I'd like to start with the positive about this location. There is a very nice worker who takes orders behind the counter. I don't know her name, but she is always so pleasant and kind and makes any visit worthwhile just for her genuine sweetness. She deserves special recognition. Now for the unfortunate part about my experience. I ordered a London Fog Latte. The lovely woman behind the counter took my order down correctly. I can tell by the label. The baristas, however, did not prepare my beverage correctly. There was nothing remotely latte-ish about my London Fog Latte. It was a large Earl Grey tea with some milk and vanilla syrup thrown in. What happened to the steamed milk? You don't have to be a barista to know a latte is made with steamed milk. It's not like they were doing a booming business, even with the drive-thru closed and it being a bit after lunchtime. $6.00 + gratuity for a tea latte that's not even a latte? (Never again, I say.) I'd really like to give one star but I'm giving two just because of the kind worker behind the counter. read more

If I could give zero stars I would but Yelp doesn't allow that. There were 9 people working behind the counter today (with 4 doing basically nothing) and over 30 people waiting for drinks plus a drive thru line out to the street. The average wait time for a drink was 34 minutes. I ordered via the app and it said pick up at 11:55 my drink was not ready until 12:28. The gals behind the counter would reply to everyone asking why it was taking so long was "look everyone else's is also taking forever so it's not just yours" My favorite was the guy who waited 40 minutes for a cold brew when all they had to do was pour it into a cup, plain black nothing added. I will put in an order through the app on my way to work, 1 or two simple drinks usually, and my order is never ready when I get there. Not sure why this location gets such a bad rap. Well, maybe I do but 2 star average is harsh. On this visit we were greeted very nicely and walked through some selections which are harder to make these days unless you order the same thing every time because they barely have a listed menu any more! Eating Keto-friendly these days so limited choices here but the new sous vide eggs are a favorite of mine anyway and as friendly to low carb as you're going to get here. We enjoyed those along with a sugar free strawberry infused green iced tea. The young lady barista was excellent and very friendly. This location is constantly busy and it can get a bit raucous in there, mainly behind the counter. Things were fairly calm today. read more

As one of the few Starbucks locations in the New Haven area, I've been really pleased with this one and its ability to handle all the traffic it gets on a daily basis. Every time I've been here, the employees have been friendly and professional. When they run out of oat milk, they always politely think of an alternative or something else on the menu I might like. On weekends, especially Saturday mornings, it does get very busy in there, but they handle it the best they can. Technically, I live closer to another location but I actually prefer to go out of my way to visit this one. Perhaps the absolute worst starbucks on the planet. They do not even try to get your order right. When you complain that your order is incorrect, they give you an attitude about making it properly. Everybody comes here for coffee but the deli stuff is really god. I had the sandwich in the checkin photo and it was fresh and very tasty. Also the breakfast sanwhiches are barely more expensive than an egg mcmuffin but much much better. The drive thru is super convenient and I can get my sandwich on ciabatta and my cup of Joe in no time flat. I always love stopping off at this Starbucks on my way up to Maine. It's right off of 15 so it's super easy to get on an off of the highway. I always know that I'm getting close when I see the infamous (Heros) tunnel. They do have a drive-thru for those in a hurry, but the inside offers plenty of seating and a nice ambiance if you want to stay a while. If I lived closer, I'd totally spend countless hours studying there. The building is really cute too. This Starbucks is one of the many I love. The cute little house turned coffee shop is fun and interesting. The staff here is incredibly efficient, has a bit more turn over, but overall performs well despite the massive lines that form here both inside and in the drive through. The seating area is minimal and is confined to a corner of the house and nothing more. The remainder of the space is the giant pastry case, the register and working area, then the coffee additions space, and the bathrooms. There is very little space to feel comfortable in here which is why I'm ever so thankful for a drive through. I can't imagine spending any time here to do work or meet with a client. It's just incredibly claustrophobic. Overall, not bad service, but seemingly never ending long lines. If you're in the mood for lunch if their case is empty, stop by Katz Deli. This place is just the worst- I just left for the third time this month without the drink I paid for. They just can't handle mobile orders. Not wrong, simply not made at all. I basically pay them $5 to make me late for work since I never get what I ordered. This is the only location that consistently loses mobile orders (don't worry, I'm still charged for them even though I leave empty handed). Last week, they actually made a drink, not the one I ordered, but there was at least a cup and lid when I got there... As a Starbucks location located right off of the highway, it is a high traffic location however, the staff never seems rushed or stressed. I am always amazed how the customer service at this location far exceeds others in the area. Was there for 20 min Sunday morning only two other walk in customers and three drive thru, three people working, one literally standing with nothing to do. Why not clean the tables or empty overflowing trash receptacles on patio? Ordered beverage and asked for room for dairy, but filled to top. Sat on patio, dead plants in planters, every single one!
