Paid for their services before and in our last request, we were deliberately ignored. Emailed, called and left a message with a staff member. I was told all bookings go through Melody. No call, no email back. It was quite obvious that they do not need more business. We went elsewhere and we were actually quite pleased! It's hard to find someone you trust but we did and it wasn't with State Termite. All our future needs will be taken care of elsewhere. read more

The pricing was unreasonably high, and they were unwilling to negotiate a fair deal for our clients. Additionally, our experience with Melody was disappointing, as she came across very rude and unhelpful. We recommend exploring other termite companies for better service and value. Pest Tech Hawaii is the best in the business hands down. Don't waste your time on this one. . read more

Today 11/18 Randy from state termite exterminator came to my apartment to treat for roaches. As embarrassing as it is, I was ready to move because of the infestation. I was once a certified exterminator myself. So, I had a pretty good plan of how to treat. Randy mentioned that I had a good attack which made it easier for him to come in and drop the bomb.LOL. Randy first became with intense observation in places which identified activity. He used flashlight and smell to detect heavy locations. Looked for points of entry and water sources. THEN, he began treating with baits in areas I wouldn't have considered. He focused on kitchen and bathroom. Afterwards, he started base board treatment. I pulled everything from lower cabinets, pulled refer and stove out. In the kitchen and bathroom Randy used to types of aerosols. Talked to me about long and what I should expect to see from my unwanted roommates. He reminded me of how and when to clean up. This Bruhdah, was first class and top notch. I can without and doubt recommend Randy for extermination. Your company really got a good one with you. Much Mahalo. And respect. read more

Scheduled for someone to come out to give me an estimate and never heard back from them.

I didn't actually use this company yet. They are coming out tomorrow to do a termite inspection because I have a serious termite problem occurring. This was only discovered after trying to renovate. This review is about the amazing office staff. I left a message and Michelle promptly returned my call. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. She also worked a miracle by having a termite inspector come to my house by tomorrow morning. I spoke to Michelle after 2pm today. I have other contractors on hold since this termite problem just reared it's ugly head. Knowing that, Michelle made sure to accommodate my needs. I'm sure the termite inspector will be amazing as well. I will update my post after the inspection and treatment. She also helped me save money by giving me some tips and tricks that they use to mitigate my termite and pest control problems. Long story short, my neighbor neglected his property. After several neighbors complained, since it was becoming a rodent den, he knocked it down without treating the rodent problem. I live next door. One morning I was leaving for work and the house was there, then when I came home the home was demolished. Ughhh. read more

Highly recommend! I had the pleasure of speaking with both Melody and Alvin. I was introduced to them because of raving reviews from others who have used their services. They have such good work ethics and extremely thorough in their review and recommendations on whether I needed a termite inspection report. Alvin is very knowledgeable and patient. He took the time to answer my questions. Mahalo, Melody and Alvin, for the great customer service and quick response. I will be referring friends and family to you! read more

I am so please with the service I received from State Termite. Alvin is so nice and honest. He came to my home, on time, inspected the areas of concern and explained to me what the problem was. He then recommended a product for me to purchase (less than $15 @ City Mill). He did not try to gouge me with unnecessary treatments like orange oil treatment which another company had recommended for my neighbor's unit. (We have Sentricon around our association property). State Termite is a company with integrity. read more

Alexandria at State Termite & Pest is responsive and always friendly. I used them 2x for different properties and had Randy, who is excellent-he calls to say if he's early or running late. He's efficient and friendly-these are the qualities I value as a busy customer. Pricing is reasonable also! No pest issues- big smile! read more

State Termite has been our main pest control specialist for many years. From inspecting our new home to our current pest control treatments they do it all. The crew is professional and did everything with great care. You can see the passion in their work! As always with every situation it can be different and at times difficult; I can rest easier knowing that I no longer have to worry about those pests getting into my house! read more

No matter how good or bad your service is communication is very important. State termite has demonstrated a consistency for not communicating adequately. Alvin Fukuyama was recommended to do a termite inspection, and since I know nothing about pest control and did not have a lot of time to research every company on the island I scheduled the inspection with State Termite. Melody (who I think must be the office manager) was extremely patient with me as I explained some unusual circumstances. She was courteous, helpful, polite, and very professional. She also responded very promptly to my initial inquiry which was via email. On the day of the termite inspection, Alvin arrived punctually and introduced himself. After giving a cute State Termite-logoed tool that was a bottle opener and tape measure, he began to talk about basic termite information which I found to be very helpful. I was impressed by his knowledge, professionalism, and efficiency. There were no termites, thankfully, but we did get to see two dead giant cockroaches and one more crawling around. Therefore, I arranged a bug-spraying through state termite. Again, Melody was pleasant and professional, and accommodated my request for a weekend ASAP. On the day of the spraying, the tech called me to let me know when he was nearby and to ask about parking so there was no delay with the appointment. The tech worked efficiently and answered all of my questions. And since I have found numerous dead giant roaches but have seen no live ones, I feel it was effective. I am so glad State Termite was recommended, and I plan to use them if I ever have any pest problems in the future! read more

