you really get a sense of how difficult the land is to traverse and survive in. Good tips on the nutritional value of cactus. You will get dusty and there's no bathroom break for at least 2 hours so be prepared. But it's so worth it. Water and snacks were provided, and he even offered them to us again at the end for our ride home. Also he took photos of us, and presented each group with a photo tour CD which included the ones he took of us. All made unobtrusively from the car. He does ATV-ing too. You will have fun, probably even if you don't think so at first! Can't recommend it highly enough - I would go again, esp. on the night tours they also offer. There's not enough stars to rate this company. As a new beginner, I liked the fact that our guide Chad, took his time and explained how to ride an ATV. One of our members had a semi difficult time maintaining the ATV and instead of becoming frustrated (like most would've) Chad in fact didn't but with patience he helped the our one member and eventually he got the hang of things. The trails were awesome!! Much fun!! Good length of time on ATVs and nothing but professionalism from the time I called to reserve to the very end. When I visit AZ again I'll definitely contact this company. This was definitely the highlight of our vacation!!! read more

Stellar adventures was amazing. We had a great time on our adventure. We booked it over the phone and they even sent a link with directions. Mitch was our guide and he did a great job awesome you could tell he loves what he was doing... he took pictures of us and even let us stop when ever we wanna to take some pictures... driving all over the desert taking little breaks to drink water that was supplied by them, no need to load up they have plenty!! We were free to ride all over with the guide up ahead to point out anything to beware of... the Atvs were safe up to date and automatic no need to shift gears!!! There's not enough I can say about the amazing service my group received over at Stellar. Our tour guide Chad was one of the coolest guys I've ever met and was promptly on time in picking us up at 5:45am for our early ride. Very informative on the ride up to the trail showing us parts of AZ and sharing funny and interesting stories. Once we arrived we were greeted by our 2nd tour guide Mitch who was also extremely welcoming and informative. We got a quick but serious talk on the importance of safety on these ATVs (more on that later) and a quick walk through in the lot to get a feel for them. Once on the trail we were given some of the best views of the desert and mountain range while enjoying the terrain flying through the cactus ridden pathway. We made some stops to make sure everyone was staying close and also for water (they make sure everyone is very hydrated throughout and it's definitely a huge help) and a time to get some great group pics with the wonderful AZ backdrop. After about 2 and a half hours of absolute adrenaline filled racing we were pretty much on the home stretch when one of our riders had an accident. That's a reminder to all who plan to visit to always be aware of your surroundings and MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN TO YOUR GUIDE! He gave us a heads up on the specific part of the trail that can lure people to be less cautious and he was right. After getting our injured buddy and the rest of the group in the van, Chad took us to an Urgent Care where 2 of the guys got out to attend to our friend and then took the rest of the us (Group of 9 people) to get some food and then dropped us off at our house. Amazing service from pick up to drop off. I would recommend Chad and Mitch and the Stellar Adventure experience to anyone heading to the PHX/Scottsdale area read more

I absolutely recommend this company if you are looking for an awesome ATV ride in the desert!!!!! We had Chad as our guide for the day, and he is awesome!!!!!! He's great at his job because if you need hand holding he'll do it but if you're comfortable then he wants to make sure you have fun. He definitely is a believer in having a great time while being safe on the trails. He provided necessary information on each section of the trail to make sure we were safe and then allowed us to travel at the pace we were comfortable with. There weren't any yahoos in our group so we clipped along pretty good with spacing between us so that we weren't eating others dust. This contributed significantly to the experience as you could look around you some and really enjoy the trail instead of watching everyone else's rear end. He brought snacks and water to make sure we stayed comfortable and alert. All the equipment was in excellent condition and nearly or brand new. Loved this part of our vacation!!!!! John was a terrific tour guide. After patiently waiting for us to take care of a delivery phone call, he continued to give us the orientation and start our ride. He made sure that we felt comfortable and confident driving the training trails and regular trails. He stopped and educated us on the terrain and history of the land. My friends and I used our groupons today for Stellar Adventures' ATV tour, and we had a blast! It was the first time riding for all four of us (plus another family of three), so before we actually went off on the trail, we all met up at the staging area to sign waivers, get instructions etc. After all that smorgasborg, we helmeted up and hopped on our ATVs. We all started off slow to get a feel of our rides, but before long, we came across our first challenge of taking a dip from the paved road onto the trail. Everyone passed the test, albeit slowly, and we were off to a stellar adventure (two hours of riding time). After a few stop and gos, a few of us felt more comfortable than others, and so our tour guide told us to go in front of everyone so that we could zoomzoom while the others could go at a slower pace. I could tell our tour guide had gone on this trail many times, because he always stopped for everyone to catch up when the paths forked off (or he'd tell everyone to take the left trails), and he knew all of the areas where people had trouble. He let us (the speed racers) dink around while we waited for everyone else, and helped guide the way for everyone across icky areas (not too many). He seemed to really like his job (I would too), but he also definitely wanted it to be a fun experience for everyone else, which I thought he provided. If you feel adventurous and don't mind a little (okay, a lot) of dust on your pants, shoes, jackets, and teeth, take a stab at Stellar Adventures' ATV tour. It's a little costly at $165/person (our groupon took it down to $75/person), but it was incredibly fun, and I would do it again. Just don't run into the mountain or flip your ATV over, like one of my friends did! read more

I went on the ATV tour with my dad on a whim adventure. I was absolutely terrible and timid when the ride began. However, my tour guide took the time to get on the back of the quad and show me what to do and how it should "feel". It was one of the most exciting things I have ever done! The views were amazing and I was allowed to take my time whenever I was nervous. The ATV tour was a blast! I was a little concerned it wouldn't be very adventurous. I was afraid we would travel at low speeds while a tour guide talked about the unique foliage native to the dessert etc... but that's not what it was at all... it was intense, and a lot of fun! We wanted to try out a UTV to see how we liked the experience. We picked Stellar Adventures and scheduled a date. When the day came, we had the best time ever. Our guide Mitch gave us instruction and had us practice driving in the parking lot. Then we set off on the tour. The tour was 17 miles total and a variety of types of trails. We were with a slower group, so we had plenty of time to enjoy the scenery between our spurts of fast and furious fun. Mitch was great all the way, breaks were as fun and interesting as the rides. The UTV and safety equipment was in good shape and made the less adventurous in our group feel completely secure along the way.
