Although we didn't purchase any food, the environment was all we needed. It was clean and full of interactive fun for felines. I visited with three teenagers and they all begged for a return visit. We loved that these adoptable pets had a board with all of the important information regarding their health, background, etc. We definitely plan to return!

We were early for Pistachio opening across the street, so we wandered over to the Mew Haven Cat Cafe and found ourselves unexpectedly enchanted. Though we didn't go inside, the large front windows offered a perfect view into the feline lounge, where a dozen or so cats lounged, leapt, and occasionally locked eyes with us like we were the entertainment. One tabby stretched dramatically across a sunlit perch, while a beautiful black cat gave us a slow blink that felt oddly personal. The space looked cozy and well-kept, with toys scattered across the floor and cat trees arranged like a miniature jungle gym. Even from outside, you could sense the calm, welcoming vibe. The cats had clearly claimed the room not just as their playground, but as a sanctuary. We didn't sip coffee or pet a single whisker, but the experience still lingered. There's something lovely about a place that invites connection even through a pane of glass. Next time, we'll book ahead. But for now, we're grateful for the glimpse. What a sweet cafe I don't know how you could give them less than five stars! My friends and I had a lovely time here. We checked in at the front and ordered some drinks (I got a matcha latte). I liked that there were plenty of things for sale, including a variety of cat toys and figurines. After we ordered, we went around the building through a separate entrance to meet the cats. Our drinks were ready in about 10 minutes or less, and we were really impressed by the number of cats as well as the clean space they were in. There were plenty of structures for them to hide in, sleep in, climb on, and we really enjoyed learning about each cat and their history. There are two big rooms as well as one bathroom available. You're even allowed to hold some of the cats, but just make sure you ask which ones you're allowed to hold. There's also a diagram of where each cat is comfortable being pet, which I found really helpful.

Dinner time

Everything you'd want it to be, really tasty snacks, including a great gluten-free chocolate chip cookie, and so many wonderful cats. Love the wall of cat personality profiles and friendly staff to answer questions. We've been there before this time we happen to catch dinner time which was adorable!

Was visiting my brother when I stumbled upon this cute place. I absolutely love black cats and I'm glad to see so many of them in here (there were some others too ofc). I grabbed the Ginger Cat before going in with the cats and it was definetly worth the short break from thrifting around. I only stayed for 30 min playing and admiring them since I was on a little bit of a time crunch, but if you want to grab some nice coffee and just admire cats, this is the place.

The cats range from cute and sweet to bitey and aggressive-like cats are. ‍ the door has a sharp edge that cut 1 persons finger and worst the place smells really bad, like someone forgot to change the litter boxes. For the most part the cats let you pet them but you gotta keep wits about you.

We had an amazing time hanging out with all the adorable kitties today! Thank you for having us and for everything you do to help the kitties find their forever homes. We will return!

It was wonderful spending time with all the kitties! A bunch of cutie pies. However, upon walking into the cat section you are met with a repugnant odor that hovers the entire time you're there: from full litter boxes and what I assume to be wet food remnants, etc. It's almost too overwhelming to stay. Other cat cafes have no issue with this. And although I am no vet, it was evident that some of the cats' health was concerning. Multiple cats' eyes seemed to be irritated or infected, oozing puss(?) and crusty. Two of the cats were sneezing throughout our time there. Although the woman serving us in the cafe section was very friendly, one of the staff in the cat section was very standoff-ish and was texting on her phone while giving instructions to others who arrived. Also, dinner was served to the cats during our allotted time. I think they should let people know that they'll be feeding the cats during their reserved time slot because the cats are busy (rightfully so and enjoying themselves!) for 10+ minutes. That smell was a lot too but that's probably mostly a personal thing. Two groups of people came in while they were eating, giving them less time to spend with the cats. Obviously totally fine to do this because it's dinner time--I just think patrons should be notified that that'll take up some of their time. Although it was very cute to see them all wait patiently by the door (see photo) anticipating food, we just stood there and waited. Very cute, but would've appreciated a heads up. Just know what to expect going here--it's wonderful they are helping these cats find their forever homes but the environment is not welcoming. We left after maybe 30 minutes, mostly due to the smell.

They had a great cafe. All staff were super nice and friendly. The cats are super cute. i love how they have signs on where certain cats don't wanna be touched and their different personalities. Thank you so much for this experience!

#9 in my NEW ENGLAND & NY COFFEE SHOP SERIES Can you believe New Haven has a cat cafe?! And you can adopt these little cuties too! A fantastic business that adopts kitties from different shelters from all over CT. For around $20 you can make a reservation and have play time with cats for an hour. You can also order drinks which they bring over to you in the play area. My partner and I got the Valentine's day package which came with an hour with the kitties and free drinks. I got the red velvet latte and he got the ginger cat, both of them weren't very good too be honest. But they are a good price and the theming is cute. Tip: make a reservation for earlier in the day so the kitties won't be too tired or overstimulated

I tend to swing by Thursday nights for trivia, but I've also been plenty of times during normal board game hours. This place offers plenty of fun events, in addition to a huge variety of board games. Not only that, but they offer a plentiful selection of coffees and teas, as well as frequently-changing specials that never disappoint! This recent visit, I attended trivia and I purchased a tea flight. 4 full cups of tea for a very reasonable price!! They can do any 4 flavors and ask about your preferences, so I told them I wanted to try unique/quirky teas. They did not disappoint!!! I was given 4 teas, 3 of which I purchased full supplies of immediately afterwards. Their lychee lime tea was one of my favorites--fruity with a strong and distinct lychee flavor, which was great. Chocolate chili tea was so unique, it reminded me of Mexican hot chocolate. Mountain Squall was a delicious chamomile with some minty refreshing notes, and finally, Volcanic Inferno was insanely unique and interesting! It's a strongly smoky, delicious tea that reminds me of a smoked whisky. These teas were not only delicious, but EXACTLY what I had in mind when I asked for unique teas! The cafe is so good that I'd come here for that alone--it's a bonus that there's also so many lovely games to play! There were plenty of bags of tea to purchase (I wound up snagging bags of Mountain Squall and Volcanic Inferno for home), as well as some other cute board game merchandise and snacks. The game variety is amazing. While I'm typically there for trivia, there's SO many fun game options. They also run activities pretty much every night--Thursday Trivia, Sunday Blood on the Clocktower, Sunday Dread, Friday Beginner DND, etc. There's always something to do! I love coming here and I am ecstatic to have a board game cafe so close to home for me. I certainly recommend that if you're considering coming by here, you should swing by and try it!

The price is unbeatable, $10 for entry to play over 1000 games, and the beverages are yummy! My favorite thing to order is one of their monthly flavored lattes and a cinnamon roll or piece of coffee cake. Plus, there are daily events/games, so there's always something new for me to try. Lastly, the service is unbeatable: everyone is kind, personable, and treats you like a valued guest. I 100% recommend trying out this very fun and unique cafe!
