    Molokai

I wanted to take my mom for an open door helicopter tour of West Maui and Molokai with cliff side landing and found this company from a YouTube vide. I've actually noticed them on Instagram a couple of times as well. After doing more research, decided they were the perfect choice for what I was looking for. On the morning of our scheduled flight (7:30am), it was quite gloomy with a few showers, very windy as well so the pilot didn't think it was safe to fly. We were super sad to hear about that, especially since they were all booked up until the end of the month!! I still insisted to give us a call in case of last minute cancellations, which is rare, and kept our fingers crossed. Well lo and behold, we were enjoying breakfast back in our hotel when I receive a text from them around 10am saying they had a last minute cancellation, and if we wanted to come back for a noon flight. HECK YES!! Only thing is we wouldn't have time for the cliffside landing, which was a bummer. It's like God made it happen! The weather changed dramatically, no clouds, super sunny, and our pilot Nick was super informative and made us feel comfortable. We had such a good time, especially my mom who was nervous about the doors off, but ended up loving the tour! It gets very windy though, and you're not allowed to put your hands or legs outside the helicopter, or any cameras/gopros/phones for that matter. They do provide free lanyards for your phone. Would highly recommend this company! Communication was great through text and they really tried to make sure we were able to fly!

The 21st of March was our last day in Hawaii and we wanted to finish it off with something exciting so we booked a Molokai Cliffs and Waterfalls doors off tour with Pacific Helicopter Tours and I'm so glad we did! Kamille was our host on the ground and went through the check-in and safety briefing where you get outfitted with a sweet fanny pack life vest and offered us coffee or various other drinks. We then got escorted to the helipad where Sam was waiting for us to jump in. Now I've never been in a helicopter before let alone a "doors off" tour so I kinda assumed it would be super bumpy and a little scary seeing how there's no doors. Nope...I was wrong, its was super comfortable (heater works good for the chilly morning), not bumpy at all, and I've felt more at risk in a Jeep with no doors than the helicopter with no doors but that could just be how amazing Sam was as a pilot! SAM. WAS. AMAZING! Seriously when I come back to Maui I will ask for Sam to be my pilot again. Any time she saw a whale or went into a valley near a waterfall she would spin the helicopter so both passengers had the chance to get photos. She explained different features of what we were seeing and some history of Hawaii. Thanks again Sam! So you might be thinking $325 is a bit expensive. For the experience, views, customer service, and all the amazing photos you'll take its really not. Skip the zip line, skip the fancy dinner, and skip the car rental upgrade and spend the money on this tour!

THE. BEST. E. V. E. R. Matt was our pilot. We originally booked the east Maui island tour, but he explained how there is much better places to look at in the West Maui, and also Molokai island and no additional charge. And he took us to all of the cool spots, including worlds tallest waterfall, and the Iao Valley water fall valleys. We flew very close into the valleys and we were just amazed.

First time flying in a helicopter but had an amazing time. Pilot was very friendly and knowledgeable about the islands and learned a lot of history. This tour is a doors off tour which made it a lot more exciting and able to take better pictures and look down into the ocean where we saw a few schools of humpback whales Definitely would recommend to take this tour because everyone was friendly and knowledgeable about everything. I'm not a huge fan of heights but this was doable for sure. Had my moments where I was terrified but it was definitely ok. Next time I visit Maui I want to do it again! Thanks Pacific Helicopters

We did the Molokai and West Maui tour with Pacific Heli Tours and it was amazing! I will be honest, this is not a cheap activity, but really if you are going to do an helicopter ride, where better than Hawai'i? Don't skip it and go with Pacific Heli Tour. Kasey, who handles booking is super nice. We were booked for Friday after hurricane Erick and the weather was . Even if the helicopter could take off, they moved us to Sunday so we could have nice weather. Matt, our pilot, was super nice, chill, experimented and brought us close to everything. He's been doing that for 20 years, 18 in Hawai'i, he knows his stuff. Honestly, one of the highlights of our vacation! Do it! Live a little, you deserve it! NOTE: Pictures don't do justice of what you'll see but I mostly made videos and have a limited numbers of pictures to chose from.

