On my way to the St Augustine Alligator Farm, we stopped for coffee and a breakfast item. Unfortunately, the breakfast items both a friend and I wanted were out of stock (impossible sandwich and potato egg bites). Our drinks were great though the service was a little slower; perhaps understaffed for a Sunday morning. Still a good experience and would return it in the area. Fast, quick, drive thru. Great customer service. The lad was pleasant. My extra hot flat white with an add shot of espresso was made to perfecrion. The only quam is they should really invest in a cover for the drive tru so customers do not get soaked while rolling their window down to order and pay. The only positive thing is that the order is usually correct but this is THE SLOWEST starbucks I have ever been to and it doesn't matter what day of the week you go it's ALWAYS slow. If you mobile order they put it by the drive thru so you can't just come in and quickly pick it up and then act annoyed when you ask for it. You shouldn't have to ask for your mobile order when there is a line a mile long because you can't make the drinks quickly enough. At least fix the mobile order system, that would be the quickest easiest solution to these problems that don't exist at other Starbucks. read more

This is the best Starbucks in the area with consistent coffee and refreshers and friendly staff. As a matter of fact we often get a lot of coffees up to 12 or 13 because we drive quite a distance and then we reheat our coffees and the staff is nice and there is one particular girl that will help us walk them out I was in an accident I can't lift it's hard to even walk so my mom will go in - usually she goes through the drive-through but if there is a wait she will go in and the sweet girl will help her walk everything out which is very impressive and super kind. The accuracy at the store is impressive as is the flavor of the drinks very consistent. I highly recommend this location for not only the coffee but for the impeccable customer service. read more

Up front: great location with a drive thru. Plus, it has indoor and outdoor seating. I like Starbucks, but this location I only frequent due to its location. The staff is always friendly and service is normally pretty quick. But.......... There are "things" that are off about this Starbucks. First, they may or may not ask you if you want whipped cream. I normally like it, but I always order a venti for the most part and inevitably when I order here at this location I get half a cup of whipped topping and an inch+ of nothing. You can tell by the weight of your cup that not much is in it coffee wise. I always forget to tell them no whipped cream at this location and they never/or rarely ask if I want it...it just happens. My coffee of choice is always a Peppermint Mocha unless Pumpkin spice is in season. The coffee is very good, don't get me wrong...but with as much as this cost you want your money's worth. I know the whipped cream takes up room, but not half of the cup (or more)! When ordering here...try to remember not to get whipped cream and hopefully you'll get more coffee and what you paid for. Heaven forbid if you order a smaller size! (I have ran into this here and there with Starbucks at other locations, so this is not unique to this location, but one is a bad abuser of not giving you enough coffee. You can bring it to their attention, but they will tell you the whipped cream needs room...so...try to remember to order without! Or you may not realize it until you're long gone.) read more

This was a great drive thru experience. I loved the bright and bubbly voice that was welcoming me and making suggestions through the speaker. I felt like I knew this young man before proceeding to the window to retrieve my caffeinated goodness. This extraordinary Starbucks partner's name is Liam (picture provided at his permission so those reading this can see the personality matches the face). It's been a hot minute for me doing any Starbucks anything as I'm not a fan (and I personally boycott buying anything from them) but I was with a client and touring real estate openings and such and our caffeine levels had dropped so she suggested she buy us a trenta sized cold brew. Heck, when offering to buy coffee to satisfy my lack of caffeine slow temple thump, suggesting I'm about to go from sunshiny to Oscar the Grouch, I'm not saying "nope" and keeping my boycott diatribe to myself. Meanwhile back at the coffee ranch, I tried feigning that I knew the coffee lingo and that a medium is a vente and so on and so forth, so Liam broke it down in a charismatic way to suggest the accompanying coconut milk and Splenda amounts to make the taste satisfying and enjoyable as I'm a black drip drinker outside of present company in my passenger seat. When I arrived at the window, I was ready with my iPhone to capture his effervescence in photo as I could tell sight unseen he loved his job, people and making a first impression a lasting impression. He made kind and appropriate conversation as he was issuing the appropriate orders to each of us. He even allowed me to sip the finished cold brew product to determine my satisfaction. I'm a sucker for excellent customer service and more so about the use of my name while providing service. Attaboy!! Since my last review, it's been smooth runnings for this location! Restrooms are much better stocked and cleaned. Baristas are as helpful as ever, and the drinks are made well. Sometimes I opt for the protein snacks available at the front cooler area. These really compliment teas and coffee well. They're also filling enough for a long work session. This location is always filled with customers, so at times you might need to share a table. Busier times include after school hours between 3:30-5:30. With the Publix going in across the street, I anticipate that business will pick up. read more

Starbucks at Palencia is the best one I have been to in this area. The staff is so nice, everyone does not have a great day every day, but you would never know if the barrista's are having a bad day here. Never have I been there when people were down. The staff is constantly up, perky and happy to serve you. If you are having a bad day when you arrive you will feel terrific when you leave, you have to, their good moods are infectious. This Starbucks takes longer to make a coffee than it would to sit at a restaurant and order food. I'm the morning I understand it takes about 20-25 minutes to get through the drive through but they don't even start your coffee until after you pay so it takes unnecessarily long. Today I ordered online and left my house at 2:45 pm with the expected pickup time to be 2:52- I did not receive my drink until 3:16. Over 30 minutes for a coffee. I called to let them know and kind of got shrugged off. No apology or remedy. Pay $8 for a coffee that took 30 minutes to make. Never going to this location again. read more

