At first sight, it looks just like an every day run of the mill Starbucks you see in every street corner, but for a a bunch of tourists staying at the hotel next door and who are travelling with a feisty 2 year old, it was the go-to place in order to prevent the virtual daily meltdowns. For three days, the uncle would order milk, muffin, and banana for our little princess. Apparently at one point, he became a 'regular' as his order was punched in without him asking for it. The place is smaller than most Starbucks I think, and I agree that the layout is cumbersome and you have to pay attention as to where to line up, or you'll get a bunch of caffeine depleted people go straight to the ghetto on you. Overall, I'm raving about this place out of necessity, I'm not usually a Starbucks fan because they usually burn the coffee beans. I'm not necessarily referring to this one, but it has become so common that I don't really go to Starbucks for coffee anymore. But let me end this on a positive note: I love their shaken ice tea (black tea) lemonade (sweetened). Refreshing! read more

I went to that Starbucks for the second time; I have decided that I will not return to that place until further notice. I am Deaf. I normally order via type the iPhone note and show the list of items to the workers. I completely understand that some workers were not familiar of interacting with Deaf customers. I ordered a grande Frappuccino pumpkin spice. The worker was surprised like a deer spotted with the carlight in 3 AM. The worker told the team that I am Deaf and wanted to make sure that I receive my order. I was not really comfortable that they informed to the team instead of the worker who mainly makes the drink and give to the customers. Today, I went to Starbucks. The worker was surprised like a deer again and did not give me the correct drink. I ordered a grande Frappe caffe espresso, but she gave me Dopio Con Panna. He told the whole team that I am Deaf and ensured that I receive my drink. I am not sure why they purposely gave me the incorrect drink, so I accepted and walked away. Not a Deaf friendly environment. If I was a person who sits on the wheelchair, would the worker tell the team that I am handicapped? No? It is unnecessary to tell the whole team about me. read more

So this location is fast becomming my favorite on K Street, and there are many. To me the coffee and drive is at most of the Starbucks branches are relatively the same. What makes the difference from me is the ambiance. The two or three other locations on K Street haven't really worked for me for on reason or another. One location just 2 blocks away has the windows situated too high, so you can't really see the activity on the street. The couple of times that I have been to this place have been positive, and I've been able to get some work done. Today on Superbowl Sunday, they have the music cranked up so fricken loud, that I can barely work on my program, even with the headphones on! I wish that the employees would be a little bit more considerate for the customer people who are trying to use the space to be productive, and enjoy coffee of course. As far as Starbucks goes, the coffee here is nothing special. I go here for the convenience, and it's right on my way to work. I wanted to review this place, because every time I go, it's a really great experience. Sometimes, the line is almost out the door, but I am in and out within 7 minutes max. I've been to other Starbucks that can't seem to get it together, but obviously this location has a system in place that works. Here, they always get your name, so when they call: Grande Iced Coffee - 7 people don't grab the same cup. Their stations are fairly clean and always stocked for a morning rush hour. I think there's a lot of confusion over which Starbucks belongs to which street address (not really surprising, since there's one on every corner). This review is for the one on K, next to Potbelly - I can't believe I'm writing a review for a Starbucks, but this is absolutely my favorite one in the city. Every day I show up and every day, I order the same thing. The staff remembers regulars and their orders - not only does this make everything go quickly, but it's always a nice perk first thing in the morning. Great place for people watching!

This Starbucks is SPECIAL. Having worked in different offices, I've frequented many different Starbucks. However, this is the only one that has completely blown me away by their friendliness and incredible customer service. G and Sydney are wonderful people. They are always smiling (even though it's early in the morning and lines can be long), and they genuinely care about their customers (I swear they know everybody by their first name). Same goes for everybody who works at this location. It is truly impressive and deserves recognition! And, of course, the coffee is the great Starbucks quality you'd expect. read more

