I have been to this Starbucks for years now and I have always loved the friendly service and quality of the drinks and products! However, the wait time has gotten atrocious! The average wait is 15 to 20 minutes! I am always rushing somewhere so this has definitely become a problem for me. This is slowest, worst customer service, dirtiest Starbucks we've been to in our life, I'm not exaggerating. We're locals to Tehachapi and have our hands tied when it comes to coffee in town. I have reached out to corporate numerous times and this place hasn't seen any improvement. I brought it up to the manager last time I was in there that our MOBILE order took 15 min from the time we ordered to it getting placed in the counter (Tall house coffee and a tea), mind you, not a customer placed an order while I stood there and waited. This last time was the same thing (to be expected), my wife asked if it was normal for it to take 15 minutes for a coffee and americano, and the rude employee answered with a snooty "yes, when were busy". This place doesn't represent our small town please don't judge our town based on this mismanaged establishment. read more

I used to work at a Starbucks so my expectations are pretty high.. First off I'd say don't waste your time in the drive through because your order will either be completely wrong, or your espresso will be burnt and ruin your drink... But if you go inside you get the really long lines and over the top wait for a simple drink.. To make things worse the majority of the staff aren't friendly And they're either too busy gossiping or just haven't grasped the "leave your problems at the door" concept to realize they're making customers walk out the door Unsatisfied... This particular Starbucks is ok. Not the fastest service, but the employees are always super friendly and kind. But one time when my mom and I drove through, we asked for a créme frappuccino, which means NO coffee in it, and they still put coffee in it when it's not supposed to have any. But aside from that, all the other times we've gone, they've made my drinks exactly how I wanted them. So overall, it is mediocre. read more

This Starbucks is in a great location for the town of Tehachapi. I don't come through here often but today it was a cold windy day with snow on the ground. It is located near the 202 and serves as a great warm up spot to get coffee or hot chocolate. It can get a bit crowded so bring your patience. It is a plus that they have 2 bathrooms. read more

SUPER friendly people have always worked here in my experience. Never gotten an order wrong (for me). Good atmosphere. Love sitting outaide when I come to this location, probably because Tehachapi always has such nice & refreshing weather. I stopped here last night while passing through and I was so pleasantly surprised to find such a genuinely friendly and outgoing staff, I was greeted coming in, I was helped promptly at the counter with excellent customer service and then I was again thanked when I picked up my coffee, not only was this location extremely clean and well stocked and organized but this customer service experience was amazing!! It is also nice to see that this staff could find the balance between keeping themselves busy cleaning and still make sure to provide an enjoyable experience for the consumer!! My iced coffee was also exactly how I had asked for it, doesn't always happen so I was very impressed in that aspect also!! read more

I am so disappointed with the service here this morning... I placed an order for one triple grande late and one grande in a vente cup drip with steamed half and half and a pump of sf vanilla. I thought they would have it ready when I came out of the restroom because I was the only one in there at the time. This was not the case! The barista just got my order-apologies accepted. The barista did NOT put my drip in a vente cup-no worries, apologies accepted. DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND MY HUSBAND GOES TO TAKE HIS FIRST DRINK AND THE LID POPS OFF AND WE NOW HAVE COFFEE ALL OVER THE PLACE. No apologies needed-three strikes you're out! I'm a coffee junkie. This Starbucks has a very slow drive-thru and it seems like they are bothered to serve customers. I like to spend my money where it at least appears that they appreciate me as a customer. I've had many drinks 3/4 full from this location. I believe this is the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. Wait, I know it is. I have been to a packed Starbucks that served me better than their slowest days here. There's also a couple of baristas, including some guy there, that amazed me at how rude they are allowed to be when working with the public. One of the managers is even "personality challenged" and seems to be having a bad day, every day I see her working. I deliberately wrote this in the most non personal way, without using names because I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but I really hope they get there attitudes adjusted. The drinks are so so typical starbucks, but at least one out of every four times I go there the mess up the order. One time I asked for a green tea latte to be blended or stirred please, and when I got to the window the manager tells the barista they aren't supposed to be stirred. At my old job in food service, if a customer asks for a simple doable request, you better do it or I would get chewed. If you have to go to this one, at least you'll get your Java fix, but if you have time either walk into the Albertsons for your Starbucks or go to the couple of local coffee stands that are excellent at service and drinks. read more

