I've been a Starbucks customer for quite awhile, so I've tried a lot of their new menu additions over the years. Quite a few of them I've liked, and some were ok--just not my thing for whatever reason. So I decided to try a vanilla protein latte and happened to be near this Starbucks location. Service was fine, no issues there, but the drink was disgusting. Every attempt to get a drink resulted in a slimy glob of I guess the protein "foam?" oozing into my mouth. I took the lid off and could just see what looked like a piece of white bread that had been left in water. The texture is hard to describe--mushy and dense and so thick that none of the actual latte could get thru it for me to drink. I took a couple of pictures when I got home, before I dumped it down the drain, and the protein stuff had compacted down to where you see it in the cup. I haven't had the courage to try another protein drink, but the pictures I see don't look anything like my latte looked. But to be completely fair, I don't know that the barista here did anything wrong with my drink, I just know it resembled a prop for a bad horror movie more than a tasty, afternoon energy boost. read more

I come to this Starbucks often. I get the strawberry açaí refresher....this week I have had to have them remake my drink which is relatively simple. There should not be an inch of guck from the strawberry seeds and dust in my cup, yet each time this week it has been. The staff here is always so kind and pleasant. This is across from my gym so I'm a frequent flyer. The app makes everything really convenient, and they have high protein food options which is always appreciated on the go. I don't typically like to go through the drive thru here because it can get a bit hectic with the parking lot, so I always park in front of the buildings where Golf X is. Finally stopped at this location for the first time on Sunday. We went thru the drive-thru and surprisingly there was no line. I love that they serve breakfast sandwhiches all day and they have a really nice variety of filling sandwiches. On our next visit I will definately be getting out the car and going in to check out the inside. The drive-thru experience went smoothly and the employee was very friendly. I want to bring the fur babies next visit so they can get the little cup of whipped cream. I ordered the caramel frappuccino grande and chocolate croissant which is served warm. I come here just about every morning before work and get my "grande pikes in a venti" cup. The staff and manager are very friendly. They refer to me by name. I love the atmosphere. Food is great. ( of course coffee is too). I've been to a few Starbucks in the area and they seem to be dirty every time I'm there and just not friendly at all. But this location is always clean, including the bathrooms. If you want a place to relax with your friends or to study then I highly recommend this place. Slowest Starbucks I have ever been to. It took them about 5-6 minutes to take my order, even though there was no line. After I ordered, I waited for a while to get my drink (they said the drink sticker didn't print). Not very friendly either. Barely made conversation and didn't acknowledge my drink until I specifically asked for it (again which would be okay if it was crowded, but it was me and one other guy in there). I don't know if my standards for Starbucks are too high, but I am used to having much better customer service than this place. I've given this place so many chances, but the times I leave unsatisfied outweigh the times I leave happy. Every time I get my drink it seems to be made incorrectly or stingy on the amount. I went a few days ago and ordered a grande Starbucks double shot on ice. Didn't pay attention when I left. Turns it out was less than half way full. The majority was foam. I realize this is the case with those drinks but it's hard when you pay for a grande and I got less than a tall. Thought I would try this place one more time this morning. Ordered a venti double shot on ice today. Same thing, too much foam and made incorrectly. The drink usually comes with classic syrup to sweeten it up. No classic syrup and barely any skim milk. I love the staff,very friendly, but drinks are awful quality. We all know Starbucks is pricey and when you pay that much for a drink and it's made wrong or has half the amount in it, it's frustrating. I did have a few sips of the drink below, but it did fit in to my grande Starbucks mug. First bad review I've given. DRIVE THRU IS AWFUL. At 5:30 in the morning I shouldn't wait 18 minutes For a drink. Do not go here if you think you'll be in and out quickly. Clean store, well-organized items, and friendly employees! Just because I go to a chain coffeeshop, doesn't mean I tolerate mediocrity and this location does away with that. The parking is slightly easier and less crowded than Brentwood, however, the drive-thru line can be a lot more busy at times. This could be due to the fact that they can usually fit more cars in their line. That's also the bad thing about the parking situation. You could possibly get stuck waiting for the drive-thru cars to move. Fortunately for me, I have never been in that situation. If I find the drive-thru looking busy enough, I generally don't mind walking farther away from the store to park and leave when I please. As far as the product quality goes, they are fairly consistent just like any other Starbucks I've gone into. There are several outdoor seating for you to use on a nice day and it's slightly more roomy inside compared to the Brentwood location. They are also fairly quick with the orders and are usually very polite. I have never had a bad experience here, service or otherwise. This will always be one of my go-to location and will continue to be as long as I live within 5-minutes of this place. read more

