The real star here was the Gateaux Basque. A soft cookie-like dough forms the crust while the center has a vanilla custard and a cherry jam of sorts. It has one of the most pleasing textures and flavors I've had in a cake. It is worth coming here just for this, although I will have to come back and try some of their other foods. I would also note that while the quiche looks really good I couldn't justify paying $15 for a slice of it. I realize it comes with a little side salad, but when I asked if I could get it without the salad they said they couldn't charge me less for it. Oh well. They're inconsistent, which is why I stopped ordering them. That's the reason I switched to cafe de olla. I don't mind paying the price but please match the quality of service and products.
