It is very strange to me to see only 5-star reviews for Canine Cadre. Every time we met, Lenny spent a long time trying to convince me to buy this or that expensive tool, such as a specific leather leash, a raised cot because the one we already had was not the same brand, a steel "car-safe" lead, etc. He wanted me to change the hand signals for commands that my dog already understood and responded to because they were different from the ones he uses. We attended weekly individual lessons and literally the only thing we got from it was that now my dog knows how to climb up and down the agility ramp. He wanted me to install a permanent tether into my wall to force my dog to stay so she would learn "place". This entire class is about breaking your dog's spirit. When we "graduated" from individual classes and attended our first group lesson, my dog was extremely distracted and excitable. We had not been prepared AT ALL for group lessons and when I tried to reach out for more assistance - when this was one of the first issues I had asked to address at enrollment - he tried to sell me on paying for more individual lessons. In addition to the waste of time and money from classes, Lenny would go on extremely racist and sexist tangents - about how people with certain color skin are more likely to attack you, how single women need guard dogs to protect them, etc. This was during the beginning of COVID and he would tell me I didn't need to wear a mask when I was there, so I finally bought and wore a rainbow mask that said "science is real, black lives matter, women's rights are human rights" and he realized I was not the correct target for his rants. Buyer beware.

For those who have been challenged with handling a reactive dog , you understand the mental toll it…read moretakes and how isolating and hopeless it can feel . You thought you did everything right by giving your dog so much love and socialization only to now be faced with questions and comments like " why didn't you just train your dog ?" , " you're not the alpha to your dog", " you shouldn't be a dog owner" on a regular basis. I have a 6 year old boxer ( the social , goofy clowns of the dog breeds) . I've worked with dogs in the past as a kennel attendant, and grown up with dogs my entire life and never thought I would be in this situation . I struggled to find a trainer whose techniques showed progress which lead to inconsistency, a lot of frustration and doubt . Eventually taking him places like the vet and groomer caused me such extreme anxiety. When I met Tom , my dog was unapproachable by strangers , including Tom initially. It took a month or so of meeting up , going on walks and practicing techniques at home but I was seeing improvement! Not long after Tom was able to take the leash from me and walk Gus, and we could walk near other people without Gus acting like a total maniac , lunging , barking and snapping. It was like he was a normal (ish) dog . Gus is 6 , so it will be a slow process to break him out of this behavior , but he has improved so much in the last 6 months .. I never thought I would get this far. I still have my work cut out for me but this training has also helped me increase my confidence as a dog owner and learn to trust my dog again. I'm not longer so nervous to take him out on walks because I feel like I'm in control.( Holding back an 80 pound boxer is not an easy task ) . I definitely recommend Tom if you are struggling with a similar situation. It probably has been the best thing I have ever done for Gus!

Highly recommend, they know their business and can handle highly aggressive dogs. Tom is ver…read moreinformative.

There is not one single employee that works for this business that does not genuinely love animals…read more They offer so many fantastic things like training, grooming, boarding, even crate free boarding where someone is physically with the dogs overnight! Personally for me and my dogs needs, crate free boarding works best for her. She has very high crate anxiety and sometimes puts herself in unsafe situations at home. So I feel so much more at ease while I'm gone on a work trip and have to board her because they offer this option! I've also utilized this business for training my pup! And let me just tell you WOW. They are so patient, so kind, not with not only training my dog, but training me. If it wasn't for them and the personal trainings or even group trainings they offer, my dog would probably always have to be on a leash, would never walk next to me and still be pulling me while on walks. Plus because of the training and doggy daycare they offer my pup is a social butterfly and not scared of other animals. Overall, I highly highly recommend Coaching 4 Paws for all your animal needs and will continue to recommend all my friends and family with pets to them. They are not only a very professional business but Carlos the owner always continue to educate his employees and himself --which I think makes Coaching 4 Paws the best around!

Let me start by saying I did not get training here, and for very good reason. The price was…read moreastronomical and I also had an awful experience during my phone consultation that completely turned me off and I wanted to warn people about it. I spoke with a woman and maybe 10 minutes into our conversation she tells me my only option is board and train which would be sending my dog away for three weeks and it's usually $4200 but she would give it to me for $3400. I immediately tell her that that's not doable for me, and during our conversation I got very emotional and began to cry to which did not phase her. She continued the sales pitch without hesitation. The entire phone call was the most sales phone call I've ever experienced, it's like she was reading off a script and there was nothing personal about it. She wasn't listening to me to understand, she was listening to me in order to respond and she already knew what her responses would be before I was done speaking. So impersonal. I asked her to send me the payment plan options so I could look into it which she did but I also expressed to her that three weeks without my dog is a very hard decision for me to make. She told me to let her know in 24 hours if I was going to do it if I wanted the discounted price. That's a big decision to make in 24 hours, spending that amount of money and also sending my dog away for three weeks. I explained to her that this is not something I'm going to move forward with at this time because I cannot afford it and the length of the training does not work for me. I told her I would reach out if I change my mind in the future. She then texted me a text message that I thought was incredibly inappropriate and was intended to guilt me into taking the training. Now the price isn't just not doable for me because I want to save money, I literally don't have that money, and I don't have the money for the payment plan either it is simply too expensive for me. My entire phone call and also the follow up text message made me feel that they were more concerned about closing the sale and getting money then actually caring for and helping my dog. I even asked her if there were other options she basically told me no. If I am going to put my dog in the hands of other people for almost a month I want to be sure that I can trust them and that they actually care and that this isn't just another sale for them. I felt this was just another sale for them.
