This is an excellent diner to go to especially if you're hungry. A lot of food for not a lot of money. People are nice.

We stopped here on way back home from camping and kayaking at Trap Pond State Park. My husband was in heaven from the diner. Salad bar had lots of good choices, including potato salad, cole slaw, standard salad fixings, and pickled beets. Entrees are huge. I had fried catfish, which was cooked to perfection. My husband had 1/2-roasted chicken, which came with stuffing and gravy. Fries are double-fried, which I love. All the food was flavorful. Dessert was included, pudding or ice cream. Don't go there. The food was really bad. The menu is way out of control. 4 solid pages of nothing that matches. A kitchen can't survive with that many different items. The seafood was not fresh, most items are frozen. Which is sad because the location. The salad bar was a joke. But they wanted to charge $3.99. Items were kept cold but the arrangement left you wth? Our original plan was to eat at Rudy's Family Restaurant. After standing in the line for five minutes to get into the restaurant we decided to look at the breakfast buffet and quickly left the line. The food section was a boring run of the mill breakfast, similar to popular hotel chains I stay at. We made a beeline to "Stargate" Diner down the road. After reading Yelp reviews I wasn't sure if I had made a mistake. All I can say? You have a new fan. My eggs benedict was so good served with home fries. Boyfriends western omelet was really good also served with home fries. Now get this? Our total for breakfast for two people was 12.98!!!! We will definitely be back. Awesome attentive service in a relaxed atmosphere. Awesome food and best prices! So if your passing through I would not hesitate to eat here. read more

IF YOU WANT COVID- COME HERE!!! it is very transparent the owners of Stargate feel like they are above the law(they aren't) and this place is guaranteed to get you COVID. Tables are not 6 feet apart and they think it's a great idea to put everyone clustered together. They are sitting well above the legal capacity and it's disgusting. This is a consistent issue at both their Harrington and seafood locations. Save yourself the medical bills and potential death and skip this nasty place. The food is good, but not worth your life and health. I've been here a few times and have ALWAYS had a great experience, however the last time I was here, I felt otherwise. For starters- hands down the best food in the area. Great portions for a great price. Large selection of options so everyone can find something they would like. Overall, service is awesome. Management is friendly and when present they have stopped by to see how we were doing. However, the last time I was there(several days ago)- we had a girl that was new and clearly had no idea what she was doing(in the sense she has never worked as a waitress) she got my multiple things wrong with my order and wasn't confident like at all. part of me felt really bad- I would think she would maybe shadow someone until she felt confident to do everything on her own(?) but I digress. honestly I don't even care about that but she was one of the most awquard people I have ever encountered. energy was just bad- it was actually uncomfortable being around her . I wanted to say something so bad, but didn't because I didn't want to be mean or get her in trouble- however it's been like 2 days and I'm still upset by my experience so I decided to write this. I guess I'm used to having great service when I'm there and this was the first time I felt let down. I'll still continue to go here, And I'll just pray I never get that woman again. I don't think this should deter you from coming here because this place is AWESOME! We just had a wonderful lunch. Our server, Felicia, made it more enjoyable. She was not only efficient but personable. My mom and I had the special Cowboy Burgers, fries, and a yummy pickle. My dad had a meatball sub w/fries. None of us could finish our meal, just gonna have an excellent lunch for tomorrow. Since mom and I had a special, we got ice cream for free. I'm so full!! I don't know what the food is like yet but the service is not necessarily friendly. I came in to get a Cesar salad with chicken as take out and other than the owner at the cash register, none of the servers acknowledged me. Well actually, one did after 10 minutes, asked if someone had taken care of me. There were 3 or 4 walking around doing their tasks. I chocked it up to them just trying to avoid me so they could go home. It was the end of the night. One in particular saw me come in, avoided eye contact the whole time, and then when I left, watched me leave. I mean dang, I could even get a smile? Or a "hi, how ya doing?" Oh well, I'm a great tipper in-spite of my appearance. I am also a small business owner who treats her clients to lunch. Guess there's no point in coming back here with a client if they aren't going to take care of me. Maybe it's because it was late. Maybe it's because of how I look. Overall, we generally like this diner for the food. However, we did not have a positive experience with the service during our last visit. A gentleman took our drink order for breakfast. Then a waitress took our food order. While we were eating, the waitress stopped briefly to ask if we wanted more coffee. My husband said yes, but she then disappeared, and never brought the coffee. After waiting quite a while, and seeing no sign of our waitress, we nabbed the gentleman who took our drink order, and asked him to please bring us more coffee. We then spotted our waitress standing around up by the front desk. The gentleman finally poured more coffee for my husband, but not before he stopped at all the other tables first to see if they needed a refill. Having to wait and wait, having to search for someone to serve us, seeing our server just idly standing around, and then watch everyone else get served first after we specifically asked for a refill, is not our idea of good service, and our tip reflected that. Generally we like to go to smaller, local places where the service is more attentive. Thought we'd come here for a change, but didn't enjoy it so much. read more

They have the best dinner special pick two meals on a list for $22 I always get the chicken Parmesan and my husband always gives the turkey dinner. With that meal you get cellular or a cup of soup and you get dessert if you're too full to eat it they will pack it to go. The best food in southern Delaware!!! C: Crabcakes - you're really not suppose to get crab cakes at diners because it's just never that great, and that was this case. If you're looking for a diner in Seaford and your choices are the Stargate Diner or the Seaford Eagle Diner, choose the Stargate Diner. The service is great, the food is great, the portions are huge, and the prices are about the same as Eagle Diner. I came here for a late breakfast with my in-laws. We had a party of 6, including a baby, and they sat us in the very spacious, clean, and well lit banquet room in the back. The server was very friendly and helpful, constantly refilling our coffee and water, and checking on us frequently. Like most diners, the menu is huge and you can get anything you want. Breakfast is 24 hours a day. I ordered the shortstack or pancakes which includes 2 huge pancakes, eggs, and bacon all for $6!! The prices are truly amazing and the food was cooked perfectly. This is easily the worst experience I have had ever. The menu is too big! There are way too many options at this place and the portion sizes are just as large. One of the servers even stated they were out of to-go boxes! The waitress I had was awful I waited almost 20 minutes for a drink refill and by that time I was just done eating the over-portioned steak I was given.