Between the prices Starbucks and Nikes gets, I can't help but wonder how much of student debt has been incurred for caffeine and shoes on top of tuition, room and board, as intended. Their lack of appreciation for vets is seemingly infectious. Home Depot and Lowes have recently been infected by it with greatly savaged breaks for formerly much appreciated discounts which are now almost non-existent. Franchise or not, the saturation is such that there is almost no escaping their marketing ploy. And they have no slack for vets. They are as bad as Dunkin Donuts and almost as pricy. I've stopped in this Starbucks on a few occasions when heading over to I-95. The service has been courteous, but they always seem to be super busy (at least when I'm there) so the baristas may seem a little short as they don't really have time to chat. Drinks are always made correctly and I have no major complaints. Just be careful when you're walking out the door (across from the counter) as the step down is quite steep and if you're not prepared for it, you may spill hot coffee all over yourself. I have a feeling it may hurt but I can neither confirm or deny I have personal experience with that. read more

Messed up our order and when I tried to explain my order was messed up I put my mask down so they could hear me because it was very busy and loud. She told me to 'put my mask on while speaking to her' in a rude tone. I understand we are in a pandemic but they obviously have issues hearing orders with masks on. I live in Palencia. I've left a review of this Starbucks in the past because the experience here is so hit and miss. I'm done with them again. I've been here three times this week. They have messed up my order each time. I order an americano for heavens sake!!! With EXTRA cream. Never.... never.... do they get it right. Today I asked to add cream and 1 pump mocha. No cream. Zero. This is the second day in a row I have to toss out an entire drink. We are definitely done with them for awhile. We will drive over to 16. Much more consistent coffee. read more

Very poorly managed. Multiple times we put in mobile order. Go to pick it up at pick up time. Usually end up having to leave it after waiting 15 minutes past time it is supposed to be done or we will be late. Half hour after putting in order it isn't ready? I love Starbucks! On yesterday's visit I casually strolled in and to my surprise, I found my HOLLY! Holly is literally one of my all-time FAVORITE baristas, ever! I wondered where she went when I no longer saw her at my local SB and during our reunion, she shared that she had (obviously) transferred to Palencia and all is well with the world! Works for me! I ordered my upside-down, soy caramel macchiatto (at 140 degrees) per usual, smiled at Holly, and after what felt like seconds had passed, I was on my way! Located just off US-1 at the head of the Palencia neighborhood. Very friendly staff, comfortable seating areas inside and out. Have spent a few days at this Starbucks location and hit the drive through once as well. Overall the stencil for a Starbucks is pretty similar with little differences and I find this location to be worthy of five stars. read more

I am a regular at this location and don't typically write reviews, after witnessing multiple times employees at this location being treated VERY poorly by customers and in a recent repeat situation involving a specific customer - I felt inclined. I have seen customers call employees here "b***h" from inside the store full of other customers, and from the drive thru loud enough to hear inside while in line. I have witnessed customers go out of their way to try and argue with the employees, refuse to take drinks from certain baristas and force another to make it instead.......after a recent case with a customer refusing to take a drink because he apparently wanted someone else to make it, and the employees not pushing back on these people, I am not coming to this place any longer. Trip is, I've literally never seen an employee here behave like a jerk, even when they probably had a right to. Literally on 2 separate occasions I almost confronted a customer because of what I've witnessed here. Not going back, nope. read more

Seems as if this store decides to adjust hours whenever they feel like it. Just pulled up to order ( their mobile ordering was down) at 6:35 pm. They close at 8pm now due to COVID. We ( as well as 6 other cars) were turned away. Their reasoning was due to being understaffed. I do not understand why they could not take the order but explain there may be a delay. They were closed early last night as well. How is a business able to just adjust hours however they please. Their management needs help. read more

Ordered iced caramel Macchiato extra caramel drizzle. Recieved the drink quickly but with very little caramel

I just wanted to take a minute and recognize the amazing employees at this Starbucks location. I moved from Seattle a few years back and Starbucks is a regular "go-to" routine for me. I recently got a job in St. Augustine and have been doing my regular mobile order online every morning and swing by to grab it each day on my way to work. Not once has my order been horribly late, incorrect, or sloppy. On top of that, EVERY employee is friendly, courteous, and polite. One of the first times I visited this location a few months ago I was waiting in line when an elderly man came in shouting and acting untoward the Starbucks staff. I couldn't quite make out why he was angry, but he was clearly upset about something and acting in an aggressive manner. Despite this man's horrific behavior, the gentleman assisting him could not have been more calm or kinder. Not once did he respond in a negative way towards this customer, and he genuinely wanted to help him. The man left, still outraged but unwilling to get any assistance to rectify the problem, and the employee still wished this man a wonderful day in a genuine manner. Once the man was outside the door, the employee continued on with assisting the rest of us waiting to be helped. I apologized to this employee on behalf of the rude customer and he simply said something such as, "It's ok, it happens sometimes. But we are always here to help if we can." Since then I have made it a point to be overly friendly and the staff here continues to amaze me. This is my home Starbucks and the staff treat me incredibly well. They're fun, chatty and incredibly helpful. I'm really fond of hanging out there for extended periods.