Book a flight with this company! If you are planning a helicopter tour in Maui, this is the way to go. Casey the manager was friendly and hospitable and Brandon our pilot was super cool and an amazing tour guide. My girlfriend and I booked the Molokai & West Maui Waterfalls tour + a separate landing (which I highly recommend) and having a helicopter with no doors made taking photos and video SO much easier and it immerses you in the whole experience. I look forward to flying with you guys again on the next trip!

The best off door helicopter ride ever! Found out about this place on a video of a couple on YouTube that toured Maui and we do not regret it! A wonderful staff and an excellent pilot to make everybody feel relaxed and comfortable. Nick was amazing and so relaxed which made us all feel at home! The private off door helicopter ride was fantastic! I suffer from severe motion sickness and did not get sick at all! The views were outstanding! Nick was super Informative which is something we appreciate and always make sure we were OK and enjoying the ride! This is something in our 16-year-old will never forget! Nor will we! Highly recommended over any other helicopter tour company in Maui!

What an unreal experience for my wife and I on our honeymoon. Booked this heli tour for the doors off/more one on one experience and although expensive, it was worth every penny. Jāna helped us with the check-in/safety briefing, answered all our questions and was very friendly - she's amazing! Nick was our pilot who was exceptional and is a master at what he does with over 20,000 flight hours. He was extremely knowledgeable about the island, very passionate about his career and very personable! I knew I made the right decision as I was buckling into my seat and seeing all the other heli tour guests staring at us as they crammed 6 people in their doors on heli's. If you like a first class/one on one experience in a doors off helicopter, this is the tour for you! I HIGHLY recommend it and will be back!

Fell in love with my first time riding in a helicopter with Pacific Helicopter Tours. Kamile who worked to assist us in booking, safety informational, and replying quick was very professional & polite. Nick was our pilot & he was awesome! From his conversation, expertise & handing me the air sick bag when I felt like (but didn't) vomit. Tip * time your Dramamine intake a little better. Lol. Overall I'd definitely recommend as I am taking time to write this. Don't forget to tip them! :)

Absolutely wonderful morning with our pilot, Joe. Pacific Helicopters were professional with an eye for safety, a smooth ride and great information about all we were seeing. Joe even made sure both seats had a chance to see the sights unobstructed so we could take photos and see exactly what he was describing in his narrative. When we saw the whale he circled back to see if it rose again without hovering or bothering the majestic animal. This is a fabulous way to see Maui and Molokai, the cliffs and the waterfalls. Highly recommend Pacific Helicopters.

Absolutely the best experience we have had in a long time. Nick our pilot was great. The attention ton safety was top Notch and the complete views were the best. No middle seats!!!! Every one a window Seat what could be better. As soon as we checked in everything was handled professionally Photos included we even saw some whales. Nick has a great feel for thé islands their history geology geography weather patterns and fun facts like who Purchased Lanai. So if you have not planned a ride in the sky book Pacific Helicopter today. Don't listen to your hotel who will try to say they left the island. They did not but they don't give kick backs or tips to be pushed. Direct bookings !

This will go down as my favorite thing to do in Maui, and something I will highly recommend to anyone I know coming here! Our pilot was Sam and she was super cool and informative. We got to check out Moloka'i and the views were unreal! If you are interested in a helicopter tour, go with this one and you won't be disappointed!

We had an amazing time! This was the first time for us to ride a helicopter, but it was worth every dollar. The pilot was very friendly and took us to see lots cool things because the weather was so nice. The helicopter is also nice and small so we got a good view, and the doors-off allows you to see all the way down to the bottom. Here as some photos, but they really cannot do it justice.

