The drinks were fine and as expected, on par with any other starbucks in the US. However the rudeness and attitude at the drive-thru window makes for a customer who will not be coming back to this location.

The breakdown seems to be about every fourth time at this Starbucks, the coffee is "burnt"; otherwise, the experience at this Starbucks is pretty solid. The coffee is good, the service is friendly, and the space is clean. I definitely would recommend the drive through, but the environment inside is peaceful. The other downside of this Starbucks is the disastrous parking lot at the plaza where the Starbucks is located. The drive through gets one in and out the easiest, which is why I'd advise that route.

    Matcha latte

The drive thru worker was super friendly, but my matcha latte has zero milk in it. Just seems like matcha and hot water.

    I'm freezing!

You could tell that they have a loyal customer base which creates a beautiful community in the coffee shop. The decor and plant selection were beautiful! I decided to try the Maple Masala Latte, which really impressed me! It had an orange infused maple syrup as well as garam masala. The spices balanced out the latte so well. It was so smooth. Best latte I've had in a while honestly. I also got a spinach feta danish which was delicious. They have a great selection of food items! I really enjoyed my time at this coffee shop as well as the people that I met. Just a great experience overall.

First I went with my standard cold brew order and their ham and cheese toastie for lunch before I hit the road out of town. As I was sipping my delicious cold brew and waiting for my sandwich I remembered Stephanie recommending their espresso tonics and decided I should probably give it a try while I was there. So I got back in line and made a follow up order of their amaretto tonic and also grabbed bag of beans since I liked the coffee I was already drinking so much. The awesome barista asked if I wanted them to grind the beans for me and I gratefully accepted the offer. The follow up question was how I was planning to prepare the coffee (the marker of a spot that cares about their product!) and I responded it would likely be a cold brew (tis the season!) so a coarse grind it was. After they ground me up I hung out a bit enjoying the ambiance because the space is REALLY cute. I love their brand aesthetic, a western vibe but in a hot pink and teals palette, making it a bit more playful with a pop art spin. They also have huge windows with great natural light making the whole place bright and cheery. It just made me happy to be in there. I have to admit I'm not sure if an espresso tonic is for me but it was super interesting and thoughtfully developed so I'm glad I tried it. My ham and cheese toastie was really good and it was the perfect sandwich to eat on the road. Excited to use the beans I brought home for our next cold brew, too!

Get a free 12 oz of coffee here with any coffee beans purchase!…read more Rising Star Roasters is my destination for a strong cup of coffee. It's by far my favorite local coffee shop chain. I frequent this location inside Van Aken Market Hall. This coffee stand is located right as you walk into the main doors of the market hall. You'll need to go to the counter, order your food and/or drinks, and wait for the order to be called (typical coffee shop experience). Wait can be a little long during peak hours but it's worth it! You can then select various seating options inside the market or outside. Various options are available inside - comfy leather-like couches, leather-like booths, individual or group tables, and high tops. Outside you'll find tables immediately outside of the Van Aken Market Hall or seasonally on the lawn. If you stop by during the right times, you'll find the district bustling with music and seasonal events. It's also always a good idea to pick up a cup of coffee then go cowork at AO or browse the local shops. The menu at this and other locations is concise and simple. You can get brewed coffee, tea, espresso, lattes, and seasonal drinks. The menu is straightforward and not confusing. My morning go-to's are usually perfectly strong iced coffees. I also always pick up something from the specials menu. All specialty drinks are very well made and consistently prepared. I have never had any drinks here that disappointed me. Small batch snacks are available at this location such as croissants and tea biscuits. I sometimes purchase a snack here or patronize other vendors at the market. All coffee beans at Rising Star are top notch. I recently learned that they have a dedicated coffee buyer who travels to coffee farms and brings coffee back to Cleveland. They're also incredibly serious about their roasting process and have a local roastery. How amazing is that especially for a local coffee shop?! You can pick up beans at their location that are named after regions of where the coffee farms are located. Each coffee bean bag has taste notes listed on the bag, choose your adventure! Coffee bean bag prices vary from $16-19. They'll roast them for you and tailor to your coffee preparation method (i.e. coffee press). If you purchase coffee beans in store, you can get free 12 oz drip coffee! You can also order them online and they'll be roasted within 48 hours of shipping. I love to explore their coffees, get something new every time. I highly recommend this location for your coffee cravings! While you're here, look out for notNeutral coffee mug - sleek, 12 oz, and must have. In the words of Rising Star, "a laser-etched Rising Star emblem adds a subtle, sophisticated touch to the side of each piece."

Check out rising star! Service is always quick and the workers are patient and sweet!

Tucked in Coventry neighborhood, there's Phoenix Coffee. The first thing you notice walking in is the vibe -- warm exposed brick walls, quirky and ever-changing local art (currently fairytale motif), and the smell of seriously strong, seriously good coffee. The Siren Eclipse art on the wall is alone worth the visit. And the scones? Unreal. Flaky, buttery, and somehow always fresh out of the oven. Really probably the best around. There's also other breakfast snacks like muffins and such. Very limited options but very tasty. Bonus points for the greenery -- the place doubles as a mini plant shop. There's a few leafy ones you can pick up. I got large drip coffee while I was there and it perfectly strong. There's two size options, light or dark roast. The menu also features some seasonal favorites. I had recently spring matcha there that was so vibrantly green. There's also a pretty extensive tea assortment. For warmer months, consider seating outside. They have very fun and aesthetically pleasing wooden benches. Street parking is available in the area but it gets busy. Try parking garage on the street to park. It's free to use.

Their menu is extensive - cold drinks, shakes, hot drinks, smoothies, slush, sandwiches, bagels, baked goods, ice cream, pastries, waffles, salads, sandwiches, bagels, hot dishes, and fridge items. There's so many items on the menu that you can try something different during every visit. The real standout is Dubai Iced Chocolate Latte although I didn't try it. I ordered two large iced coffees and one sandwich (plain bagel with omelette). Coffee was pretty good and not too diluted. Sandwich seemed to include fresh, in-house cooked eggs. I wouldn't necessarily call the filling an omelette. It was too flat and didn't have toppings. The sandwich was pretty small and very dry. There were no sauce or any toppings. I don't know if that was maybe a separate option. My grand total was $20 something which seems very pricey in comparison to the coffee shops in the area - chains or independent. Even more so considering cup sizes and sandwich size. I would have coffee here again, not the sandwich. Sandwich was around $10 and really wasn't worth it. Ambiance is nice and modern. There's innovative and soft overhead lighting. The cafe is very clean and inviting. There are some board games you can play while there. Marble looking tables and greenery make for an airy aesthetic. The cafe is a pleasant and bright place to start your day. Also the staff is very pleasant. They're eager to answer any questions and welcoming. There are also options to order "to stay" or "to go" on the iPad. The parking situation includes some street parking and a small private lot in the back. I wouldn't advise parking at the lot, there are a lot of very deep potholes. If you choose to, watch out for them.