Well, I would like to report after 14 months that the Starbucks on the corner of Tucker and Tehachapi has vastly improved and the management has gotten their stuff together, unfortunately that is not the case. Three visits this week, and three disappointments. Some of it is my fault, as I eagerly pull up to a drive thru line that is 20 cars deep, order my drinks after waiting for 20 mins, and get to the window after 30 mins to be told that, "I'm sorry, our decaf machine is broken again", being very frustrated, I asked to speak to the Manager C********a, after getting the "There is nothing I can do" speech, I asked how long they were going to have a broken machine? Again, I got the there is nothing I can do. Before everyone thinks I'm just another a**hole customer that has unreasonable expectations, I visit this Starbucks almost daily, and tip the baristas consistently. This is pointed at the management of the location and not the staff working there. They have always been super nice and normally our drinks are fantastic. Boo to the store leadership. I want to start by saying that we give this Starbucks a LOT of business, and most of the employees and baristas are great. Julie is one of the best--always focused on professionalism and customer service. Sean always makes us laugh with his jokes and happy attitude. But there's one manager who is consistently rude to us. She never cares about our experience as the customer--in fact, most of the time I encounter her, I feel like I'm bothering her simply by ordering. We always try to be courteous and patient in our interaction whenever we see she is working, but it's getting to the point where I am wanting to turn around and go elsewhere whenever we see that she is working. It's unfortunate that someone in a management position--a position of influence for younger employees--has this attitude about paying customers. As a business owner myself, it makes me disappointed to see patrons so undervalued by a fellow local business. read more

I wish they had an option for 0 stars. They do deserve 1 for being in existence in the middle of no where. Traveling from Southern California and extremely disappointed in the lack of delivery of normal Starbucks customer service. The first day when I went a know it all, employee: Teresa, talked down to me and cringed her nose when I asked her a simple question. Her demeanor was RUDE and huge gap in positive customer service between her and the regular cheery chipper barista. In addition, the same day, my friend's drink was made incorrectly. Their line was out the door and the person at the register was slower than any other barista found at Starbucks (and I've visited quite a few Starbucks.) Today, they had another slow barista who didn't greet me or any other guest and asked me for my order a number of times before she rang it up. Again , line out the door and only 1 person ringing while the 3-4 other staff were running around and doing other things besides serving the customer. So when I got my drink it was wrong. The barista overheard me telling my friend and she knew it was wrong.she took it to be remade slammed it on the counter. I thanked her loudly and she just walked away. Excellent customer service . When I held my drink, the outside of the cup was dripping with coffee . Almost the entire cup was sticky and I had to deal with the aftermath of a rude , mad at the world barista who's taking it out on the customer. Not sure how well their training program is administered here but the staff needs to be aware that customer service is key and when you make a mistake you apologize and leave your rudeness / problems at the door when you're on the job. This is a great Starbucks. I worked for Starbucks for 5 years at a very busy location in Valencia and this store does a damn good job. I can tell you from 5years experience all the complaints about being slow, remember the location and take in to account a lot of people are just out of town travlers and they dont know what they are doing. If you are saying they got your drink wrong, 90% of the time it is your fault. Most people dont know how to order and why should they? You drink coffee you dont make it. However when you order wrong you cant blame the barista. Example all drinks will come hot unless you say iced. You may think its "YOUR" caramel macchiato however its called an iced caramel macchiato. Just ask and they will be happy to help. If its not how you like it, say something they will be happy to remake it. Twice my ice coffee did not taste right at this location and each time they remade my drink with a smile. Stop thinking the world must bow to your feet for you are the all mighty customer and you will have a much better experience. P.S. Every time I go in, the floors need to be cleaned, there is trash everywhere. The service is slow but the quality consistent. The drive-thru is painfully slow. I wish there was another Starbucks (but not like the one inside Albertson's). I think I will be trying the other tiny coffee shop nearby. read more

I only have one problem with this Starbucks. Its ALWAYS filthy and cluttered. Nothing is ever cleaned up. Over flowing trash cans, condiment station is in a inconvenient spot, no adequate seating (i don't mind this over the trash), and staff is always chatting away on their headsets, cracking jokes.
