Florals for spring? Absolutely!! Ordered flowers online (for delivery) from Stella Grey Blooms. The flowers were for a surprise (Mother's Day) to just celebrate my mom and sister. Hopefully they feel the appreciation all year, but it was nice that the delivery was as promised and the arrangement was exactly as advertised on the website. I'm not a Chicago native but spend a lot of time in the city when I visit my sister. I don't really send flowers all that often, but I'm glad to know I have a "go to" place when I need it for special occasions and their website ordering was super easy. Probably will find people have strong opinions on flowers and the value of gifting them, but (in my opinion) life doesn't last forever so we should take advantage of making the most of things. Yes- flowers aren't meant to last forever, but bringing joy and feelings when looking at beautiful flowers are priceless. read more

Stella Grey Blooms - Mothers Day Flowers - Florists Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

We had a hard time finding a florist, to be honest. We weren't looking to spend a ton of money on our flowers -- our venue had such cool features that we wanted to keep it pretty minimalistic. I also was looking for smaller floral arrangements and bouquets. We had met with several others who seemed ok, but when we met with Sally, she seemed to understand our vision immediately! On the spot, she made a small boutonniere for my now-husband to show how she was understanding our taste and it was perfect! We had very little communication -- one initial meeting and one check in a few weeks before the wedding. I will admit that I was a little nervous the week-of, having no real idea how my bouquet would turn out, but it was EXACTLY what I wanted! The space at the venue also completely met our vision! We were really so happy with what Sally put together for our special day! read more

I ordered a bouquet of flowers for a friend while she was recovering from surgery and I'm very very happy with how it all turned out. The flower arrangement looked great and my friend said the delivery was awesome. They called her about 10 minutes before the delivery and once she buzzed them in they took the flowers up the stairs for her. She isn't supposed to use stairs since her surgery so I was very pleased with how they delivered to her door! I ordered the flowers on Friday and they were delivered on Saturday by 11am. All in all it was a great experience! Thank you! read more

the arrangement was fine, but the flowers were somewhat wilted... certainly not fresh. I've seen fresher blooms at Jewel or CVS . My son sent them to me for my birthday & said he paid an absurd amount of money for them. I have no idea how much, nor did I ask. But I did ask the florist to refresh them a bit, but she refused, and was quite rude--- " put it on your doorstep and I'll just give him his money back " That wasn't acceptable! My son had ordered them from Scotland I'm sure it wouldn't be easy to find another florist. What was I going to do tell him, that I returned the flowers he gave me? Ultimately she said she would credit him half price, I'm not sure if that's what she did but that's not the point. The point was, she was very unprofessional. read more

Erase all city florists from your list and put this one at the top. I came into Stella Grey with an old black and white wedding photo of my parent's wedding, and I wanted to create a floral centerpiece for the 50th-anniversary dinner party that resembled my mother's wedding bouquet. The whole staff got into it with zeal, worked with my budget, called distributors to figure out what they could actually get to match the flowers (blurry in the photo), special ordered what they needed, hand wired endless stephanotis blooms and made a very beautiful piece that delighted and surprised my mother. Passion, attention to detail, a beautiful eye to design, and deep care for your special moments- that's what you want in a florist. And that is what Stella Grey is all about. Bonus, the gifts in the shop are really cool and unique, so stop in for Christmas! THANKS, SALLY AND STELLA GREY STAFF! read more

I could not have been happier with my wedding flowers from Stella Grey! their prices were reasonable, Sally and Eileen were amazing to work with, and the flowers were better than I had imagined. I recommend them to everyone I can! read more

The owner is rude. She clearly can't manager her own stress and projects it on her own customers. Between my wife and I, we used to pick something up every couple weeks or so, since we live in the area. I mentioned to my wife that the owner was rude over the phone to me recently and my wife said the owner was rude to her in person as well. We love to support small business, but I'm not going to be treated badly or made to feel unwelcome. Sad that the owner lacks the self discipline to not project on others. Found a nice place to grab flowers farther down Irving Park, so we won't be back. read more
