Just got a 6" regular cheesesteak; they have thinner value ones, and Cajun, chicken, and other options. You get a slight discount on larger sizes, but that was all I needed, and it was plenty for my light lunch. The 9" seems to be popular, and if I needed leftovers I'd have gotten a 12". You get a choice of bread, and I went "East Coast" semolina with sesame seeds. It was hearty but not too dense or dry. I'll have to come back and try the "Midwestern" Italian loaf. The sandwich as a whole was very good. Tasty, nice mix of textures, nice aroma. Amazing? No. But very good, and a definite improvement for them. I will say I'm not converted by the Cooper cheese hype. It's fine, but not OMG worthy. Service was great, friendly and fast. The place wasn't as busy as I'd feared at noon on a weekday, but there was a steady stream of customers. My sandwich was up in about 5 minutes. You can add veggies, etc., before they wrap it. I added banana peppers and tomatoes. Parking lot on the north side, and the big mall lot behind, but also a few spots right behind the building (by the mall.) Pleasant place inside and out. I've been seeing a ton of TikTok's highlighting the companies recent changes to the menu and decided to venture to Westerville to see what the chatter is about. Not specific to this particular location but the CEO of the company has impeccable customer service. I frequently see him interacting by responding to questions and comments on social media. The inside of this location for sure gives crusty and outdated, even with the attempt to renovate. The sandwich, the sandwich was delicious! The quality of the meat was honestly impressive. The choice of Cooper cheddar cheese was well thought out. I opted for the new seeded roll and it was a little tough but I still throughly enjoyed the sandwich nonetheless. I got the regular size which is 6 inches, the same size as the valve option but provides more meat and cheese. I wish I would have gotten the largest option though because I was left wanting more! I could have done without the fries as they were somehow undercooked yet soggy. I'd for sure recommend Steak Escapes of some of the city's competitors any day. read more

The restaurant was clean inside, and the young man at the register was friendly and helpful. I ordered the 6 inch Grand Escape and fries. The food preparation was relatively quick considering they make these cheesesteaks to order. The fries were fresh, and cheesesteak was delicious. This was my first visit to a Steak Escape. My son had the Bourbon and Bacon sandwich and I had the Great Escape Fry. My portion of food was huge; for me it provided two meals. However, I don't recall that it had any Provolone cheese, so I had to add a lot of extras to the bowl when I got home: sour cream, feta cheese, and I would have included green onions had I remembered they were in the fridge. So very dirty. Finger prints all over the front entry. Every table needed a wipe down including the one we ended up eating at. There was a random computer chair out on the dining floor at a table... Heavy dust on all the hvac vents and light fixtures. Hopefully they don't hire someone to have their floors cleaned professionally because there was a 2 inch dirt line around the entire perimeter of the store. I work in facilities and that would be a call back at no charge to correct. No ketchup pump but instead a bowl of sticking-together ketchup packets, gross. The service was fine, but it's weird that they don't give you a number or take a name for your order. Instead they just call out whatever you ordered. Hopefully someone doesn't order what you did ! Not good operational practice IMO. The food was just okay. I liked the flavor of my black and blue sub, my gf did not like her sub so that was unfortunate. The fries were soggy and not well salted. I requested seasoned salt for the fries, which was confirmed during my order but wasn't added. When I pulled around to the window, I waited for about 8 minutes without anyone saying anything. While I understand that this is a difficult time, there was no one in line in front of me and I could see multiple employees through the window. First, Steak Escape was my second job way back in the day while I was in college. I've always appreciated the culture and delicious food. However, things have definitely changed in this organization over 25 years. The food has never been the problem with this particular location... the customer service, cleanliness and lack of a sense of urgency are HUGE problems. If you go through the drive thru be prepared to wait a minimum of 20 minutes. Customer service is beyond sub par. Not a single employee seems to want to be there. Plus, it must be quite a chore for the staff to have to pick up a spray bottle, a dish towel and attempt to clean any surface inside the store. My biggest gripe is the lack of a sense of urgency... YOU'RE A FAST FOOD CHAIN!!! When there's a line inside, outside and there's a lunch rush... try talking less and making more than one sandwich at a time... there's a reason the flat top is so big, USE IT!!! Unfortunately, I will never go back to this location. I blame all of these issues on the owner of the franchise, the absolutely atrocious management and whoever hired these lack luster employees to represent this company. Superb! I had the Barnyard BBQ cheesesteak and strawberry lemonade, my brother had the Grand Escape cheesesteak and lemonade; we shared the Homemade Gravy Fries. The lemonades had a delicious, lemon-pulpy flavor to them. I don't usually finish my drinks, but this one was half gone before the food came out. I never knew I needed gravy fries in my life before this. And the sandwiches, as well as being huge, were super-tasty.
