First of all, it was so happy to see that they had some same day appointment availability! Why that may not always be the case, some booking systems will still only show starting next day. I also loved that their menu had a lot of options, including more than one type of Brazilian to book. When I showed up to my appointment, I checked in and filled out some basic, new client information. I was then taken to my room with my waxer promptly after. They use hard wax here which many people prefer, but for me hurts the most. But I don't really care what is used as long as they're hygienic, quick, effective and will not spawn in-grown hairs. My waxer was quick, thorough and one week out...things are still looking good! As a bonus, first time clients got a significant discount which made me even happier about my experience. While my experience before check out was already excellent, that was just icing on the cake. Overall, I left very impressed and will definitely return again in the future!

My little sister ran to her appointment…read moreand arrived flushed and a little sweaty, and the technician -- I believe her name was B -- proceeded to wax half the area before suddenly stopping and telling her that she was "too sweaty" to continue and that she would need to wait 40 MINS + an additional hour if the next client showed up. For context, my sister has been getting waxed regularly for over eight years. She is athletic, healthy, and this has never happened to her before. She was not dripping in sweat or experiencing anything extreme -- she had simply rushed to make the appointment and was flushed. None of that should even matter in terms of how respectfully a client is treated, but it made the reaction feel even more disproportionate. The technician told her she would need to wait 40 minutes or longer before they could continue, in part because another client was coming in. That is where this started to feel less like a legitimate waxing concern and more like a scheduling issue that my sister was being blamed for. I could completely understand saying, "Let's give you a few minutes to cool down so the wax adheres better." But stopping halfway through a service and telling someone to wait 40+ minutes is a very different situation. I have also been getting waxed for around 10 years, including throughout hot and humid New York summers, and I have never experienced or even heard of someone being treated this way simply for being a little sweaty. Beyond the explanation making very little sense, telling a client she is "too sweaty" in that manner is incredibly rude and inappropriate. There are professional, discreet ways to address moisture without making someone feel embarrassed or ashamed of their body. The fact that half the service had already been completed before this suddenly became an issue also made me seriously question the technician's judgment and experience. If it was genuinely unsafe to wax her, why was the service started in the first place? This is also a waxing salon with fans and powder available to help keep the skin dry. What made the situation even worse was what happened afterward. My sister called me on FaceTime while she was there and was literally in tears trying to advocate for herself and explain that the situation had made her uncomfortable. When my other younger sister later called the salon for more information, the woman at the front desk described my sister as "aggressive" and said she had made the staff uncomfortable. Well let me tell you, I'm the oldest sister and our youngest sister doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. It made me so sad to see her shakily defending herself. She was upset, embarrassed, and trying to stand up for herself while crying -- not behaving aggressively. All the receptionist had to do was apologize! Getting defensive with emotional clients is never the answer. If you are the owner please review the call as they are all recorded. My sister also told me that after the waxing specialist left the room, she overheard waxers giggling nearby. I cannot say whether they were laughing about her, and I won't pretend to know that. But in that moment, after she had already been made to feel embarrassed and vulnerable, hearing staff giggling only made her feel even more humiliated. Timing, discretion, and basic emotional awareness matter enormously in intimate services like waxing. At the end of the day, this felt like an inexperienced waxer and a scheduling problem being turned into my sister's fault, while her feelings were completely dismissed. A client should never leave a waxing appointment feeling ashamed of a normal bodily response, humiliated, and then be labeled "aggressive" simply for saying she felt uncomfortable. Stopping a service halfway through, giving a questionable explanation, making the client feel embarrassed, and then dismissing her reaction afterward is unacceptable. I would not recommend this location based on how this was handled. SHAME ON YOU ALL YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. MEANGIRL ACTIVITIES AT THIS LOCATION!!!! also not this is not the first time ive heard of other issues at this location. DO NOT LET THE FOUR STARS FOOL YOU. TERRIBLE STAFF HERE.

