Ate their last night on Christmas at 11pm. You would be easy to forgive less than perfect service on Christmas and this late... in fact we weren't expecting much. Having ate at steak and shakes for years though I can say this was one of the best experiences we had. The staff was very friendly, our shake was perfect, and burger and fries were hot and fresh. We are big fans of Steak and Shake but we are going to avoid this location a bit. Sat us pretty quick but forgot about us for about 20 minutes and we weren't there at peak hours. Got our shakes first thing though we wanted our sides before our dinner. Took 30 minutes after we got our shakes to get our sides and then about another 20 to 30 to get our food. Granted our server was nice but the cooks actually need some serious help. We weren't the only ones waiting a long time. We waited about 20 minutes and they said they were clearing off a table and we'd be seated. As we were waiting another party of 6 came in and were seated in the table they cleaned off. Came in today and placed our orders at the kiosks. Not even a person to take orders now. Our food was wrong and it had hairs sticking out of the burger. I took this to "Timmy the king" who got irritated at me because I said something about it. Then they gave us an extra shake so I took it back & he rolled his eyes at me and snatched it from my hand. Once great. Now they use premix in their shakes. No real ice cream. Probably to increase profits no doubt. Also, they post a sign that says "Order ahead on the App" but you can't at this location. I usually do not come to this location. I never remembered why but know I do. I stopped here for breakfast. I LOVE the Aldi's in Arnold so much I am contemplating proposal. I have been wanting to try there slinger for a couple of weeks now. I had to wait a while to be seated. I hate that they frown on you just plopping down somewhere. I had to wait to have my order taken. The girl gave me a funny look when I told here to bring me a Coke Zero and the slinger. Like I did not have plenty of time to mull the menu over. then I had to wait 5 min to be cashed out. the coke zero was flat. the chili in the slinger tasted old and was dried out. most of the beans were hard and crunchy, and not in an undercooked way. the potatoes in the slinger were cold and looked like they were only cooked on one side. i saw an employee help one customer be seated and ignore everyone else. I don't know if he was off duty or on break. he was just sitting in the front area. He helped an elderly couple whom i assume were regulars. he ignored a family that came in with 2 small children.
