I'm not sure if it was because we got there around 12, or if they just don't have other pastries regularly. It was also a lot more expensive than other coffee shops in the area. As a message too all business owners out there, you have 1 shot to impress or completely turn off potential customers. Another message to business owners, up sells make up for a large portion of income for many businesses so when your employees fail to do so you lose money. Not too sweet and full of flavor. Some of the pearls did get stuck together (they were served hot after all), but it was no problem.
