I have driven past this place a million times, and I finally decided to stop in for lunch this past weekend after I discovered they have gluten-free burger buns and pasta. I was seated right away but wasn't seen by a server for quite a while. When he did arrive at my table, he requested that I move to a different seat at the same table, so I scooted over to what I discovered to be the dirty half of the table. When he came back, I ordered my lunch, and the burger I got was of the same caliber as those at Culver's but for double the price. Small, thin patties, cooked to order as long as it's medium or well done. My drink finally arrived after I'd finished my meal, but it made for a nice dessert. I was given the drink at half price for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. I'll be back only to try their lobster mac, but their burgers are sad and way overpriced. read more

All I can say is wow! We were 10 in all. Sat in minutes (it was a weekday). Service excellent. Good really good portions large enough for a healthy appetite. But the main reason my family wanted to come here were the shakes. OMG! Crazy large delicious shakes. We ordered 5 to share. But we could have ordered 3 and had plenty. Got to go here while visiting friends in Davenport. I sadly didn't try any shakes or alcoholic beverages as I wasn't up to drinking anything other than water but they have a large selection of both and they all looked delicious. I just had a regular cheeseburger and their assortment of fries and they both tasted amazing however I asked for my burger to be made medium-well but it was very pink on the inside close to rare or medium-rare. But it still tasted good. We got the pretzel appetizer too (pictured below) and it was so good! And the dips complemented it very well too! Our waitress was ok but she kept on going behind the bar and pretending she was doing stuff on the cash register but in all actuality was on her phone. Stopped here after a friend had shared their shake experience. My son had the Large Pretzel. That is an understatement. This thing was awesome and came with queso (brilliant!) as one of the dips. It was so big he couldn't finish his shake. I went with the Chorizo Mac N Cheese, which was really good though I'm not used to it being soupy. The shakes are something you have to see to believe. My husband and I went to the Steel Plow for the first time last week for my birthday. I had the mango Mojito. It was quite good; not overly sweet. We both ordered burgers, I ordered the Liberty Bell with fries. The burger was cooked as requested, however, the whole burger and its flavors were slightly below average. Rock solid 4 on our visit and could have been a 5 with just a few small adjustments. Three of us met for dinner on a Friday night at 5:15. We got right in although they were starting to fill in...within a half an hour or less, there were people waiting at the door 30+ deep, so it seems to be a very popular location. Our server Hannah, was great! She walked us through drink options, shakes, all the menu, her favorites, etc. and was very attentive and fun. We got in our drink orders and they came out pretty quickly. There were a ton of options on the menu, from build your own to already spelled out options, and we each took a different approach. My wife got the Turkey Avocado Wrap with baked beans. She thought it was very good, and might have benefited from just a bit more turkey. All in all very solid. I got the "Mr. Anderson" Bison Burger. It was also very good, but maybe closer to med-well than med as I'd ordered. However, still very good and a great blend of flavors. I got the beans as well...Hannah told us they are homemade, as is the potato salad. The beans were smoky, meaty, and delicious. If the potato salad is of the same caliber, I'd like to give it a try! Our friend built a burger with just bacon. She enjoyed it very much and went with the medley of fries. She said it was a good combination, and was more than she could eat! They do offer to bring something different if you don't end up liking the medley. Lots of shakes were coming out of the kitchen and looked decadent. I'd think many people would share them, but I'm sure there are plenty who could tackle one alone. Short, sweet, and honest review of Steel Plow Burgers. I was in the Quad Cities with family for a baseball tournament. Food was decent to good. Burgers were flavorful. Sides were good. The shakes come with decorations on a steel plate. Only issue we had was when we were being seated, I had to beg to get a table outside with some shade. The host made a small deal about how the tables were in different sections. In the end, we got shade. I would go again but will try other new experiences first. However I will try to give some constructive criticism to this business. If you don't want to treat customers the same 40 min till closing.... DONT say you serve till 9. Don't put chairs up next to someone who is waiting for/ still eating their dinner (it's extremely unwelcoming) Don't wander the bar in circles staring at your watches. It felt like a jaws movie. Don't scream across the bar "I'm just trying to get out of here" when you have paying customers. When you have no other tables .... actually get the order correct. My burger had literally cheese and mushrooms with a dry bun. Fries were dead. (Kitchen needs to step up) Be attentive so we don't have to ask three different people for what we need. (Luckily all the clock sharks were circling) I hate to say , I was just disappointed all around by the attitude and service. We drove 30 min to support local business and wasn't expecting this at all. I know plenty of places that would appreciate our patronage more than an early clock out.
