Horrible treatment by manager, David P. Had dinner with the family and used our gift card that our cousins had given us for our Anniversary. The waitress returned stating that there was nothing on the gift card. I presented the receipt that was given to us with the gift card, thinking that would solve the problem and they would honor the gift card, but instead, the manager proceeded to tell us that there was no way to prove that that receipt was for that gift card! Not so good. Won't get into it all by picking it apart. But I have to say I Would not return. Pulled pork had globs of fat. Is the cook to lazy to pull it out, because it was very obvious. My daughter took a bite of all that fat and had to go puke. No lie. Had a fish sandwich very thin not much fish just al lot of beading fries were cold tasted like they were freezer burned. Served on a huge pretzel roll to add more breading to an already over breaded sandwich. Previous visit had fish tacos the rice was like minute rice with a pad of butter .Not sure who they are fooling but I won't be back. Went back again service bad no silver ware with the meal. They did not want me taking up a certain area and asked me to squeeze into a booth with some friends . They are real good about asking if you want another drink to run the bill up but that about it. Great new place in downtown Crown Point, tons of TV's for sporting events and a very cool bar area upstairs, as well as outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Been there a bunch of times since it recently opened and have tried a lot of the different items on the menu, the 5 Alarm burger was my favorite but there are also a lot of other good items, the Macroni & Cheese is awesome as well! read more

Went in for the first time on a Saturday night with a couple of girlfriends hoping to find a cool place to hang out. We are all CP natives and thought it'd be fun. There were only about 5 other people in the bar at that time. Our waitress was slow and she had no personality. Probably my favorite place to eat in Crown Point. The staff is very friendly. The food is great. Have tried almost everything on the menu and would order it all again. Everything thing is fairly priced. Have never left unsatisfied. Only issue is the lack of parking. Try to find a place to park around the corner, it's definitely a place to stop and eat. read more

We tried this restaurant for a second time, and for the second time were disappointed. Unlike other reviewers, we did not have any problems with service. The problem lie in the quality of the food. I ordered fish and chips, thinking this would be a safe bet; however the fish was literally dripping with grease. The paper in the basket was soaked with it. While the fish tasted ok, I really couldn't eat more than one piece. Fries were just plain awful and hubby agreed to that wholeheartedly. He ordered a simple grilled cheese sandwich and was not impressed; he wasn't expecting much and pretty much got what he expected. On the upside, I have heard from others that the burgers are good. Just not sure I'll return to find out firsthand. read more

By far my favorite place to eat in crown point. They offer wild caught yellow fin tuna tacos, and they are the best fish tacos you'll ever eat. Not many restaurants offer wild caught fish, in fact I've never seen it. The cocktails are always excellent, and the best server is Tim, upstairs! read more

Food is good BUT the service is not. Last time we went we ordered pretty quickly but then sat with nothing for 45 minutes. Not even a refill on drinks at this point. We watched our waitress come check on her other tables surrounding us 3 times before we had to flag her down to even come by our table. We asked if our app was coming out soon and she did not even respond but turned and went to look. She came back and said sorry we lost your ticket but your dinner is ready but we never got your app order in. Btw we ordered everything at the same time. So not sure how they lost the only ticket we ordered. We told her to cancel the app thinking our dinner was ready. That was what she said but NOPE. We sat another 15 mins till our food came. When the manager came to check she did not seem to care that we sat that long and our whole order was never put out. So hate to say but will not be back. read more

Every time I go here, i'm glad i did. Nothing on the menu is overpriced and it's all delicious. $10 for an ahi tuna appetizer that fed 3? delicious and a great deal. every sandwich and wrap is fantastic, fries are better than average, but i prefer the pasta salad with my sandwich. potato soup is worth the trip by itself. Had been wanting to try this place so went for the Panthers game after finding BWW to be packed. The atmosphere felt more restaurant-y than bar-y which was nice because we had our 3-year-old in tow. The hostess was very polite, though our server seemed to have RBF (google it) - perhaps she presumed we'd be a pain since we had a kiddo, IDK but I tried to overlook it and give the place a chance. An older gentleman (the owner, perhaps?) checked in on us and really made you feel like you were giving money back to the community versus yet another chain - that stuff is one of my favorite things about the Main St/Square area - keeping the money in the community. We each ordered a beer, and the chef special - pork and mushroom alfredo. I am SUPER picky about alfredo and the plate was practically licked clean - it was so delicious. Kiddo got the grilled cheese kids meal for 5$ which was a good-sized portion. Husband and kiddo shared a caramel apple cheesecake - not my forte but they had zero complaints. I ordered the "Time Out" cocktail because I was intrigued by the ingredients and it was perfect. The right amount of boozage with sweetness so I was able to drink it without cringing at the booze-y taste many cocktails can have & at a 6$ wasn't too steep if you wanted to make a night of it. The only downsides were it seemed like the food took FOREVER to come out with the place probably 1/3 empty, if not more (I'm not sure what upstairs looked like patron-wise) and parking is scarce. Overall, try it out... we did and we have found a new place to add to our list of joints in the area we feel are appropriate for our kiddo when we need a beer or two. read more

