Great food and it looks like a 5 star restaurant food it is localy owned and is a must try if you are in davenport iowa.

Veterans friendly with a great breakfast menu. Set at the counter and get that old dinner experience while enjoying a coffee.

Fits the bill perfectly. Dive diner with character and characters. Fresh coffee with a smile. The daily breakfast special is hard to beat for a great start to the day. Very professional cook at the griddle, eggs scrambled just right and hash browns are sublime.

To start, I gave Rock Anchor Grill a 2 out of 5 stars because it only meets expectations. Nothing bad, but everything was as expected and nothing wowed me. An alright hole in the wall. As you may have seen, the prices are incredibly reasonable for a broke college student. The diner environment and food quality are just okay. The service is great and they are very fast with their food service. However, the price represents the quality and taste. There is no wow factor or anything special where it wants me to keep going back, besides the low prices. If you want the dive-diner experience with low prices, then this is definitely the place for you. If you want a breakfast joint with more flavor and better ambiance, try another breakfast place.

    George's skillet is awesome

I had one of the best breakfast I've had in a while at this mom n' pop, or really, just a pop shop. It's a homey hole in the wall - that pays honor to those who have served in our country's military. The owner's own service history is proudly displayed on the wall - as well it should be! I ordered the George's skillet - it was a real treat. finely diced ham, bacon, onion, bellpepper all sauteed with hashbrowns and topped with 2 eggs any style. Really flavorful. The chef has some real knife skills because the dice was really awe-inspiring. Don't overlook this little joint. It may not be fancy, but it's pretty dang fulfilling.

I go here a few times a week. Nothing I can think of to complain about. Fast service, good food and a low price.

Quick find for us in the area that wasn't fast food but seemed fairly quick for service…read more Diner looking on the outside. Plenty of cars in the parking lot, which is a good sign. Walked in and clearly this is a local hotspot for regulars. We were there on a Sunday(around 10:30am). Gentleman in front of us had the paper and was acknowledged by one of the waitresses to sit at the 2nd blue booth and she would be right with him. Gotta hometown feel. We were seated by an older gentleman (didn't realized he worked there. Looked like a customer). He mumbled "follow me". No "hi" "good morning" Strange but ok. Waiter was also not very talkative. Some might dislike this service or not. I don't really mind. I'm there for food, not chit chat. Coffee, diet pepsi and water. Coffee was real good. International Delight creamer cups already on the table for convenience. Water more than likely was filtered and not straight city water(at least it tasted good to me). I got biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs (over easy). Impressive serving. 2 biscuits cut in half, smothered in sausage peppered gravy. Biscuits we good. Nothing fancy to say about those. Gravy was creamy and plenty of sausage throughout. Perhaps too peppery for my liking but I was able to finish the plate. (Did I mention we were hangry?). Eggs were ok(we are use to farm fresh). Over easy like I ordered. Boyfriend requested House Skillet with choice of toast for side. Imagine a garden, then toss some hash browns in, meats and slap on 2 eggs! All the things in this skillet. Mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomatoes, ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns, cheese-all topped with 2 over easy eggs! Hefty portion! He was happy with it. Not "bangin" but great taste. For the quick decision of stopping here, we were happy. Service was speedy. Just not service with a smile. Perhaps Sundays are their busiest days. Oh forgot to mention! Cheap! Large portions- ain't leavin hungry for a penny pincher!

We decided we would come back and try it for lunch because the breakfast was very good…read more Unfortunately the lunch fell down for us. Smaller salads which is fine, but the honey mustard dressing was skimpy and not best. No bread served with the salad or even salad crackers. My wife had a hamburger and I had a patty melt. Both appeared to be preformed hamburger patties. You can pretty much tell, same shape, not much taste or flavor. My wife said hers was dried out. We go for the diners that use fresh ground beef, hand made. We ate maybe half of each. The fries and onion rings were good, but difficult to justify at +$30 for both meals. Doubtful that we would try much else here for lunch but the breakfast is very good.
