I didn't ask for a manager because I've worked in management before, and I know staff behavior often reflects internal leadership and environment. Still, it's something worth noting: even for quick-service or takeout spots, courtesy and professionalism go a long way. This interaction felt dismissive and honestly off-putting. It's so good that when I host brunches or have guests visiting, I make a point to pick up malasadas from here. They're always a hit. ALWAYS. I called them right away to let them know I had made a mistake and requested a refund. I'm in Ohio and the person I was giving the gift card to is in California! There is no way that I would be able to use the card. They said they would not refund my money but would have the owner call me to discuss. I never received a call. Stay away from this restaurant if this is the kind of low business practices they have. This says a lot about this business doesn't it?? I am disputing the charge. It would be different if I had waited a long time to ask for a refund but I literally called them the same day. This isn't right.
