I'm sorry but I tried. I really did try. 8/3/2021 at 815PM I drive up to the drive through to indulge in a fast food burger. Was told "we are CLOSED for 20 minutes". Kind of odd, but hey, odd stuff happens. I leave, but later that evening I'm headed back to my hotel at 9PM, decide to get a shake! Guess what? Told, rudely, we're CLOSED. Guess they meant for the night, not 20 minutes. But wow, I mean get it together. I drove through the the lane to leave, noticed all the outdoor trash cans are overflowing, spewing trash everywhere. Should have noticed that right off. Obviously this franchise location is struggling. Hate these reviews, but wasn't even worth trying to make it funny.

Very slow to get your food. Don't even finish getting all your order before sending out other customers orders. Avoid this place.

Our server Emily was cheerful and informative. A parking garage across the street served us well for dining at this restaurant and attending an event at Hendricks Live across the street. The shrimp cocktail appetizer featured fresh large shrimp with dollops of horseradish on the plate and a nice sauce. I enjoyed the steak frites entree, a generous portion of steak perfectly cooked, served with a delicious broccolini and tasty fries. My sister ordered the chicken marsala and noted that she would have liked more sauce, and the truffle potatoes were delicious. My brother said his huge pork chop was perfect, and my sister in-law recommended the sirloin steak. We had reservations and were seated at a high top table, which is not my preferred way to dine but the restaurant was full so we didn't ask to be moved. We had a bit of a wait for our entrees and chalked that up to it being Saturday night. There is a separate bar area and rooftop dining with igloos available.

Eh, fell a bit short for me…read more The ambiance and vibes are great! Service was great as well!! The food is where it fell short for me. I drove an hour to visit this place and saw lots of good reviews. I started off with a lemon drop and a snack short rib eggroll. The lemon drop was watery and just did not hit like I would have hoped (I'm a lemon drop girly). They do use Titos as their well so that was good. The egg roll was dry- you definitely need to dip in the wasabi aioli to make it palatable. Next up were the buffalo chicken hush puppies. I like the idea here. The inside was moist and flavorful and the outside was kind of dry and drizzled with what I think was ranch. They were ok. I have a Ceaser salad add chicken and "fried" Brussels sprouts. The salad was suppose to come the onions , there were none so the waitress brought me some. The salad was mid at best and the chicken was dry and unflavored. I asked for some spicy ranch and that saved the salad! The Brussels sprouts were pretty good. My friend had the potato soup and said it was very watery (not creamy at all). I enjoyed the live music and overall vibe but good was average. Parking is an issue as well. There is parking in the rear or a parking garage but not super convenient parking.

I got chicken and dumplings, okra, and carrots. The carrots were so tender and sweet. I normally get the Sunday fried chicken but I went for something different. The waitresses are so busy you have to flag them down to get a refill or a takeout container. I guess Sunday at 11:30 is not a good time to go. It's hard to leave because you have to shop the merchandise at Cracker Barrel such pretty things, old time pop and candy. It just brings back memories when you were a kid. And I always say I'm going to buy the dumpling mix and try to do it myself, but why it's just easier to come here.

I visited this Cracker Barrel on Friday, April 10th. I wasn't available to eat dinner until roughly 9:00 p.m., so I walked over to Cracker Barrel and was seated right away. By that time of evening, the crowd was light. The hostess was kind and cheerful, but my server, who looked to be a teenager, projected a mild annoyance in having to wait on me from the moment she came to the table to take my drink order. I pride myself on being a conscientious and courteous customer; I worked in restaurants when I was a teenager/young adult, so I understand the job isn't necessarily fun and dealing with people is tough. With that noted, I was looking for a small respite after a long day of traveling and then working through registration and such for the convention I attended. I didn't require much. I knew what I wanted when I walked in the door (chicken and dumplings, a side of green beans, a side of broccoli casserole, and two biscuits; water to drink). My server seemed annoyed that I was ready to order when she came for my drink order. I brushed that off and attributed her apathy to youth. Fortunately, my food arrived quickly--all prepared to perfection and ideal for what I wanted. I had no complaints about my food; in fact, I was delighted to have such a good, comforting meal at 9:00 p.m. I needed one refill of my drink, and that refill took awhile as my server wasn't all that visible. If I recall correctly, I think I saw my server only twice that evening (not counting when she delivered my food to my table). All told, my experience was good, but I wasn't too thrilled with the service. Despite the apathetic server, I would recommend this Cracker Barrel location because of the quality of food and cleanliness of the restaurant, even late in the day.