The 3 other people did not show so we got a private tour with our pilot Josh. Josh was safe, informative, and made my wife feel at ease for her first time! Josh took us through canyons for awesome waterfalls, over the coral reef, and whale watching on our way back. By far worth every penny! When we returned the staff was very helpful and we learned of a new breakfast place called Baked on Maui. It was off the beaten path and a perfect recommendation. Our 11:00 AM departure was aboard an EC-130, configured for four passengers plus one additional pilot from Maverick who was aboard purely as an observer to gain route familiarization. Reassuringly, he remained a passenger throughout--no hands on the controls, just enjoying the view like the rest of us. The ground crew delivered impeccable service: warm welcomes, streamlined procedures, and not a single indication that we were about to star in an unsolicited adventure film. For my wife, this marked her very first helicopter flight. She admitted to pre-flight nerves substantial enough to generate renewable energy. I, of course, congratulated myself on arranging this exhilarating vertical ascent. Fortunately, the moment we lifted off and the earth receded gracefully, her anxiety evaporated, giving way to unfiltered astonishment. The 75-minute flight enjoyed weather so flawless it seemed custom-ordered. Our pilot, Ethan--undisputed champion of the day and recipient of our profound gratitude--navigated us over Maui, Molokai, and Lanai with the serene authority of someone who unmistakably knew exactly what he was doing. We began with panoramic sweeps of West Maui and Kapalua, then crossed the Pailolo Channel for an intimate view of Elephant Rock--a geological formation resembling an elephant that clearly lost an argument with erosion. Circling Molokai, we admired the world's tallest sea cliffs (surpassing most personal regrets in height), ancient Hawaiian fish ponds, and the longest continuous fringing reef in the United States--nature flexing every possible asset. Next, we proceeded to Lanai's north shore and the aptly named Shipwreck Beach, featuring its photogenic WWII shipwreck that has been picturesquely deteriorating since 1944. Consider it the ocean's original unfinished project. The return over Maui--the Valley Isle--offered enchanting aerial perspectives of historic Lahaina, immaculate beaches, and verdant valleys. The finale routed us through the rugged West Maui Mountains: razor-sharp ridges capable of slicing envelopes, precipitous drops prompting existential reflection, concealed waterfalls engaged in eternal hide-and-seek, and the iconic Iao Valley resembling Mother Nature's grand cathedral. In a delightful cinematic twist, parts of this very West Maui mountain region--including remote valleys and waterfalls accessible only by air--served as stand-in shots for the helicopter approach sequence in Steven Spielberg's original Jurassic Park (1993). Due to a hurricane disrupting primary filming on Kauai, the production captured these lush, misty valleys on Maui to evoke the prehistoric wonder of Isla Nublar. Flying low through the hidden canyons felt uncannily like recreating that iconic arrival--minus the dinosaurs, thankfully, though Ilona half-expected a T-Rex to poke its head out from behind a ridge. The experience was breathtaking; the immense scale and beauty of Hawaii from above left us nearly speechless. Nearly--Ilona still produced a few delighted exclamations once assured we would not become the day's impromptu attraction. 5 "Keopuka Rock (Jurassic Rock) on Maui, featured in the original Jurassic Park helicopter scenes." Following a flawless landing (no theatrics or spontaneous applause required), we expressed heartfelt thanks to the crew, captured the mandatory "we survived" photographs, and departed buoyed by adrenaline and a touch of lingering dizziness. Thanks Team Maverick for a wonderful experience.

The female half was a pilot. While talking she recommended to us that we should take a sunset flight over Maui with her old boss at Maui Plane Rides. She said it was truly a life changing experience. Well, that was enough for us, we booked one and embarked on our journey a few days later. We arrived to the small airport and met our pilot, Eric was his name maybe? He was originally from New York and was a very friendly fellow. He did his pre flight checks and we loaded into the plane and away we went. The pilot flew us all over the island and he was a very informative with his knowledge of the island and local history. The flight path he took was truly EPIC! He let my wife fly the plane for about 5 minutes, which was super cool of him. The flight was absolutely a must do if you have the opportunity and the funds. You will never see a sunset quite like the sunset over Maui from a plane. It was the most beautiful sunset ever. And I have seen many sunsets in many locales.