(Disclaimer: Sorry for the length, I'm heated/venting!) I normally would give this store a 5, but I had a TERRIBLE experience here this morning because of the shift? manager. I had called earlier to advise I was walking up with my dog from my neighborhood and asked if they were still bringing out online orders for curbside pickup. I was given 3 options on the phone (from the woman who answered). 1) I can come in with dog to place my order and wait outside for the beverage. 2) I can leave the dog outside and come inside to order/pickup. 3) I can go to the drive-thru window. I chose #1, because in the past I've been told you can't pick up orders in the drive-thru, as it's disruptive to the vehicles in line. When I walked in to place my order, everyone seemed friendly. No one else was in the store, except for employees. I forgot to put my face mask on, so as I was ordering my drink, I quickly took it out of my pocket and put it on. I was redeeming a birthday reward too, as my birthday was 5/19. The person ringing my order made a mistake and called a manager (I think her name was Meghan (blue/turquoise hair?)). She had to do a complete refund, which was fine by me, I was in no hurry. She did the refund, and when Meghan rang the drink up again, she claimed that my birthday redemption was nowhere to be found and it may have expired. I told her the reward gave me until 6/2. She argued with me that they typically expire within the end of the month of the birthday. I went to show her my screen with the expiration of 6/2 and she brushed me away saying "Just forget it, it's fine." I think she realized it was still May (May 30th). While they were making my drink, Meghan became increasingly passive-aggressive. She told me that unless my dog was a service dog, I'm really not supposed to bring him inside. As I was telling her I figured they would have told me that immediately when I walked in the store, she continued talking over me, telling me next time I need to use the drive-thru. I had been in there for about 5-10 mins at this point, and no one said a word to me about the dog, until that moment. I said I would be happy to wait outside, and they could bring the drink out to me. She told me to go outside, and that next time I need to use the drive-thru. Very nasty tone and demeanor. I don't know if she was upset she had to do the refund, that she was wrong about my birthday redemption, or if she was having a bad day, but her behavior was disrespectful, and frankly unacceptable. I'm a local resident to Rock Hill that's supported this location ever since I moved here, even through the pandemic. No one deserves to be treated this way, but especially local folks trying to support a local business. Oh, and they never brought out the pup cup I asked for either. This is my favorite of all the St. Louis and Chicago Starbs that I've ever been to! I work and live fairly close by so I come here several times a week - sometimes just to stop by for a quick drink and sometimes for hours-long major study sessions. The staff here is AWESOME! Super fast and very friendly. Can't ask for anything more. Several times I've stayed there studying right up until they close at 9, and they're still totally friendly and not at all "please leave." I skipped my Brentwood Starbucks in favor of trying out this location. The Brentwood location is very slow and the parking lot is like playing chicken which is getting old everyday. This Rock Hill location seems to be pretty new and looks really clean. I was able to order and get through the line much faster than what I've been used to down the street. The employees were friendly and my order was made correctly. They even apologized for my wait which wasn't even half as long as I would have waited in Brentwood with no apology. This seems to be worth the extra couple minutes drive I will have to come back and check it out during the morning rush soon. read more

So, let's start this off in the proper context. I'm not the biggest fan of Starbucks coffee. I think it's a bit too acidic, and I prefer a generic breakfast blend over anything they make. That being said, this location has great staff, it's clean and I have no complaint other than my coffee preference. I generally rate Starbucks as a chain, so 3 stars is what I expect I expect if any chain. This place gets 4 stars, so that tells you it's cleaner, friendlier and more worthwhile than other locations. I go to this Starbucks every day but I decided to go at 5pm to get my buy one get one free frappuccino and it took 20 minutes for me to get my 2 drinks. I pulled up to the window ready to pay and they told me my order was free. This starbucks isn't always the fastest, but they have great customer service. Starbucks is about at typical and predictable as it gets. This location is nice, clean, pretty spacious, the drive thru is always speedy, the staff is always happy to serve you (even at 6:45 am- I don't know how they do it). My drink almost always tastes the same- which is nice when a tall skinny vanilla latte is a staple in my diet during days when I have more tasks than time. If you're in the Brentwood/ Rock Hill area, this is the Starbucks I'd reccommend. The one on Brentwood Blvd is kind of a logisitcal nightmare in terms of getting in/out and finding a place to park. I don't know why, but years of not liking Starbucks and now I'm hooked. Still not a coffee fan but I love their black shaken iced tea. There is something about it that is SO yummy! I get a venti and it lasts me til lunch at work. It's a little caffeine and hydration. This location's parking lot sucks because it gets congested by the drive thru line. You can park in the lot of the shopping center and walk without having to worry about the line. The line goes REALLY quickly so I usually use it. I am there early if I go, around 7am, so lines aren't as long as closer to 8. I don't get food there often, but their vanilla bean scones are really good and the only thing I've tried.
