After visiting for brunch today, I'm excited to be able to update my review with a full five stars…read more- Swing the Teapot is officially one of my local favorites! I had the tea experience with Black Velvet and it was just what I needed. I'll admit that the licorice and peppermint were very faint, but it was still a tasty tea and sharing a large pot with my partner, we finished the whole thing. My MIL loved her ginger peach tea, and my friends each enjoyed theirs, one getting his go-to peppermint and the other trying the red raspberry and remarking in how pleased she was with her choice. Lesson learned- if you come here and DON'T get tea (with the adorable teapot, teacup and saucer, all charmingly mismatched) you're doing it wrong. Because I'm weird, I just ordered the Irish soda bread with a dish of whipped cream as a "light" breakfast, and I appreciated that the server humored me to the fullest. My partner had a blueberry muffin that he was super pleased with, probably his favorite that he's found in the area so far. My MIL unabashedly devoured her chicken salad sandwich and the potato salad it came with - usually she's picky so that's quite the endorsement. The avocado toast and burger that my friends ordered all looked fantastic too. Great service, delicious food and tea, and very good prices- next visit will be for the live music!

The teas were served in actual tea pots and cups. Food was pretty good overall, my daughter loved the pancakes, which has been the go-to order. Service is a hit or miss depending on the time of day. The first time we went was on early in the morning before noon so it was not busy. My husband ordered the Irish Breakfast, which was very comforting and filling. I ordered the fish and chips, which were pretty good. I took the leftovers home. The price for the dining experience was very reasonable. The most recent time we went was around lunch time and it was buzzing. We were lucky that we got seated but service definitely suffered this time around. For this dining experience we ordered the pancakes from the adult menu. My husband ordered the Shepherd's Pie and I had the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. We took the leftover pancakes home as we devoured the Shepherd's Pie and Eggs Benedict. I'd definitely go back one day to experience dining with a live band.

Visit Date: May 25, 2022…read more I came here to see VHS perform. My boyfriend is a drummer with VHS and I catch as many of his gigs that I possibly can. My son was with his dad that night so we loaded up his drums in my car after I got out of work got to prohibition and set up for the show. The food we had was pretty good. We got a half pepperoni, half cheese half sized pizza and mozzarella sticks. The venue itself is a little bit smaller for live music. But when the weather is good they have a window with barrel tables and seats so you can sit outside to hear the musicians play. I was alternating between being outside and inside. My boyfriend's mom who I love came to the gig as well so I was spending time with her outside and time inside dancing and checking out the band. The bar is pretty big and they have one more area after you pass the bathrooms with some tables for hanging out. I liked the feel of prohibition besides the space being somewhat small and the food was good. I can't say anything about the alcohol although I'm guessing except for specialty cocktails it's probably the same as anywhere else. I've been sober for over 2 years now so if I'm at a bar it's for music and food.

Well kept and super clean as are the restrooms. Acousticly friendly and nicer than many other college theaters in the area. They have various musical and stage acts that take place all year round. Clearly, another hidden gem on Long Island and only 20 minutes from my house. Nicely nestled on the Malloy Campus there was plenty of parking and it was a quick walk to the theater. I don't think I realized the scope of this theater from either walking in or being in the lobby. What a BEAUTIFUL venue. Being in the center isle, 2nd row was also a treat. The seating is really comfortable. I have been a Benanti fan for years and the idea of seeing her live again was truly a treat. She was accompanied by the South Shore Symphony Orchestra and The Malloy College CAP-21 chorus for some numbers. The sound in the theatre was wonderful. The lighting was great. The show was amazing... Not only is Laura an AMAZING singer but she has an extraordinary persona and tells many stories of her journey. The theatre personnel are friendly and helpful. My wife and I just loved this venue and are looking forward to the next show!

I came here about a week ago on a Saturday for their Heartbreakers party (5pm-9pm) with a few…read morefriends and had a great time! Tickets (~$30/pp) were easy to purchase via their website and they email you the QR code which you can show at the door when you arrive. No need to print the ticket! I was surprised at how big the venue was inside because from the outside, it looked like a small spot. Apparently this spot has been around for awhile because when I mentioned the place to my stepfather in law, he knew about it from when he was younger! The place was also surprisingly very clean and tidy. Coat check was $3 cash and the line went relatively fast. I was really happy they did not misplace or lose my jacket at the end of the night (speaking from my clubbing days from "back in the day"). You get a physical ticket after handing them your jacket and they even tell you to take a picture of the ticket in case you lose it during the night. After getting my coat checked, there was a table with lit up flower headbands and lit up foam sticks. These were both a hit as almost everyone at the venue had one of each. I would say the age range went from those in their 30s up to women in their 50s. Everyone was respectful of each other which was great. The place was crowded but not so crowded that you couldn't move around or felt claustrophobic though at times, the venue did get kind of warm inside. I did not order any food but I think the VIP tables had that option. I also did not order any drinks because I do not drink alcohol. My friends that did drink seemed happy with what they got. There were multiple bars throughout the venue which was great as you didn't have to walk far to get a drink. I had no issues with any of the staff throughout my night. The bartenders were pleasant as well as the staff handling the coats, the bouncers and security. There were two bathrooms (men and women) and there was always a line for both. At this specific party it was females only so staff allowed us to use the mens bathroom. The DJ (DJ Mary Mac) was great and played a good variety of music throughout the night. There was even a portion of the night where January birthday party goers got up on the stage to celebrate their birthdays. Sound quality was great and even though this was a "day party", it really felt like we were partying at night like the good old clubbing days haha. The con is that parking is hard to find so arrive early before the party. It is located right next to the LIRR train station so I guess that's good for those that want to travel by train. A lot of areas around the venue was 1 hour parking until 6pm or 8pm which was annoying because the party I was going to started at 5pm. Overall, I would definitely return for other events! It seems from their website that they always have something going on!

As for the food, it was one of the best I had. It was a 8-course meal, and except from the scallops and the lobster bisque that I found a bit too salty for my taste, I'm still giving the chef and staff my full 5 stars. When we finally flagged down a server, she first tried to tell us that we could not sit there because they had a reservation coming - we were like 'yeah, that reservation is ours!' After some back and forth, she reluctantly took our order but then came back to say the kitchen was closing! We were starving at this point and rushed in a couple of order for nachos, tacos, and pizza. The pizza was decent, but the tacos and nachos were a massive disappointment. There were just 2 small tacos and some chips on the plate - for $20! And the nachos were 80% chips, hardly any guac, sour cream, and a very small portion of beans. Not worth it to get food here, eat elsewhere then come up for drinks and the view.