First off, the staff were completely warm, attentive and helpful. We went on the Saturday of Valentine's day with my wife. I decided to go with the servers recommendation of the daily fish special of swordfish. It was cooked perfectly, with a mango salsa on top. Veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly as well. This is a great restaurant normally, but not today. We made the mistake of ordering one of their Cinco de Mayo specials. Why would we would expect an American fare establishment to be able to table a good Mexican meal? If you want Mexican food, there are plenty of great Mexican restaurants in the area. Specials cause too many issues. In our case, we ordered our meal as soon as our waitress came to the table - with our drink order. We were served after three other tables, all of which came in after us. We both ordered the Carne Asada. As you can guess, because it was so late arriving at our table, the beans and rice were cold and the meat was luke warm. They apologized about the serving size on the meat and compensated by bringing more to the table 10 to 15 minutes later but at least it was hot! They also offered to bring some HOT beans and rice, but we declined the offer. The menu said pico de gallo was served with the dish but turned up missing. When we asked, they did refer back to their menu, said "yes" it does come with the meal, and politely stated they would get us some if we liked! The tortillas were super and they were hot! A big disconnect between the person who designed the special menu and the cooks and wait staff. Might be good to stick to what you know. read more

My family and I have been at S21 dining in and we also order carry-outs often. I have to say the only time the service was slow was when we ate upstairs in the outside area probably because they were short of staff. However, the food was great and the mixed drinks were perfect! We specially love their burgers, very reasonable priced and generous portions. I think these are some of the best in the area. Being also in the food business, we've tried plenty other expensive ones that are flat, overcooked and greasy. I personally enjoy the Chef's pasta...always perfect and with fresh veggies! It was raining and we needed cover. This looked inviting from the outside. The first floor was dark and empty on a Saturday afternoon with the Bears playing. Should have been a clue. We asked to go upstairs. It had about 20 people there and it had a lot more light coming in. Not the lively place I was expecting. We got the chips and pico to start. The chips were nice and heavy with a good non greasy crunch. The chunky tomato sauce had no taste and had to be smothered with hot sauce to get rid of the sweetness. The pot roast sandwich was quite tasty and came with 4 slabs of meat. Or I thought. One of them turned out to be a chunk of gristle. Right! The mashed tots were not even warm? I tried a couple of my buddies fries. Geez Louise, I should have just run my tongue over a salt lick! The service was fine, but I am not thinking that this is a destination as the newest member of the Crown Point restaurant club! read more

We were there Saturday afternoon for a late lunch / early dinner . Both of our meals were fine. My wife had a big salad I had the short ribs. Our waitress was ok at best. My biggest complaint was 2 of the tables around us and ourselves were watching the White Sox game . All of a sudden in the 9th inning the manager changed from the Sox to the Cubs . We all said something to the waitress and she said that's what the manager wants on.... Then said the Sox are still on one of the other tvs . Just not the one we could see from our tables . Very nice location and building. I actually live walking distance and thought how awesome and convenient it was considering they dont have bad food here. However, I have waited time and time again for a waitress to even acknowledge me. And spent an inconsiderable amount of time here (either solo or with a party of 2) WAITING. For EVERYTHING. Nice people and nice establishment but the wait time and service is NOT made up for elsewhere. And I'm sorry because I really wish it was. I'd probably order a lot more often. Was really let down. Went there on a Saturday night with a group of friends for dinner and drinks. Not even sure if my drinks had any alcohol in them they were so weak. We were never offered desert and as soon as we were almost finished dinner was handed our checks. We had planned on staying for a few more hours and have more drinks, but after being handed our checks felt as if we were being asked to leave. Parking is also very poor and we had to park at the bank. Won't be back. What a shame, was really hoping for more from this place. read more
