got my red cup today, shoutout to yelp elite shonah for the reminder, because apparently i cannot…read morekeep track of starbucks holidays on my own. the cups are cute, festive, and free today with a holiday classic drink. meanwhile, the 498 robson street location is 'hello kitty less', turns out not every store got the memo (or the merch), i hear they will be restocking soon though. heard some die hard fans lined up before opening only to discover everything they wanted was already gone. the dedication! me? i just showed up on the wrong day. classic. bravo to the baristas, though, juggling "to go or stay," hot vs iced, dairy vs oat/almond/soy whatever, and still smiling through the chaos. true seasonal heroes. i grabbed a caramel brulée latte with oat milk and an iced gingerbread oat chai. both syrupy, sweet, and over 400 calories, and feeling the glucose spike coursing through my veins. let the festive holiday season begin.

Well....the location, the space inside, the service and the great baristas, and all that is still there except one......great baristas. Last few times, consecutively my coffee was cold. You can tell when you hold a cup of coffee in your hand that its gone cold, right? I mean....there's no heat coming from the cup. So, shouldn't the baristas be aware when they serve coffee that's gone cold or stale? I think nowadays with this location they're more worried about smiles and hellos...which is good in its own right, but people come to a coffee shop for coffee. Unless you ask for it to be iced coffee ...it really should be steaming hot. I'm not being unreasonable, am I? This is to Starbucks: I get it...your focus is Coffee and not pastries or breakfast sandwiches....as your selection clearly demonstrates, but you're dropping the ball on what you do specialize in at this location. Long story short. Make sure to take a sip of whatever you ordered before leaving the store. It might be luke warm... at best.

Chai had strong flavor and sweetness was perfect. (I chose less ice) cherry flavoured cold foam was addictive. Very creamy and matched with chai so well. I will order again. iced lavender cream oat matcha -creamy oat matcha served with lavender cream cold foam This item was also great.. Lavender cream cold form was also addictive and matched with matcha. It was very delicious, too. Overall, I am so satisfied with their spring menu. I wish they offer this 2 items for permanent menu..!!

There is now only a single bar style row along the windows. I came as a group and there was no way to sit together to chat. The only alternative was to bake outside in the summer sun in their S and W facing patios. Ugh. The good news is that many drinks (hot coffee, ice coffee, iced teas) come with unlimited refills. Took full advantage of it. Tasty.

A lady walks behind me in obvious distress asking for the bathroom, the very best they can do is give her directions to a bathroom half a block away... Shame on you Starbucks! My coffee arrives lukewarm as it's 25% milk, I told the server (you are not a barista you just press buttons), that was far too much milk, her solution was to pour 25% of the coffee out and give it back to me... Same diluted, luke warm mess! Starbucks has moves so far off their original brand, they may as well just replace their stores with vending machines. Today is the day I deleted my Starbucks app and the remaining balance, easier to walk away from the remaining funds, than put up with this half rate, tone deaf, profit first imitation of a coffee house. #NeverAgain #SupportLocal

How is this possible??? I looked around most of the stores around here don't open until after 10am. On top, most of the stores here are related to building materials and supplies, constructions, engineering company and yes there is one giant casino across the street. But how does it manage to get so many people here. I guess lack of food competition. Maybe???? Anyways, I got the Green Tea Frap which is my go to drink. It was super tasty. I haven't had that drink in ages. Very refreshing and tasty. Loved this drink. I will come here more often now that I will be in the area much more often.

So the customer needs to grab own lid for each drink. That's fine. However there is no straw on the same table. You have to go back to the counter side. Not only me, there were some customers who were looking for it. I hope it was a more efficient setting. Service wise, it's good. Door is way too heavy :(

What was most impressive was the guy who took my order (I looked for his name tag, so as to mention him by name in my review, but he wasn't wearing one). He was terrific. You know how sometimes you encounter a person who has the "it" factor, who just exudes charm and charisma, who others are attracted to because they are so genuine and friendly? This guy was all that. Seemed like there were a lot of regulars at this Starbucks and they all knew this guy and he knew all of them, too. Super friendly guy, a real "people person". The barista made our drinks perfectly and I liked how they called us by name when the drinks were ready. The actual store interior was small but clean and, again, you can tell it's populated by mostly regular customers. If I lived near here, this would definitely be my go-to coffee shop.
