Each visit to this location seems to be a disappointment. Whether it's the slow and long wait times, even when order is placed ahead of time or if it's the quality of the items ordered. Today I ordered 2 jalapeño pockets because the coffee at the location always comes out too milky. The pockets were estimated to be ready in 9-13 min. I showed up 7 min after order time and still had to wait. Once my order was called only one of the items I ordered was given to me so I had to wait additional time for them to prepare the other one. Inconvenience for over priced instant bites. The store is usually not as busy as other locations. Somewhat clean, not noisy. But definitely always slow. read more

As someone who goes to Starbucks - 3053 Waldorf Market Pl every day and spends nearly $10 per drink -- twice a day -- I am extremely disappointed in the customer service at this location. The drink I order daily tasted completely off, almost like a cup of juice. This has happened multiple times before, and I've had to ask for it to be remade. When I politely asked this time, the employee snatched the drink out of my hand with a terrible attitude and told another employee to "just shake it." When I received the drink for the second time, there was no change at all. On top of that, the employees' nasty attitudes made me feel uncomfortable and as if I couldn't even speak up about my order being wrong. I ended up taking the drink home and couldn't even drink it because it still didn't taste the way it normally does. For someone who spends this much money here regularly, this level of unprofessionalism and poor customer service is unacceptable. I will NEVER order from this location again. read more

The order was ready soon after i arrived, so quickly made. it was midweek and not that many customers inside. i was a little surprised they didn't have a drive through. the ambiance was typical of a starbucks and i would hang out and do remote work if need be. read more

Went here for breakfast this morning. Service was pretty quick, and the food came out fast. my drink was right, but my partner was mistakenly given a lavender matcha instead of a lavender latte. She politely asked them to remake it for her, and they grabbed the cup from her hands rolled their eyes, and the employees said "she didn't say latte" to each other. Yes its a little slower Saturday mornings nut thats to be expected during such a busy time. But those 2 weekday afternoon workers. Not it! Great place to meet up and chat. I meet up with a friend here and we enjoyed a great atmosphere. Music playing, clean, the staff is always nice. I was a little disappointed that my drink was discontinued but they offered to create another choice. It was a hit!!! I love that they get to know their customers and are always willing to do whatever it takes to make you a satisfied and happy customer. I was indeed happy with my drink!!!! I will be back!!! Update: I haven't been to this location in a minute, but it made me smile when I walked in and I was greeted with a big smile and a warm hello and best wishes for the rest of my day when my ordered was ready for pickup. This might be my only review of Starbucks because the customer service and drinks are so bad here. It's almost as if it's a Starbucks knock off? Very confused. I stood at the register for awhile, I was the only person in line and there was 1 barista and 1 other person. I waited some more as I watched the employee not acknowledge me and walk around. Then another customer asked for a bag, mind you I'm still waiting. He helps her. Ummm ok. About 5 seconds away from walking out I get to order. This review applies to the Waldorf Market Place location only. The service here has plummeted over the years. Years ago, I managed a nearby bank to this location and the staff, including management, were amazing. Nowadays, it's all too often where my order of 25 years is simply wrong. Some baristas take shortcuts and willfully disregard the recipe. My order is a macchiato with a few extras. Recently, this order was prepared multiple times without the foam top. When I informed the barista of the omission, his response was "oh, you want foam?" Which tells me that he simply does not understand the essence of the drink or he doesn't care. The male manager is nothing short of cantankerous when dealing with an issue. As of late, they never offer any form of apologies or compensation for their errors. I literally drive to other Starbucks locations which are inconvenient but the service is always accurate. I informed management at the Market Place that other locations never have this problem, and he was simply apathetic. I recently asked for the number to the District Manager and the store manager wrote it on the back of a receipt without a name. I looked him in the face and asked, "is there a name?" He replied "Denice" in a non-chalant tone. I have a longtime friend who served as a district manager for Starbucks for many years. He explained the customer service protocol to me, and this outfit here is far from protocol. For a longtime, I have been a loyal customer and stockholder. I'm disappointed in the lack of customer care that this location displays. My hope is that this review is read by senior management and changes for the better are made. A $7.00 cup of coffee should always be prepared accurately and with regard for the customer. Management, do better, set the standard so that your staff will follow. I never review Starbucks...just like no one reviews Chick-fil-a because there is a standard of service you are used to. You don't even think about it, even if it kinda slow, you are patient because hey... I usually don't have any issues ‍ Then there is THIS Starbucks No apparent method to the madness just 30 people waiting 30 minutes for their orders. I see unmarked drinks sitting and ask "who do these belong to?" No one knew so they just sat. I asked the gentleman at the register who was in charge. Everyone looked confused as if they weren't sure. ‍ I asked who is the manager? He said "Oh there's no manager here today. I asked is someone in charge like a supervisor? He points to an extremely pregnant young lady who was completely disengaged from everyone and everything. She floated around until completely disappearing from the line into the back, leaving a bunch of teenagers to figure it out. 30 mins for a cup of coffee is crazy! We even resorted to cheering for one another when we finally got our order! To go orders say melting while 30 people sat fuming in the lobby. I typically try to avoid this Starbucks for a reason, because most other Starbucks options in the area are much nicer, but I didn't have that option today. The staffing level is a real problem at this Starbucks. On a Saturday, they had one dedicated cashier despite the large crowd, one switch hitting between the register and the oven (ewwww), and one barista on the floor. The wait times were very long. In the time it took our child to eat his sandwich, our drinks still were not ready. Had there been adequate staffing, this might not have been an issue. In addition the bathrooms were horrendous! Both sinks were dirty, and one bathroom had water all over the floor. The drinks were good as was the rest of the food, but the rest of the experience left A LOT to be desired! read more

