Disappointed with the drive thru "change". I just started going to McAlisters here in Davenport about a year ago, as its not on my usual drive about during my lunch. Today I went, pulled up to the speaker at the drive thru and was told give my name for my online order. I said I didn't order online. Apparently there was a change week ago that drive thru is ONLY for online order pickups, and that if I want to order I have to go in. Now I'm not handicapped and could very well park and go in, but there is a reason why I go thru drive thru. Its for the convenience of not having to get out of the car. And since most of the time its a last minute decision to go here, I will not be going to McAlister's Deli EVER AGAIN. read more

We have been here a few times and the food has always been great. Kind of a hidden gem and very surprised it's not busier. I would recommend this place, if you're looking for a great warm sandwich, and the ingredients were very fresh each time we've been there. My autistic son even likes the food and he can be very finiky on what he eats. read more

A Waste Of Time and Money I tried this "deli" for the first time. It took 30 minutes to get my food and drink after I ordered and paid up front, including a tip. The sandwich from the limited menu was sloppy and it seemed as though the very prepackaged contents were dumped on a piece of bread straight out of a round Oscar Mayer package and drowned in mustard. Came to the Davenport location on a few recommendations from co-workers and family. Great food! Had the McAlister's Club, Mac and cheese, and chocolate chip cookie with sweet tea. $13 and I walked out full and happy! I will definitely be back. Iesha was my host, and was very patient as it was my first time ordering there. Great lady Folks bringing out food and cleaning tables were 50/50 when it came to seeming bored vs service minded, but they were swamped, so I can't really blame them. read more