Who likes a good THREE STAR review (or a BAD three star review)-the answer is NOBODY! These things are almost absolutely useless especially for something like a starbucks... it is all about the staff and who makes YOUR cup of joe--did YOU have a good or piss poor experience so this yelper will try to take the coffee out of the Starbucks experience.. wait, how in the world do you do that? Admittedly, I'm not a huge Starbucks fan. I hate the fact that you have to make your own coffee (add milk, cream, sugar, etc.) and I'm not even that big a fan of the actual coffee - think it tastes a little burnt. But... On to this location - when in DC, there are literally Starbucks everywhere, so you don't have much of a choice when it comes to coffee. This location was very convenient to my hotel. The place itself is designed pretty bad as people had no idea where to stand in line at. However, service was pretty good and fast and the coffee was your standard Starbucks coffee. read more

Quite possibly the worst Starbucks I've ever been to. Close to my job, so I went here frequently and the service is consistently slow and unprofessional. My drink was wrong 99 percent of the time, and at $4 , shouldn't it be right? Starbucks as a whole institution has gone downhill in service since I first started patronizing them 10 years ago. I think the other positive reviewers may be confusing this location with another one...I've had consistently bad service at this Starbucks. Staff is listless and just not very friendly...whereas at other nearby locations the staff is chipper and funny and act genuinely interested in the work and the clientele. This location offers a mere transactional experience. This is a great Starbucks for the location and the size. I've gone here over and over again to get some reading and studying done. There' s a nice comfy couch with plenty of sitting space all around. There are a couple of tables that are big enough for you to sit and do some computer work with ample electrical outlets too and to have your drinks as well (seats 2-4 people). No free wifi at a Starbucks? Criminal! This location is also poor laid out. It very confusing where to stand, where your drink will come out when it's finally ready. They are slow and not too friendly here. I gave 2nd star cuz they do have a nice display of Wsshington DC Starbucks items. This Starbucks is pretty subpar to others in the area. If you have time to walk the extra block, I recommend it. They don't make drinks properly, especially the Starbucks Double Shot on Ice. I went to this Starbucks on my way to work, not a big coffee drinker but thought I'd have one this particular day. My coffee was very good and sweet. They are fast but not too friendly. I go here pretty often in the mornings on my way to work. Lately their new morning crew is aweful! They are not friendly and keep messing up my simple drink! When the little woman announces my drink, she says the wrong drink. So I say"do you mean a ---" and she says it is. But every time I taste it, it ends up being whatever wrong drink she originally announced. If I ask her to fix it, she does a half ass job or makes it super cold. Once I watched her take the wrong drink, pour it into a different cup, and then hand it back to me. The guy who manages the place is amazing, but I don't think they're good at staffing new employees. read more

I literally just walked out of this Starbucks and back to my office. There is nothing to compare this Starbucks to unless you have ever been to a McDonalds in a bad neighborhood in the South. The employees are all acting beligerant, yelling, paying little or no attention to the customers. Imagine you are back in 9th grade and you have a substitute teacher who cannot control your classmates, it is that bad. The operation is disorganized and the establishment is dirty. The woman in front of me in line bought a canned drink and cup of ice, this took about 7 minutes. I ordered a frappacino, my conservative estimate is that this took 11 minutes. The woman who was making it had to be reminded four times what she was doing, she asked three times whether I wanted whiped cream. The Frappacino tasted so bad that I threw it away, it wasn't worth the $5 for me to waste more time in that playground trying to get a refund. read more

On google maps this place is open till 7:30, so I go at 7:07 and walk in, door is unlocked and I stand at the counter. The lady looks at me and says "we are closed." I told her the maps state it's open till 7:30, then she says "I have nothing to sell you, we are closed." I was kind of shocked. Then she comes from around the counter, goes to the door, opens it and points me out saying again "we are closed and I have nothing to sell you." I show her the map that states the hours and she rebuts stating "that means we clean." I ask for the manager and she says "I'm the manager." Shocking that Starbucks has a manager like this, and then she points down the street and says "you can go to the Starbucks at 16/K." I left. I've never encountered this treatment at Starbucks and I won't return to this one. A while back I remember having poor service at this store but assumed it was an isolated incident. I guess not. It's a nice store in a nice location but customer service is everything when it comes to coffee and you have options. read more