I really hate how this is the only standalone Starbucks for the entire Waldorf area. It's too small and understaffed to service a community that's so populated. This place is always hit or miss. Some days are fine, but those days seem to be the exception. I usually do mobile orders, and there always seems to be a "surprise" i.e. issue when I arrive. Some issues I've had (some more than once): - Ordered white hot chocolate, yet received regular hot chocolate. - Ordered for black iced tea, yet received white iced tea. - They've tried to be slick and add a bunch of water and ice to my tea, instead of just saying they didn't have enough tea left. - They always seem to run out of of stuff hours (like 2 or more) before closing. I'm sure there is more that I'm forgetting. Some of these are small issues, but it's annoying when they happen on a consistent basis. Always make sure to triple check your order when coming here. I'll be happy once the Brandywine location opens up so there's another option in the area. read more

However my experience at this Starbucks in waldorf, md was bad. It was around 6pm and came to this location during the week. It wasn't crowded at all when I came in and I ordered 2 tall smores frappucino with non fat milk and no whipped cream. Holy moly I don't even know what to say about service. 2 people that ordered after us got their drinks before we did! The first person behind me got an iced latte and they got 2 of them which I was more understanding about. Then a second group of people received their FRAPPUCINO and at this point I was enraged as I was trying to get my drink and out the door. How can you possibly forget my order when it was 2 tall frappucino?! The other persons order was a venti frappucino?! We received our frappucinos and surprise surprise, he put whipped cream on it and I had specifically asked no whipped cream because I don't do well with regular milk. I had to take off the cap and scrape it off my drink. So yup I left that Starbucks very disgruntled. Like you had ONE job barista...get the drinks in order and do it RIGHT. Not exactly sure how I feel about this location. It's always hit or miss. The customer service is pretty good but the drinks...sometimes they are way off. I usually do a mobile order and I always place the order well in advance, however, the drinks are never ready. I'm not sure why this location is so slow but it's definitely a trend. Even when there's not many customers, there's a wait. On the upside, there's always plenty of seating. I've had a couple of meetings here and I've always been able to find a spot. By far the worst Starbucks I've ever been to. The staff is rude, prime to give you an answer full of attitude and tell you not to come back. Took 25 minutes for a quad espresso (which only had one shot of espresso and why I was told to not come back), and an iced coconut milk coffee thing they had on special. Every member of the staff took their time in answering any question or explaining why it was taking so long, and then happily gave out the managers information when people started insinuating they were doing a bad job (They were). I visited this location and unfortunately don't plan to return which is inconvenient since it's the closest stand alone Starbucks to my home. First the associate gave me what was obviously a stale piece a pound cake. I'm sure it had been in the case too long as the outer edges were hard. Then when I asked about the rewards program (I had downloaded the app and wasn't sure how to earn rewards) she stated she was like her grandmother who was technologically challenged and couldn't help me. I agree with the other reviewers that this is a good location. I was a bit in two minds about posting another favorable review about this particular Starbucks because I figure if it keeps getting such good reviews then everybody will know about it and before long it'll get crowded no matter when you go lol! I think what I like best is that the coffee-maker people behind the counter don't give me a surprised, condescending look when I ask them for plain coffee. I happen to like plain coffee. I'm quite useless when it comes to all the mocha-chino frappy-wappy malarkey. Give us a black coffee, love, it'll do rightly. Today was no exception - it hit the spot. This location has a good wee buzz to it - I always see a good mix of people, younger and older, and those staring at their laptops. The people behind the counter are usually having a laugh and seem to enjoy themselves with customers, and altogether it gives the place a good vibe. It seems a good gathering place for locals - I'm hoping the Starbucks closer to me here off Indian Head Hwy is as enjoyable as this one, and am looking forward to comparing them soon enough. As for this one here in Waldorf, it has ample seating space outside, and on a hot day or an evening time, it is a very relaxing place to make a pit-stop and grab a cup. There are also a lot of places within walking distance to get distracted with, given it is situated in an outdoor shopping strip. There is a separate Starbucks counter within the Safeway next door, but it is small, dark, and not at all the same as this stand-alone proper Starbucks. No complaints here; a clean location, polite and attentive staff, decent coffee. Hopefully it'll continue to stay this way. read more

Drinks take an unusual long time to make at this location.I placed an order at 2:08pm and it's now 2:28pm. (This is the shortest wait i had at this store btw)The store wasn't even busy or understaff and it still took 20 mins to make my order. I don't know what it is about this location. For me to write such a poor review it's been a build up . Ive gotten a hair in my frappe and the remake was still below average. For this place to be as busy as it is, the employees are great! Friendly environment and diligent when they are making your drink to ensure it is correct! Marcus, Pierre and Mauriko are exceptional. I didn't get to interact much with the other employees but I could tell they were helpful to other customers as well, especially with the free holiday cup promotion! One of the things that really stood out to me was Pierre encouraging the other employees, telling them they were doing a great job - even if no one else recognized it he did! That's a team leader! This is probably the slowest Starbucks I have ever been to. Just waited 25 minutes for a iced tea and a macchiato. If you aren't in a hurry and enjoy sitting at a coffee shop then this is the location for you. If you are out running errands and want to get your caffeine boost, and want to get your drinks fast then stay far from this location.
