I was in the area and craved a pizza, obviously. I walked inside this establishment and I wanted to check out their menu. They gave me a magnet with a code to scan through my phone's camera. It directed me to their website to check out the menu. That was a new concept and interesting. I looked it over and made a call to them to place my order. I ordered a Large Thin Crust Pizza with Crumbled Sausage, Pepperoni, and Onion. I was told it would be ready by 9, so I just waited outside in my car. It probably took about 30 minutes. I waited a bit to try it out, since the box was pretty hot. They even put foil in the box. The pizza was, of course, crispy. It was a Thin Crust Pizza after all. I'd say they didn't cheap out on the crumbled sausage or pepperoni, but the onions were difficult to locate. That was a bummer. The cheese layered on the pizza was good enough. I did enjoy their crispy crust for the most part. It was definitely a change of pace from other pizza places. The pizza as a whole, would mostly be on the line of average. I didn't hate it, but I just didn't love it, either. I would also say that they should have gone heavier on the sauce. It was pretty distant. The employees were friendly and easy to communicate with. I didn't have any issues here in terms of service, so that's a big plus. Overall, this place is a tiny bit above average for me, so they deserve three stars. I might return here, but I might not. They just let a salad with BROWN lettuce get delivered to me and offered me a $5 credit when I called to complain. The salad was $6.75. Totally unacceptable. I had such a craving for pizza after so many days of lockdown and State Line Pizza was minutes away, so I figured why not. I ordered a small mushroom and onion pizza, and they said within 45 minutes. It was faster than that ... piping hot, thanks to a sheet of foil over the pizza, and the perfect blend of ingredients. The sauce has a bit of a tang to it and the cheese is nicely chewy. Lots of mushrooms and onions, with everything cooked just right, nothing underdone. I will definitely be ordering again. Also, the driver was very careful to wear a mask and social distance, something I really appreciated at this time. Kudos to State Line Pizza and their staff. read more

Really disappointed in their prices and quality. 45$ for a family size pizza, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks and 12 wings. The pizza was as big as a large from Pizza Hut. The stale garlic bread was so tiny for 3$ The small dried chicken wings were not good at all. Stopped in for a slice but ended up getting 2. I'm glad I did & not for the reason you would think. The first slice was so soggy that it was almost inedible. The 2nd slice was still very soggy but not as bad as the first. The girl at the window was very friendly. I was a little thrown off by the ordering window. State Line Pizza is to die for! The crust is great, the sauce is perfectly seasoned, and it tastes just the way a pizza should taste. When we moved here from Chicago years ago, we found State Line Pizza to be the best in the area.....and it still is. It tastes like the old school, family run, neighborhood Italian pizza joints.....NOT like the commercial, big company, cookie cutter pizza you commonly find now. The staff has always been courteous, and deliveries usually arrive in the time frame given. State Line Pizza also has sandwich, appetizers, and an assortment of dinners available. This joint is FIRE. I've been eating here for over 15 years. The pizza is excellent, with crust that has the right amount of crunch, fresh toppings, and tasty pepperoni and sausage. The sandwiches are great also. My two favorites are the Special Beef and the Supremo sandwich. The Beef has two lightly toasted garlic flavored buns with mozzarella cheese and peppers with absolutely melt in your mouth beef. Comes with excellent Au Gus on the side. The Supremo comes with salami, bacon, pepperoni, onions and mozzarella. Absolutely delicious garlic dipping sauce on the side. They've also got a bunch of other stuff, salads, chicken, pasta, calzones etc. My favorites are the pizza and two sandwiches I mentioned above though. They have a few locations but the best in my opinion is the original on State Line Ave in Hammond IN. Check them out! read more

Now If I want pizza or beef I'll pick it on my way home from work or I'll drive the 60 mile round trip to get it which usually gets sampled on the way home because you can't drive that far with that smell calling my name. read more

The original location and probably the best as far as the pizza goes. I don't think they are a sit down restaurant like the one in Schererville, but they are one of the best choices when choosing delivery in Hammond. HORRIBLE Customer service! The last 3 times that I've ordered from here I've had problems. The first time I ordered a large pizza, and they sent me a medium pizza with a small pizza that looked as if the driver let it sit on it's side the entire ride here. The 2nd time they gave me a pizza that I had to rebake because they didn't cook it long enough. The 3rd time they sent me a pizza that they didn't even bother cutting correctly! I called tonight and ask nicely if they had a new cook, because my last few orders had issues. I asked the young lady "can you make sure that they cut the pizza correctly & don't smash it" only to hear "can you not...... I'll make sure that they don't smash your pizza." The girl was so snarly & condescending! I always tip the driver no less than $5 bucks, and I order a $27 pizza. When I'm spending $32 for a pizza I would expect an APOLOGY for my past experiences, and a KIND "sure man, I'll make sure that everything is done correctly." My family immigrated to an area near this place many years ago and, despite the fact that the area has changed drastically over the years and we have since moved away, we try to order from here every so often despite the 20-30 minute drive. We have been ordering from State Line Pizza since the 80's. I have no idea who has taken over management but for the last 12 times...the customer service over the phone has been rude, delivery takes longer than normal ( that is if you get it) they closed one night w/o delivering our order. Food comes cold or wrong. Today 6/15 we placed an order....granted delivery was late but my favorite driver who's name I don't know delivered it hot but the garlic dressing which I specifically asked for on both did arrive. When I placed a call the "wonderful girl" who answered said my manager put it in himself. So, I am the liar???? I called back and spoke to said manager and he said it was the cooks. Go figure!!!! Pass the buck. No I apologize, no nothing. We weren't here to collect free food but it is sad that this well known establishment has truly fallen to the dumps. I was a loyal customer for 2 years or more. I loved state line pizza, the first time I tried it, i was hooked, instantly it became my #1 local pizza joint. But one day recently, I order pizza, with a side of fries, and a cup of cheese sauce, for my fries. When I got home and opened my food, I had a box with fries, and a LITTLE bit of cheese drizzled over them. I called them, explained to them I did not order "CHEESE FRIES" I ordered a side of fries with a cup of cheese sauce. The lady said "oh. ... sorry." And I said, "is there anything you can do, maybe replace my fries?" She said "No!" I will never order from there again.
