Mahalo to our tour guide Quinn for a foodtastic tour on Sunday, 7/6/2026! We went on this shore excursion available through NCL Pride of America and we had 6 stops along the way on this food tour. Tip, do not eat a big breakfast prior to going on this tour and make sure to use the restroom stops which there were only 2; at Tante's and Maui Brewing Company. Food is shared and samples, so make sure you alert the tour guide of any food allergies. Quinn provided hand sanitizer, cold water bottles, utensils, and napkins as well as our shuttle van was a Mercedes Benz. He was very knowledgeable of the island of Maui, even telling us stories of volcanoes and the origin of the Shaka. He was also very accommodating to my father who requires assistance with his walker. I would not recommend booking with Stardust Hawaii, LLC. The tour experience was disappointing due to poor communication and misleading information. Prior to booking, I specifically asked if the tour was fully operational and was assured that it was, with only one stop being eliminated. This turned out to be inaccurate. We were not informed ahead of time that multiple key parts of the tour would be canceled. Instead, we only found out after we were already on the bus, and at that point, we were not given the option to cancel or make an informed decision. Several advertised stops were not included, and no proper substitutions were provided. Despite this, when we followed up with the company, they claimed we were taken to a red sand beach -- which is simply not true. This kind of inaccurate response only added to the frustration. We politely requested a partial refund due to the changes and lack of transparency, but this was denied. Customer service was poor and not understanding, especially considering the $250 per person spent on this tour. Overall, the issue is not the tour guide, but the company's lack of honesty, communication, and accountability. I would strongly advise others to reconsider before booking. read more

Just finished the Road to Hana tour with Quinn and it was a great time. He had everything: - great stories and knowledge drops including history, plants, geology, culture, language and even more - plenty of snacks and ice cold water - punctual and efficient without feeling rushed - great recommendations - friendly and a wholesome attitude - fantastic driving I would definitely recommend his tour for anyone who wants to see all of Maui in under a day. read more

Darren was an awesome "Pirate guide" to lead us, my 5-year-old son, and another family with their 6-year-old boy, on a real Maui Treasure Hunt!!! We met at a park-&-ride at about 9am, then he drove us 30 minutes up the mountain to our hiking spot. We were provided with small weatherproof backpacks that had water and snacks inside, and where we could keep some of our own personal items as well. He informed the two boys about the importance of safety on the hike, and how he had found a long lost map that lead to hidden treasure! They had to search for clues along the way, so we knew we were on the right path. There was walking through rocky rivers, climbing up narrow muddy paths, and we even got rained on for a few minutes! But ultimately, the map DID lead us to hidden treasure! The 2 boys got to split all the goodies found inside. From rare gems, to golden coins and nuggets, rings, compasses, spy glass, hard candy, and even pirate bags to put them in! He had a blast, and I love listening to him retell his adventure to other people! I would highly recommend it to a family with kids his age. read more

(Review written while COVID regulations in place.) We booked through a third party company, Viator, so this review is for Viator and Stardust.) The tour guide and company's communication of expectations can definitely make or break your Road to Hana trip and that all broke it for me. I've never been on the Road to Hana before and everyone said it's a must! I still do believe it's a must. I hope to do it again someday but just not with Stardust and I'll try to learn more about the tour guide if possible. The actual Road to Hana is well worth 5 stars, so I hope you can experience it someday! Company: The description of the tour on Viator's website stated the tour included breakfast and an authentic Hawaiian lunch. Breakfast was store bought poppyseed and chocolate bread. The lunch was store bought sandwiches and small bags of chips (Lays, Fritos, Doritos, Cheetos). Thankfully we did get to experience Maui Gold pineapple which may have been the best tasting pineapple I've ever had! The website's description also stated we would have 8 total stops. A "stop" means you get out of the vehicle and have the option to walk around and take pics, etc. We only "stopped" 6 times and one of those was primarily a bathroom stop with a scenic view. Each stop seemed extremely short including the one with the black sand beach (which is actually listed as two separate stops on Viator's website explanation but in all reality it was only one stop.) the first stop we took was supposed to be at a popular surfing beach, but it was the breakfast stop and bathroom break and we only had 10-15 minutes to stop there. By the time we got food and used the bathroom, we hardly had time to take pictures and no time to go down to the beach. Tour Guide: Sadly, I don't even remember his name. That may be saying something. :/ Less than desirable personality. Knowledgeable of Maui island history. Struggled to engage with people on the trip. Other than sharing random history facts, he was quiet otherwise. Even though it's Hawaii regulation, he did not require those who were vaccinated to be masked while in the van. He did communicate the reason why some of the stops had to be short was because of the reservation at one of the stops. I appreciated that. At one point, he said we were ahead of schedule and he doesn't do this for every group so we were gonna stop by the red sand beach. Two things: 1) The red sand beach was supposed to be a stop according to Viator's website so it didn't feel "special" to stop. 2) We didn't actually stop. We drove by. In general, he seemed more concerned about people getting back "before their dinner reservations" than actually helping us enjoy taking some time to really enjoy the stops. If you're taking a long day trip that costs around $200, you should expect to have it last all day maybe even up to dinner time. Constructive feedback: 1) Make sure Viator's website is updated to reflect accurate information about the expectation of the trip (lunch, number of stops, etc.) 2) Hire or work to develop your tour guides to be fun, engaging, and knowledgeable not just knowledgeable. Spending 7+ hours with people in a small compact area, I give props to tour guides who can make you feel like a family coming out of it. read more