I have been going to this Nail Spa ever since it opened over a year ago. From my first visit, I knew I found a "home" for my manicures and pedicures. This spa was spotless even before COVID, but now they are even more attentive to hygiene. Everyone wears masks, there is social distancing, and all areas are constantly sanitized before and after each customer. If this isn't enough, all the nail technicians are attentive and expert at what they do. The cherry on top is that you earn points every time you get a manicure, pedicure, or any other service, so there are times you will earn a free manicure or pedicure. It is best to call for an appointment so that the salon is never too crowded. Clearly, I highly recommend Starry Nail Spa! read more

I came in the other day to get my nails trimmed and have transparent polish put on. The experience was great! I work in a client facing & professional environment, so looking groomed is absolutely necessary. The technicians did a fantastic job for my nails, and I feel more confident with their job than doing it myself. So I went back today to get my nails done again. Once again, I had a great experience! I recently moved to NYC from SF and desperately needed to find a new go-to nail salon/manucurist. THIS IS IT! I have been there three times so far and LOVED every visit!! They are very welcoming and truly make sure that you are happy with their work. My technician (May) was so meticulous and made sure I was okay with everything she did. My nails looked perfect! The woman who pampered my feet and brought them back to civilization did her work methodically and with precision. The salon was clean and spacious. Water or tea was offered upon arrival and there wasn't a heavy nail polish odor permeating the space. Some of their equipment such as the pumice pad were disposable while others had a careful run through the autoclave. It's often said " you pay for what you get" and I tend to agree. They are attentive and clean. They keep it pretty dark in there so I've noticed that the regulars would use their phone lights to check the nails and ask for changes if needed. It would appear that fancy designs are their thing but basic fills require monitoring. For me, the pedicure tool usage is something I've had to monitor especially since COVID but they've been good about getting me new tools if I am suspicious about any one thing they're using on me. However, if you decide to come here for a wax, ANY wax, ask for Cindy. She's the owners wife. If she is not there, for the love of all that is holy do not do it!! No one else there is a certified waxer and you and your skin wil be sorry for days to come. They will pull wrong. They will double dip if not monitored and again, your skin will be sorry for days! Go for the nails. They are wonderful at that.

I'm praying the tools were sterilized because my toe is red and swollen and ripe for an infection. I think I'll stick to Posh and Wellzen down the road--have had great experiences there.

While I couldn't quite figure out the massage chair, I did still manage to get a semi-automatic massage while my feet were being scrubbed/polished! After my toes were done, I moved over to the manicure area. Decided to take a risk and try an oval shape today as opposed to my usual short square/squoval and it turned out a bit cattier/pointier than expected but it's all good! Now that it's been a few hours, I'm surprised at the thin-ness of the gel nails. There's 2 layers of color between the clear coats, and I've never had my nails feel this flexible with gel before (though they may have shaved off more than usual with that drill looking tool, I don't know)! This place is definitely close and convenient, and it looked like there were a lot of regulars for the regular polish manis, I guess time will tell whether I'll be back! EDITED to add: it's the next day and my fingers are throbbing from the intense filing. It definitely broke skin on multiple fingerpads - not to the point of bleeding but enough for even a hand wash to burn. Hopefully this heals up quick! :(

Service: Although the service was great and staff were very friendly, I can't say I would recommend…read morethis nail salon. I was a bit disappointed with how my nails turned out, and it doesn't seem like the staff pay attention to detail. My nails weren't painted as close to the cuticle as I'd like them to be. It seemed like a rushed job and turned out a bit messy. My friend, who was with me getting her nails done also, felt the same way. It seems that the staff just rush through customers in order to get to as many customers as they can. I definitely won't be returning to this nail salon. Ambiance: The place is nice, modern, and kept clean. The place isn't too big - only about 10 stations in the back for pedicures. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this nail salon. I was excited to maybe find a new nail place in Brooklyn, but it was disappointing and made me not want to return.
