Recently went with some friends, a little later in the afternoon. We had to wait 20 minutes to even be seated. After being seated they took our order immediately, but we then had to wait an additional 30 minutes for our food. Just some fries and chicken strip. I would not recommend the Arnold location if you want your food in a reasonable time. We waited for 45 minutes and questioned our waitress who informed us there were 3 tickets ahead of us. The wife ate while I was driving. I had to wait to eat. We did talk to the manager who took care of us. They worry more about the drive through customers than the dine in. read more

In my opinion consistently the best Steak 'n Shake in St. Louis. Burgers always fresh, shakes taste great, great FAST service, pleasant atmosphere, clean restaurant. We were here with a church group. Everyone else got their food before our table even ordered our food. Their so slow. But then the shift changed and this really amazing nice woman was now our waitress and she made sure we were doing on when she could and when one of the kids at our table got upset to her stomach she helped her in the bathroom. This location is great. I love the Chicken Taco salad. And you can eat here and not break the bank. I also love the new app they have. It is easy to use and you get rewarded for using it. If you have not tried it yet you should, it easy and fun. Pros-cheap, esp. with coupons/promotions. coupons are sent often in mail. Fairly tasty, burgers are made fresh. Half price milkshakes are a great deal. Ask for frisco sauce on your burger :). Fries are awesome. Do cheese fries!! Cons- GREASY. want a triple burger? It'll drip onto your plate as you hold it up to bite. GREASY applies mainly to burger patties. Good food made fast. They occasionally mess up my food, but it's usually done well. Drive-thru staff is friendly and welcoming. The waiters and waitresses are usually pretty friendly, there are only a few times that I've gotten a bad one. I eat here often. read more

We love Steak 'n Shake's food and the prices are great, but they are so slow on getting your food out. We went last night. Ordered one hamburger, fries and a chili mac. We had someplace we needed to be and thought this would be a quicker place than a restaurant but still better food than a fast food place. After waiting over 35 minutes, I went up to the waitress and asked her about the food. She looked at the tickets hanging up and said there were still four more tickets ahead of ours, meaning that there were some people who had waited even longer for their food! We couldn't wait any longer, got the manager and asked him to have our food to go, as we were going to have to eat in the car to get to our appointment. He did give us our food for free, which we did not expect, but seriously you should not have to wait almost an hour to get a couple of items. By the time we actually got the food it was 45 minutes later. If we would have kept sitting there, would have easily been an hour. We could have went to Pasta House and had faster better service. We will not be going back any time soon. They are too worried about their drive thru customers and do not pay attention to how long people actually sitting in their restaurant are having to wait. Completely ridiculous. The food is not that good (or decent quantities) to wait that long. read more

Awful service! Our whole experience took over 1 1/2 hours for 4 people (2 of them being toddlers). We watched our food sitting in the window for a good 15 minutes before it came to our table. We were stupid enough to order dessert which took another 15 minutes. The only reason we got it was because the manager checked on us and went back to make it... however, she didn't bring it to us but left it for our server to bring out which took even longer. The worst part is when your server knows it's taking longer than it should and ignores your table instead of addressing the problem. Then it was free kids day but if they split the check we lost the discount? Longest experience for a couple burgers and fries ... won't be back! read more

Went to the Steak and Shake in Arnold on Jeffco Boulevard after I got off work. I ordered two number 10's which was chicken fingers french fries and sodas. I got home and started eating and got through two pieces of chicken. After eating most of the third piece, I noticed it was raw, not undercooked, Raw! I went back to the drive-thru and asked for my money back after showing the guy the raw chicken. He was going to refund me $3 for my one order of raw chicken. I told him I wanted all of my money back which was $13 and some change. He refused and began to act like I did something wrong. After he refused, I asked for the piece of chicken back and he said no I'm not giving it back to you because you gave it to me. I explained to him that I paid for it and I wanted it back. He then decided he better give me my money back, so he did. My immune system is suppress due to my medication. This could result in a very serious illness for me. read more

Very very bad service. We went in the drive through and it was around dinner time about 6:00 or 6:30 we waited before getting our order taken 25 mins! And once I finally ordered they said that it was gonna be a 10 min wait, we were like okay that's not that bad. 35 mins later we were still waiting. I feel bad for the person in front of us because they waited the same amount of time and all they got was a shake. Also all we got was two small meals and 1 shake and it took an externally long time. While we were waiting we noticed that they wouldn't take the order of the next person until our food was done which seems kind of dumb. They food is alright, it is sort of like mcdonalds but much pricier for what it is. I am not very satisfied w the shake because it leaves like a layer of crisco in my mouth which is not very enjoyable. Also when we finally got our food they just gave it to us with out saying thank you or sorry for the wait. They need to get some better workers there that will actually do there job! That is why I think it deserves 1 star. I would recommend Culver's is a five star place take your money there! Steak and shake is very disappointing. read more

When me and my dad where there it took 1 hour for are food to be ordered then it took 20 min to be asked what to drink. Then we forgot my purse we left it for 2min and it was gone it had $49 in it so I wish I could give it a 1 but are meal was free. And they didn't even give my dad enraging like.