Seriously waited in line for over 40 mins. At first we decided to just wait it out because it was the lunch hour rush... but then it got worse. Didn't even get an apology when we got to the window. After paying we had to pull up to the waiting spot for ANOTHER 15-20 minutes. What a joke. No offer to comp our food or anything. Had to take my 5 year old in to go to the restroom and literally watched all the employees move around slowly with no care that they had customers waiting this long. Waited 10 minutes to be greeted at the drive through. Ordered 3 meals, 1 out of the 3 was correct. I had to go inside to get the correct items. One of the items was the 4 cheese melt. I was told "we ran out of the right bread, sorry." The other was a kids turkey sandwich. Come to find out, it had been made all along, it was just floating around in the kitchen somewhere. I have always enjoyed McAlister's since I discovered the place in February 2019. I used to eat in restaraunt all the time until COVID19 came to destroy everything in March 2020. I didn' t order take out or go out anywhere for about a year. I started using delivery food services a few months ago out of couriosity. I was thrilled to learn about and download the McAlister's app and have food brought to me and earn reward points on the app. On average, I order once per week, one entree each for me and my roommate. When eating in-restaraunt, if they forget your pickle, missing your fork, etc. they can resolve the issue right there, right away. When you order delivery, you are at the mercy of the person loading your order in the bag. Most times (75%) my orders are delivered correctly, eventhough lukewarm most times. My remedy is to have my home oven set on "warm" when driver leaves McAlister's and put order inside for about ten minutes when received. Makes it hot and fresh like it was at restaraunt. But being at mercy of the order packer is frustrating. I have taken 3 corporate surveys that have been emailed to me and have called location manager about 4 times about mistakes and accuracy at West Kimberly Rd. location. I've been offered VIP coupon emails for entrees to be emailed to me but never received any even after spelling out email address three times on phone to the manager. Have been offered a one liter jug of potato salad if I would drive over and pick it up. Which was in response to last order when I didn't get my side dish potato salad in bag. I always click "add pickle" in app when ordering sandwiches and receive them about 50% of the time eventhough it is listed right on the pick ticket and on my receipt. I just emplore the management to stress the point of accuracy on To-Go and delivery orders from their employees. For people paying for the delivery, it is a premium price, adding delivery fee, taxes, third-party delivery fees, and a decent tip can run $10-$15 over the total of just two entrees (sandwiches). My total for two sandwiches with sides after all the fees averages $28-$32. So when I do not receive some item or not get my tomato, spring greens, honey mustard, or onion on my Memphian and only get warm meat and cheese, I start to lose patience at home with a bag of mistakes. I ordered just a spud with butter , sour cream and a side of rotel cheese. I get home there is no butter, no sour cream, and the potato was cold and hard. I paid $7.16 for a nasty potato. Waited for almost an hour for my order in drive through. When order finally arrive it was wrong. Ordered BLT w/ avocado and a bowl of soup. Sandwich came with no tomato and two small pieces of bacon. My family and I have come here several times. Good food, and of course delicious sweet tea. Unfortunately we are never treated politely, horrible customer service. Today was a bit ridiculous. We were the 3rd car in line in with one car at the window. It took over 15 minutes to reach the speaker. We could hear them take over 5 minutes to even say something to the car infront of us, and it was "hold on". We started to place our order and was responded "we don't have that meat, nope, we don't have that meat either" we finally asked "what meat do you have?" chicken and turkey were the only available meats. Complete waste of time. It's really hard to not want to go to McAlister's with the quality of food provided. I stopped because I needed a receipt for a delivery for a professional lunch and a receipt was not left. The restroom was filthy the service not friendly. When I was a child, I had a bully named Dean McAlister, and every day he would take my lunch right out of my hands. Didn't matter what it was. Ham and Swiss? Turkey on rye? Didn't matter. Meatball on a sourdough hoagie? His favorite. I asked my crush to the school dance and she said yes, but Dean said no. He took her away from me and ruined my life. I was 7 at the time. 30 years and thousands of meatballs on sourdough hoagies later, I haven't thought of Dean in a very long time. Just a follow up to my post regarding McAlister's Deli in Davenport, Iowa. The company immediately responded to my online survey regarding our experience at their restaurant. They apologized and offered to comp us with free meals, for us and anyone we care to bring. Since we do not want to take advantage of what happened with free food, we declined their offer, but did tell them we wouldn't mind a refund for the difference of the online charge and the charge we had to pay when we picked up the food...plus the 60 cents paid for the missing tea additive. Not a big deal, but it would be a nice gesture. We'll see if service improves at this location. If so, we will return. Follow up on my follow up...after I sent my response back to the company, requesting a refund on the difference and the missing mix in, no response. So our previous decision to not return, stands. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch after eye exam close by. I should have been observant that the whole place was empty at lunch time. Not a good sign. Place is dirty. Very dirty. I ordered, table /number sign she gave me for my food was dirty. Drinks splatter spots in it and a white hair (possibly dog hair?) then went to the bathroom and it was so dirty I went to the other bathroom and it was even worse. Mud, dirt all over floor, toilet paper pieces on the floor. The sink hadn't been wiped down/ sanitized in an obvious long time. Then I went back to my table and there was an employee sitting in the booth right next to me when the whole place was empty. It was noticeable someone was occupying that booth because my table sign was there. So weird the whole entire place was empty yet he had to sit right next to me. It was weird He just got off work and was waiting for a ride I guess? He was talking on the phone about things I certainly didn't want to hear about. Then when he got up from the table he had his pants so far down that I seen he whole entire underwear including his crack. - just what peeps want to see when they are eating. Then I was informed they were out of the salad dressing I ordered. The only positive thing I can say is the chicken in my southwest salad was good. The blue corn strips were stale. Literally the worse ever. First time I went I had phone numbers and cat calls written on my receipt. We've been recommending it to everyone. We also complimented the manager because you eat on real plates with real utensils! Even the take out box for my leftovers was made of recycled product! Been here before couple times and the food is good, however, today (5-9-21) the service was so unbelievably bad. Had to wait 15 min to place order, the one kid kept appologizing. Had to wait at least half hour for food and then the order was wrong and my potato was cold, the melted cheese on top was like a piece of plastic!! The tables were not clean. Some guy from drive up came in as he had waited over half hour and wanted his money back. There seemed to be enough workers but they are running around like chickens with their heads cut off, total disorganization. I may consider going back as I do like the food but if service continues to be this bad, I wont return ever!!!!! read more