Alvin Fukuyama performed a termite inspection on a condo I am looking to purchase. He was very thorough with the inspection and answered any and all questions I had. He was extremely friendly and even offered advice on what to look for in the future, and how to protect my property from termites. I would recommend Mr. Fukuyama to anyone looking to have a termite inspection done, and will definitely contact him for any future termite inspection needs! read more

These guys have been in business a long, long time, so I'm not sure how I can be the first to review, but...ok. PROs: +Knowledgeable & a lot of common sense: Used them for our house inspection, and also called them when years later, we found some flying termite AKA drywood termite droppings around the outside patio. Alvin, who came out, was very nice and knew A LOT about termites in our area. Gave us some very practical DIY advice on preventative measures, and confirmed that we didn't have an active infestation (whew). +Efficient and good value: We recently did a preventative ground treatment service with them for subterranean termites, since the house hadn't had it before, and again they were incredibly efficient, nice, clean, and practical folks. Very reasonable and gave us a pretty precise estimate, based on square footage. Amazing! +Local company; yep yep! +Customer service: answers their phone during business hours! You get to talk to the same people more than once and they remember your name.Yay! +Accepts credit cards: pay by phone after the work is done, or mail a check if you prefer. Easy! CONs: Nuttin'. Note: address on Yelp (Koaha Pl) is different than on business cards (99-927 Iwaena Street), but phone number is the same (486-7378). Since they're coming to treat YOUR place, not sure how much it matters, but hey, it's intel. Would use them again. Their work is warrantied, too; standard business practice but also good to know. read more

I would like to recognize Alvin and his assistant who came on very short notice to diagnose a termite problem at my Mom's house today. Turns out the droppings were coming from the kitchen cabinets and not the house structure. Easy enough fix and cannot say enough about this company and would/will recommend to anyone who asks about a good exterminator. Thank You State Termite for your great customer service. Alvin Fukuyama & his son came over to give me an estimate to tent. But after inspecting he said I didn't really needed to tent. The termite infestation was localized to an old Japanese tansu furniture and he said to take it to Chill Space to kill the termites. This saved me thousands of dollars of not having to tent and the Chill Space facility which has temperatures of -5 degrees froze and killed the termites and any eggs. Mr Fukuyama did not get any business from me and gave his advice freely so in the future after my Terminix contract expires I plan to switch to State Termite. Jeff H read more

Absolutely the best pest control company in the state of Hawaii. State Termite was the 4TH company I interviewed. Alvin Fukuyama, the owner, came out to do the assessment. He is knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. I think many people jump to the conclusion that they must tent their homes, and this is often unnecessary. Alvin did not find that our home needed tenting. Being a current member of the Hawaii Pest Control Association's Board of Directors, a current member of the State Pest Control Board, a former president of the Hawaii Pest Control Association and a former State Pesticide Advisory Committee Member, Alvin's expertise is unbeatable. Everyone, from the friendly and helpful ladies who answer the trouble calls, to our service man, Aaron, is superior in customer service. I highly recommend State Termite & Pest Control. Your home is well worth using them. read more

I've been using Alvin at State Termite for many years now, and he never disappoints! As a Realtor, what I especially appreciate about Alvin is his understanding of his role in the sales transaction. The termite inspection can be a sensitive issue at times, and Alvin's professionalism ensures that the Home Owner will have a clear understanding of these pests, treatment options and prevention tips that brings much value to both parties. His level of expertise is amazing and my clients are always impressed, which makes me super happy to continue using him. On the back end, his office staff is timely, efficient and very supportive in working with Agents and escrow. Thank you Alvin and staff at State Termite! read more

I can't say enough about State Termite. They are an amazing company with extremely knowledgeable staff. THE WORST!!! Trying to schedule an appointment for a termite inspection on a home my parents just purchased in "as is" condition. They want to do renovation anyway and wanted the sale to go smoothly that they decided to do all of the inspections on their own. When I tried to schedule I was told that I needed various documents from escrow and the previous owners information. I told them that the sale had already closed and it has been paid in full with no mortgage. The lady on the phone (I think her name started with an M?) didn't seem to want to hear it. Basically argued with me that they needed all of this old information to do a termite inspection that my parents were paying for on a home they already owned. Now I can't speak for their actual service as we decided to go with another company. But their customer service needs some real work. They have a "better than you" attitude and if you don't do it the way they want it (regardless if they are wrong) then they will definitely give you the run around. read more

This company was very friendly. I called them up to get some problems cured and I was treated so well. Was seen by Alvin and another colleague(sorry forgot his name) today to evaluate our termite situation. So grateful they did. Rather than "sell" us on any needed service or product, Alvin gave us honest advice about our situation which we could take care of ourselves. This was my Dad's home and he too was so grateful for the visit and honest advice. We will Definitely recommend this company to anyone needing pest control and will use them if needed in the future. read more