We went on the Authentic Taste of Maui tour the day after we arrived in Maii. Darren, our tour guide, was professional and likeable from the very beginning, calling to let us know he was on his way, in a luxury Mercedes van. He designed the tour himself, taking us and 10 others, to local spots only. We had everything from Malasadas (Portuguese donuts) to Poke; all fresh from local "Mom and Pop" places totalling 7 stops and 17 flavors of Hawaii. And it didn't stop there. Darren shared history, pointing out historical landmarks, with stories of early years in Hawaii and his "pidgeon" dialect made us feel like welcome and how it must have been back in the day. He has a rapport with every business we went to, often calling the owners, Aunty and Uncle or Cousin. He explained everything clearly so we would know what to expect. He has infectious personality that encourages you to ask him anything. It was a wonderful experience! read more

We did a Hana tour this past week. I would say it was "just ok". Going in the waterfall was great, but the communication during the driving sections was lacking in some ways. Additionally, adding just a little more time at each stop would have been really nice. I wish we had checked the viator reviews, as the company's management also seems to respond poorly to criticism online. read more

I booked three tours through Viator. One of the activities was just as promised, but the other two were not. One of the activities they resolved for me, but the second one they did not. We had an activity that not not what had been promised and they contacted the provider and the provider said since we had gone on the tour, even though it was not as promised, they would not resolve the issue. Viator accepted this and said they would give me a $25 credit for a future activity (my activity was $655 that was not what was promised). So if the activity doesn't immediately agree to resolve the issue, Viator doesn't either. I will not use this company again. read more

Do not use these people for hana they lie. We set up a tour for July 1st using Expedia. The travel voucher says they pick up at major hotels in kihei. We don't have a rental because of the rental shortage. We called for our pick up and Andrea told us "we don't do that any more." We don't have a rental car and the 10 bus toward the pick up spot doesn't depart till 6:30. When the pick up is 6:40 and 20 minutes away by bus. She told us we'd have to uber. She expects us to shell out $30 more on top of the $437.50 + gratuity. After they directly lied. Update your information and stop lieing to customers. read more

I booked this hike, fearing I would feel "ripped off," but that didn't happen at all. While a hundred bucks a person is exorbitant, both my grandson and I had a great time! The hike itself is through very unique biomes, which I would not have discovered by myself. And Mark, the pirate captain, taught us useful and interesting things, like bird calls with a blade of grass. The kids had a blast finding the clues and learning how to read a map. Unfortunately had a bad experience with the Maui Treasure Hunt. Despite having a confirmed reservation, we showed up on the morning of the Treasure Hunt to learn that there was no Treasure Hunt scheduled that day or even that time of year in the Lahaina area. No one there seemed to know what was going on, adding to the confusion. This of course was very disappointing to our 5-year old who we had hyped up for the treasure hunt. I called Andrea to sort this out, and I asked for a refund of the cost ($300+) and also compensation for the taxi we took to arrive at the stated departure point (we did not rent a car) since this was clearly a mistake on their end. I was told that this was not possible, and in general was met with an attitude of trying to deflect blame and not take responsibility for the inconvenience and disappointment they caused. I asked to escalate this case to someone who could authorize this and was told I would get a call back from the owners. This never happened. Instead I got a phone call from Andrea a few days later that I could be booked onto a tour on a separate day (which was on a different part of the island). I had to reiterate that I wanted a refund and that I'm still waiting on a call from the owners to discuss compensation for the mistake they made which I was again told would happen. I never got that phone call (it has now been almost 2 weeks) though it appears the refund of what we paid was processed a few days later. I hope that this review serves as a message to the business that many customers are trusting their vacation time and a significant chunk of money for a fun, memorable experience. If this trust is breached, as it was in our case where we lost time, money, and gained an unpleasant memory, then the business should take responsibility for their mistake and own up to it to make it right. My kids and I had a great time on the jungle treasure hunt with Mark. He had a lot of knowledge about the park, and took us into an area of the park we probably wouldn't have found on our own. The kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt style hike, and loved the river. read more

This was the best activity we did while on the island! We did the 2 hour segway tour of Lahaina. We wish we would have book an all day tour instead as 2 hours is simply not enough time as it was so fun! We had never used a segway and I had a total knee replacement 3 months ago so was concerned about safety. Our guide JOHN was so AMAZING and really made the tour special. We did a private tour with just my husband and myself. John took the time to ensure we were properly trained on the segway and didn't leave the parking lot until we all felt comfortable. Safety was clearly his top concern with me. He was so considerate to ensure we stopped frequently to rest my knee, he helped me on an off the segway to ensure I was safe. We really wished we would have done this tour on the first day of being on the island as John's knowledge of the island, food spots that were exclusive to locals, and his ability to tell the story of Maui was better than any guide book could of been. John's personality was amazing, he was not only able to ensure safety, knowledge of the island but his ability to clearly live the Aloha spirit was awesome! The segways were a blast but John is what really made this experience the best for us! Person's of any age that can stand would enjoy this tour and is a great option for those that can't walk long distance that wants to experience Lahaina! It was our first vacation on Maui. As a family we love doing things together. It's not always possible since our kids are not old enough to participate in many activities. When I saw the Treasure Hunt Hiking tour on Stardust Hawaii's website, I got super excited and booked it. Our son is 7 and he is totally into pirates, treasures and secret maps! Our daughter is 5 and she can do whatever her brother does. We had a fantastic time together. The whole experience was great, we spent a beautiful day outdoors with our guide Phil. He had excellent knowledge of the area, and made it super exciting for our kids. The hike took place in a beautiful forest with waterfalls where we all got to swim. The kids followed a secret map, which led them to a treasure. On the hike we were asked to fulfill tasks and answer riddles. It kept our children entertained and in eager anticipation of what will come next. We had a fantastic time together as a family! I strongly recommend this tour to all families with children! read more
