Back by popular demand and with a vengeance, Stella Blues is here to stay. They had closed for a while due to a fire but recently had their soft opening and are now open for business. My boyfriend and I came last night and were quite surprised at all the changes. To be fair, I don't remember it being as spacious, nor having some of the amenities it has now, but they're definitely welcomed additions. We were greeted promptly upon entry and my boyfriend recognized the bartender, so we went and chatted with her. For starters, they still have the famous grill serving up delicious Korean food and other treats. There's ample space to roam and they even have a pool table in the far back. We mainly stayed in the front. We weren't there too long but did enjoy some tequila lemonade lavender shots. I had never heard of them, but it was recommended by the bartender. So I heard about this place before the fire came and always wanted to try it! I'm so glad to hear they are open again after two years so we went! The have a patio in the back and some tables in the front for more space. Inside you have a bar and it cane be a bit crowded so we sat outside. Got a few dishes to try: Loaded Fries: these were amazing! The bulgogi beef was tender, fries had seasoning on them and the chipotle aioli had some kick to it! Loved these. Crab Rangoon Sticks: these were great as well. It's basically a crab Rangoon filling in a mozzarella stick form and I liked them. Especially dipped in that sweet Thai chili sauce. Wings: I tried both wing flavors and my favorite has to be the Korean BBQ - lots of flavors and the chicken was crunchy as cooked perfectly. The K Spice wings I thought were just okay. To me no real flavor just a plain wing. Chicken Sandwich- this was also one of my favorites. They used the same sauce that was on the wings(Korean BBQ) but added Joppi slaw which added a bit of a crunch, and the chicken thigh was juicy and tender. I was excited to come here because I saw a positive review on tik tok. I walked in and was ignored. First time visiting this place and I explained that to the bartender and she was annoyed that I had questions. It's a cash only bar and I wasn't aware of that but I went to the atm and incurred the fees to be able to experience the place. The bartender ignored me after I ordered my drink, never checked in on me, rather chit chat with other customers. I left after one drink. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Driving through town and the first place we had picked was closed, so we had to make a quick pivot, I was craving wings, and husband found this sort of Korean kitchen tucked inside a local hangout. I'll be honest, when I saw, "dive bar" in the description others had left, I was nervous. I'm SO GLAD we trusted his gut! Kayla's absolute delight in telling us about the menu kicked things off well. We ordered wings (12/10, no joke), the "chicken sando," at her urging, and crab Rangoon cheese sticks. These were the best wings I've ever had! I thought the sandwich might be similar, but the flavor was distinctively different, with what seemed like curry along with a house slaw... both chicken recipes were impossibly crispy outside and juicy inside. Since the reopening, Stella's has quickly and easily become our go-to neighborhood hangout... often times twice in one day. That's how much we enjoy it. The vibe is always good -- the patrons, the bartenders, the kitchen -- front to back. We see other repeat customers, which I think speaks for how much the space is appreciated and loved. We run into friends unexpectedly, brought family members here, it's dog-friendly, etc. The bartenders are welcoming and always busting their asses while also recommending delicious new drinks. The food hits exactly how you need, whether as something to eat while at the bar or something to stop and grab on the way home. It's flavorful and the kitchen team also have kick ass personalities. I bet drunk people eat this food up late at night because if I come in to not get drunk and love this food, drunk people would have a ball haha Korean food is my jam, super cool that there's a bar that serves hot Korean food. Last night , I spent hours searching for the best restaurants in St Louis and I stumbled upon this one. The reviews were amazing and let me tell you, the reviews were correct. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. We tried the bulgogi and rice bowl, the charred wings, and cheese fries. We also tried a peach shot, they didn't taste strong but the results were. I normally don't visit a restaurant more than once but I'll be a repeat customer anytime that I'm in town. I also loved the customer service. The woman taking my order was very cheery and made me feel welcomed. Many of the customers are repeat customers that were also talkative and welcoming. I've been to hundreds of restaurants and this one is definitely in my top 5. read more

I found out about Stella Blues through an instagram video. I placed a carry out order with 2 orders of wings, tacos, and a melt. EVERYTHING was delicious. It's an intimate place and the vibe is homey but fun! I was greeted with music and a kind bartender upon entry. The pickup area is at the kitchen. My food was ready and correct. The chef is official! He had the apron, thermometer, pens, and swag of someone that knows what they're doing. I made a 12min drive home and the wings were still crispy! Usually sauced wings will get soggy but no! The bar is cash only (ATM on site) and has just about everything you can think of. The Happy Hour specials are awesome! Just what you need after a long day. The highlight of this spot is their bar food menu. Honestly, I've never had anything like it! The food counter does accept credit/debit cards. So, I recommend trying everything! I spent time in South Korea, Japan, and Hawaii. This has to be some of the best Bulgogi I've had outside of these places. Tender beef strips in a spicy sticky sauce each bite more flavorful than the last. The rice is also made to the perfect sticky texture. I didn't catch the chefs name but he was wearing a cool tiedye shirt. Dude can cook. Best loaded fries I've ever had. I will be coming here till I die. This dude deserves to be famous for the insane flavor explosion that he just served us. My partner got the bulgogi rice bowl and the rice was cooked perfectly, the meat was delicious and tender. Stella's Blue is a cute little place off Morganford in Tower Grove. We went there right as they opened and was pretty quiet. By the time we left there was a lot of foot traffic. They keep Their pool room separate from the bar which is nice and i between they have a decent amount of outdoor seating. The happy hour is pretty good and the bartender was nice and knowledgeable about the various beers they had on draft and in cans. The inside bar area is a little small but it looked like they had a decent size patio out back. The atmosphere is casual.
