Came to Maui on the cruise ship Pride of America. Maui is the first stop. Always heard the Road to Hana is a must see, so we booked the excursion. Our tour was excellent. Not only for the scenery, but our driver "Surfer Sue". Sue was friendly, fun and quite knowledgeable telling us all sorts of interesting things about the road and Maui itself. I took an excursion from The Pride of America cruise ship called Road to Hana Deluxe with Temptation Tours. Our driver and guide was a gentleman named Ray who informed us it was his last day as he was moving to Oregon after being in Hawaii a number of years. The drive was tough as there were lots of sharp turns on the winding path. Ray did his best to minimize the impact which was much appreciated. Besides taking us to waterfalls, a black sand beach, a lava tube, etc., he did such a nice job explaining Hawaiian culture and history to us. He also took us to a place with excellent banana bread and another place with the best shaved ice I think I have ever had. I would definitely recommend Temptation Tours, although it is a shame that Ray won't be available for any future tours. read more

My family of 5 (my wife, 14yo, 12yo, 6yo and myself) did the tour to Hāna with Steve as our guide. It was a a good experience. Steve while navigating the road to Hana taught us about trees, history, as well as where to take the best picture spots. He even offered to take our picture. Breakfast and lunch was awesome too. HUGE HIGHLIGHT of my trip to Maui. I really wanted to swim under a waterfall and a friend had recommended a helicopter tour... So Temptation Tour's Road to Hana Sky Trek was the perfect combination + SO much more! Scott was our tour guide for the van portion of the day. Scott's enthusiasm, careful driving, and willingness to take photos was so appreciated. He was easy to talk to and shared great info, while navigating the (very tricky) road to Hana with ease. I cannot imagine driving this, invaluable to have an expert driver. The stop at the waterfall exceeded my expectations, and the last stop swimming at the black sands beach was also magical. I recommend bringing water shoes (i picked up a pair for $20 the day before and was so glad I did to navigate the rocks and water easily). The banana bread stop was DELICIOUS -- I highly recommend the banana bread ice cream sundae -- still dreaming about it!! The helicopter ride was magical, Chris was so relaxed and put us all at ease. The views were stunning and I was surprised to feel so good since this was my first helicopter ride. Originally I thought 35 minutes seemed short for the helicopter ride, but really it was just perfect, I loved every second but also felt ready to land when we did. I did the morning tour, 6:45am arrival felt early but boy was it worth it! I was so glad we got to visit the spots when they were less crowded. The tour group size was wonderful - only 5 people + Scott. Thank you Scott, Chris and Temptation Tours. I'll recommend this adventure for anyone going to Maui, it was worth every penny. read more

I did the Ultimate Road to Hana tour with Temptation Tours, and it was an incredible experience, made even better by our tour guide, Genaro Padilla. Genaro was outstanding. He's incredibly knowledgeable about Maui, from the island's history to the rainforest, wildlife, plants, trees, and fruits we saw along the way. We were constantly learning as we drove, which made the experience feel rich and meaningful rather than just a scenic drive. The Road to Hana can be intimidating, but Genaro made it feel effortless. His driving was calm, smooth, and confident, and we felt completely safe the entire time getting there and back. He knew exactly where to stop, paced the day perfectly, and took us to some truly stunning spots. It rained most of the day for us, which is just part of being in the rainforest, but it didn't take away from the experience at all. Genaro kept the energy positive, fun, and engaging throughout the long day. He's very personable and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with. One thing I really appreciated was that he kept saying, "this is your tour." He made sure we stopped at places that mattered to us. I really wanted to go to Aunt Sandy's for banana bread, and Genaro made it happen. That level of flexibility and care made the day feel personal. Between the incredible views, the education along the way, the safe and comfortable drive, and Genaro's personality, this was one of the highlights of my time in Maui. This is the first Hāna tour I have been on and it was definitely a great experience. Even as a local who was born and raised here on the island and I actually live along the road to Hāna. The first leg is a helicopter that leaves out of Kahului heliport. Then you fly out to Hāna where you are met at the Hana Airport by a very nice van with all captain chairs. The pilot of the flight was great he was very entertaining and very knowledgeable. The type van driver was also very knowledgeable and entertaining. After we landed we were taken over to Wai'anapanapa State Park where we were served lunch. Which was included with the tour. Then we spent about an hour at the park. After this we headed back towards Kahului. We made several stops along the way. Our driver was great and knew the road very well. I would definitely recommend this tour versus driving the road. For one you get to see places that you would never see from a car, plus you don't have the stress of driving crowded and very small and narrow roads. I highly recommend the tour. read more

