We also saw spinner dolphins. So cool! We got to go snorkeling in two different locations and both were beautiful. At the first location the coral was beautiful and we saw TONS of fish! The ride up is fun with a quick visit to the National Park included to see the crater firsthand, followed by some fun pictures jumping out of the clouds! Ride with Kimo to learn how they get those pictures! The ride itself starts just outside the National Park (limited by newer regulations limiting tour rides in the park itself) to enjoy the switchbacks - a video is included below! Those turns are not difficult - so don't let that part dissuade you from taking the tour. Stop at the town of Makawao for lunch (Freshies had a good menu) and ride like bandits back to the shop as the lag van holds traffic back a bit to clear the roadway for you! The island is open for business, save some small parts around Lahaina itself still recovering from the devastating fires of 2023, with limited impact elsewhere on the island. Take this trip now while the crowds are a bit lighter too, you won't regret it at all as Maui is just beautiful! Ka'anapala just north of Lahaina is hopping!

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING…read more 1 Star - A Completely Different Experience Than What We Paid For Yesterday was my fourth time doing the Haleakalā sunrise self-guided bike excursion, and unfortunately, it was by far the most disappointing. My first ride was over 20 years ago, when we could bike all the way down from the crater without helmets and stop for breakfast at a charming café along the way. It was a gorgeous ride and an unforgettable experience. In 2017 and again in 2021, we were still able to enjoy a long downhill ride, starting outside the park and stopping at the same café. Yesterday, we brought our kids, now in their 20s, to experience it for the first time. What a disappointment. Instead of biking down the mountain, we spent roughly 90% of the excursion riding in a van and only biked about four miles. The tour guide was great, but we didn't pay over $1,400 for five people to sit in a shuttle and listen to a narrated tour. We paid for a self-guided downhill bike excursion. This is a completely different product from what we experienced on our previous visits. If the tour has changed this dramatically, customers should be clearly informed before booking and paying such an outrageous price. Do your research before booking. If you're expecting the classic downhill bike ride, as we were, you may be very disappointed. This was absolutely not the experience we paid for.

We had the BEST time on the Sea Maui Sunset Cocktail Cruise! From the very beginning, the experience was wonderful. We called to book and spoke with Sunshine, who was exactly that -- an absolute ray of sunshine! She was so sweet, incredibly helpful, communicated everything clearly, and genuinely made us even more excited for the experience. When it was time to board, it was immediately clear that the crew knew exactly what they were doing. We visited during "hurricane" season, so the swells were definitely LARGE -- but that didn't stop us from having the time of our lives! Great music, amazing staff, fun fellow cruisers, drinks flowing, delicious food, and the most incredible Maui sunset. The vibes were absolutely immaculate from start to finish. Somewhere along the way, I also became the unofficial, official iPhone-ographer of the boat and ended up taking photos for sooo many people! One of my favorite things about the cruise was the crowd -- it was truly all ages, and ALL ages were awesome and an absolute pleasure to party with. We met so many genuinely nice people, including a group we clicked with so well that we decided to keep the night going afterward and ended up hanging out and doing karaoke together! That probably says everything you need to know about the fun, friendly, social atmosphere Sea Maui creates. The bike ride took about 2 hours for me and my friends to complete-- I'm sure you could finish in less time than that. We stopped multiple times to take photos and use the restroom.
