Went to Steamers while taking a group trip through Belfair - there were 5 of us in the van. The other ladies really wanted smoothies and had stopped here before and loved them. I had never been to this place. It was a coffee stand that also sold smoothies and tea. When we pulled up this time, we were looking at the board because we were trying to figure out how to split the payment up between everyone, and decided we would all pay for our own. The first three gals ordered fruit smoothies, and paid individually. I asked if they were real fruit based, and was told no, so I didn't order one, as I have food sensitivities. The 4th gal ordered just an iced tea, a 20 oz, which was marked as $1.50 on the board. They charged her more than the listed price, and when we asked, the response was, "oh, the board is old pricing, the prices are higher." The other ladies hadn't noticed the price changes because it was explained that every different extra flavor added a bit more, but this gal had only ordered iced tea, so it was very obvious. The ladies expressed a bit of displeasure to the lady at the counter, but as we drove away they got more angry and decided they would never order from this place again, as they didn't feel that was right to post prices that weren't correct and raise the prices without any mention until it was brought up by the customer, especially after wondering why their drinks were expensive and being told it was due to the extra flavors. The ladies with me were all older and when I suggested contacting the owner and they didn't want to "make a fuss" but after thinking on it for a day or two and listening to their grumbling I decided this was important enough to write a review to warn others about the "old" pricing. They NEED to update their board as quickly as possible. At least posting a sign or something indicating that the board was old pricing would have been nice. Hopefully they can fix this issue quickly. read more