We went on the Hana Sky Trek tour with our wonderful guide, Scott! Scott is friendly and knowledgeable. He told us all about the road to Hana plus Hawaii state history and about the people and culture. He offered to take pictures of each couple in our group and he showed us new photo tricks with our phones that we didn't know! The photos turned out great. This is the best way to see Hana. The drive out to the town of Hana was great and then we took a helicopter ride back. Derek our pilot was great, too. He told us all about the terrain we were flying over and about the island. I would highly recommend this trip and Scott as the tour guide. read more

Randy was our guide on the Road to Hāna tour last week and I cannot say enough great things about him and this trip! He was courteous, knowledgeable, entertaining and incredibly accommodating. The luxury van was comfortable and Randy made sure we had everything we needed from snacks and drinks and even ginger candies for those of us who got a little green around the gills on the curvy roads. As a resident of Hāna, I feel compelled to speak out against the way this bus tour company treats our community. On September 22, 2025, during a private monthly gathering of our village elders at the Hāna Bay Pavilion, one of their drivers, Paul, barged in without greeting or asking permission and started setting up lunch tables for tourists right next to our meeting. When he was kindly asked to stop, he arrogantly refused and insisted on staying, showing zero respect for our kupuna (elders) or our community. Such behavior is unacceptable. Any company that allows its drivers to act with such ignorance and arrogance toward the people of Hāna should be avoided. If you care about respecting local culture and community, do not book with this company. Do not support such behavior. read more

Beautiful trip. I must admit I was a little nervous driving the road to Hana on my own, and signed up for the Temptation tour. We had an excellent tour guide, Gail who drove us in comfort in a luxury van. She stopped at several scenic spots, my favorite was the Black Sand beach. Here we had the option of swimming in the ocean or hiking. This place was breathtaking. Gail gave us a lot of information about the local plants and a Hawaii history lesson. If you're even thinking about doing Road to Hana this is the way to do it. Having an experienced driver made the trip extremely comfortable. Scott was our guide and he was phenomenal! He was extremely knowledgeable, knew Hawaiian culture & history beyond what's in the tour guide textbook, and made the trip super fun for our entire group. My wife and I did the Sky Trek tour (combo of helicopter tour and drive to/from Hana from OGG airport) with Derek (sp?) as our pilot and Scott Ferguson as our driver and it was an all around phenomenal experience! The views and sights that can only be seen from the helicopter were amazing and Scott's knowledge of the history and best sights along the Road to Hana and expert photography skills made for unbelievable pictures and videos. He even made a slow motion video of me jumping off of a 30ft waterfall. He's also a former chef at Mama's Fish House so he knows all of the best dining spots in that area and some tricks of the trade for getting into popular spots. Hands down the best tour guide I've ever had - be sure to request him when you book your tour. And the best part, this combo tour is only ~$125 more than the road-only tour (which takes about 10 hours to complete versus a 5 hour outing with the chopper). read more

If you're going to be in Maui, you cannot miss this experience. It is the perfect way to take in the island's natural beauty without stress and with experts leading the way. The road to Hana is amazing in and of itself but if you can do do it without having to drive yourself and not needing to figure out all the best places to stop along the way ahead of time, it is pure perfection. My husband and I visited Maui for our honeymoon and drove the road to Hana, experienced it all and also did a separate day's helicopter tour back in the day. This time with our kids, 10 and almost 12, we let Scott take the lead and show us the way. He knew exactly when there would be a perfect picture opportunity. He even took the family pics for us! He also guided us into the natural springs and told my kids where to climb for an amazing 30-ft waterfall jump. (Scott also took the perfect slow mo videos and family shots while we were enjoying the water and experience). Scott was friendly with the locals and knew exactly how to maneuver to get us to the black sand beach with plenty of time to enjoy the surf and sites. A beautiful lunch in Hana, as provided by Temptation Tours was the perfect break before meeting Blue Sky Hawaiian helicopters for the breathtaking ride above Maui and its unbelievable natural wonders as we headed back to Kahului by air. We booked the Road to Hana tour for our party of 7 whilst we were on a cruise of the Islands and were not disappointed. It was a fantastic day out and enabled us to both see some of the island and its beaty spots but also learn about the island, its history and its culture. The minibus was comfortable, modern and we had the pleasure of having Paul as our guide who was very knowledgeable and wanted to ensure that we had a great day day out. This was a pricey option but without question the highlight of our trip to Maui, even over the Lu'au which was amazing. The twists and turns were enough to make even those who enjoy roller coasters and rides slightly nauseous, but not to worry, there's ginger candy or tonic for that. We learned so much about the area, the plants and loved the number of stops along the way to take it all in. The most memorable were the number of waterfalls, colorful tree trunks and natural beauty on every turn. Breakfast and lunch are included in the 6-8 person tour which kicks off a 7am. In our experience, there were plenty of options for each diet and having someone to do the driving for us was preferable despite being adventurous generally speaking. If you're looking to book, I'd suggest doing so directly through their website at a slightly lower price. read more
